I hate the amount of flossers that go into that spot and camp where the fish hold. It’s ridiculous can’t even bother fishing with them around. I caught my first bobber dogging there in the Spring. When I pulled him it he had so many scars from foul hooks.
In fast water it is better to drift to bring the offering down. Where the water slows down and gets deeper, then bobber fish with bait or bead is better
@@phule1901Ahhh makes sense because here in bc your only allowed one hatchery a day tho with a single barbless hook so it's a lot less forgiving when you're using them
Man, I should’ve been fishing that spot along time ago! I just live kind of far from it. Nicely done. Do you know if fishing will still be good this month down there? What date was this?
Classic blue creek haha😂
Vu is one great fisherman for sure 👍🏽
Just got lucky lol
@@fishingwithvu nah bro your always hooking up from the bank bro your good man I just landed a few coho out at buoy 10 on Saturday
Dang that’s awesome. Fresh cohos out the salt are the best.
Holy crap! That was a beast of a fish!! Great job 💪🙌
Yes it was! I couldn’t believe till he started going crazy with it
Awesome! Can’t beat a day like that!
Yeah it was a good day !!
Can you share the location? I am new to fishing and I want to try.
Cowlitz
Good job keeping calm and doing what you know is best while everybody is barking orders at you. 👏👏👍👍
Haha it’s no big deal. Everyone was excited including me haha.

The people around you were nice, they also dont know how lucky they are having met you. Nice fish Vu...
It’s more like I’m lucky to have met everyone out there when I’m fishing…it’s always a good time on the river.
Congrats!! Really Nice Fish!
That's a hog! Congrats!
Is that just corky, no bait?
Hey, I got my first ever keeper steelhead plunking this Sunday :)
Heck YEAH!!! Congrats man. First one is tough but it’ll get easier from now. And yeah just a corkie and size 1 or size 2 hook.
@@fishingwithvuthanks!
nice, will try that at some point. How do you choose if you want to drift fish corky or bobber fish with a soft bead?

You did a great job fighting that fish. Dropping the rod when he jumped
Yeah. He definitely put up a show there. That thing was big.
Love that river but float fishing it🤘🏽
Not the dog leash as a stringer 🤣 nice fish buddy!!
Haha yeah. The dog was happy to trade places, she got to run around all day haha
Do you have a video of your setup?
No I didn’t. But just standard drifting gear, 1/2oz - 3/4oz weight depending on where you drift….size 10 corkie pair with size 1 hook.
@@fishingwithvu So its not float fishing, but a weight + leader?
For drifting, you need your weight to tap bottom as it travels down the river
Joy Daffy Duck, that isn't steelhead Vu, that is a Chinook monster. Good job!
Haha I love your commenting man. I’m glad I was able to land him. Fish was strong as hell.
Quite a fight bro…nice!👍💓👍
Flossin em gooood wit da cokky
That river has some nice fish!
It does! I like going here in the summer.
Man, you are giving me a heart attack Vu, that was good fighting.

Nice hog!
Oh yeah!
It was fun fishing with u bro
Hey man. Haha I’m still thinking about the way your cousin ‘released’ your first fish back into the river. That was a classic moment!
“Drift fishing”
Good thing up you have room to chase it on foot ,
Nice Hatchery
good job brother

@@davidsarafinchan4291 this was last week. Try to get out this week if you can. Looks like the hatchery is still getting fresh fish coming back
