Keep up the good work very informative and helpful. Getting my Ekol Clarity Vision 5kW Wood Burning Ecodesign Stove installed next week hopefully. Be coming back to your videos to keep me on the right track.
Hi Gabriel, is it OK to have the thermometer on the Top or Side of the wood stove ? I'm having a Hetas 45 Inspire with a Twin wall Flue and i don't want to Drill a hole in it for a Thermometer , thanks
Smokeless fuel does generally burn at a much lower temperature, but I would still be aiming to get it into operating temperature, even if it was only just. Placement may be important though, what stove have you got?
You’re absolutely right. It’s me getting confused. Truth be told, most stoves have the primary on the left and the secondary on the right and I genuinely think I’ve been talking on auto pilot 😂
Congrats on passing 10k subscribers!
Thank you!!

Yea definitely don’t screw it to Twinwall, as the insulation will prevent it from working anyway.
In this case, I’d put it on the side.
@TheTortoise Thanks Gabriel 👍
A quick question if you don’t mind. Re your thermometer, is the same optimal range also applicable when burning smokeless coal? Many thanks

@ Woodwarm Fireview 7kw
@ ps with convection kit fitted. I have the thermometer just above the collar.
That seems about right. Yea I’d still aim for the bottom of operating (250°F).
Your knobs the wrong way round (not literally). Right controls the air from underneath
