El Shaddoll Construct is the corrupted version of Gem Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli, a fusion monster made from Gem Knight Lapis, which looks much more like Construct.
Two things: - I though that El Shadoll Construct was an evil counterpart of Gem Knight Lapislázuli (fusion Between Lapis and Lazuli). But also it makes sense. - From steelswarm Roach on Duel Terminal lore, is supposed to be a steelswarm that was converted and became "Good". Later Roach became corrupted by Evilswarm, but was still at a good side on comparison to other Lswarm monsters. Weird story.
11:52 I’ve been playing Shaddoll for years and never knew what her counterpart was until today. @TheDuelLogs you should really make videos that explain in depth the lore of some card archetypes, we would surely enjoy watching them.
I take a drink every time this guy says "Dark armed dragon was part of one of the only tier zero decks in the history of the game." I've been drunk since I discovered the channel.
If the lore doesn't lie, it's supposed that Roach and Exciton are both in the goodies side, being Exciton an evolution of Roach. I wonder, are there enough redeemed monsters (monsters that became good) for making a top list?
Roach is one of the evilswarm sentinels He is getting mad because hercules zap him for no reason. he is already in the alliance side before he turned into roach, his mats also an evidence that he is no longer part of the steelswarm as every deck can summon him. Technically he is already a good person even before he became roach, even in his sentinel forms he is not as evil as his friends in the steelswarm gang, so no he is not bad guy turned good.
Actually, in the art of Advance Zone he (still being Sentinel) is being purified by the Vylons, that ring surrounding him is from them, not from the Steelswarms; Roach in the background would be a future image of him.
Love the videos dude!! Ever thought of a top ten cards in a tcg set? That might be hard because it’s probably rare that a set has 10 cards that saw competitive success
I was about to say “YOU DID MAH BOI EXCITON KNIGHT DIRTY!!” when you mentioned Ophion for the extra deck Evilswarm Monster, that is until I got to number one. Very fitting placement.
Exciton knight is actually a good guy in the duel terminal lore. It just happens to be in the "Evilswarm" archtype. another monster that also has the same traits is Evilswarm Kerykeion, though in the case of Kerykeion it became an Evilswarm because it absorbed the power of the corrupted Ice Barrier dragons while Exciton Knight started as Steelswarm Sentinel but is later "redeemed" or something. that's why Exciton Knight and Kerykeion don't have 50 in their atk points(though in Kerykeion's case it's to mirror Constellar Sombre).
Fun fact Log, Exicton Knight is the counterpart to that Steelswarm Knight because Exicton was a purified revival of the latter, along side others for the... Zefra archetype? I think? The Duel Terminal lore was that it was a combined effort of all in the Zefra to put a stop to the world from burning into nothing by another archetype that continued to use Lapis’ soul. I can’t remember that last archetype’s name, but after they were defeated, so finally ended the Duel Terminal’s history.
Yes to Zefra, but that happened later, Exciton Knight was already a thing for a while in-universe at that point. As for the Archetype you can't remember, that was the Infernoids, under order (essentially) of "Tierra, Source of Destruction" as part of its plan to revive itself.
One of my favourite evil variants of cards is Mazera DeVille. It’s effect is arguably evil to boot, discarding 3 cards at random from the opponent’s hand on summon. I honestly just like the Zera cards.
Since you asked, how about top 10 generic lv 4 or lower monsters that can special summon itself from hand. Btw dark simorg deserved an honorable mention at least.
Cheating because of number 1. According to the card lore it is the ascended version of steelswarm roach just like gagagigo the risen. Still, good video.
Actually, yes..Exciton Knight is actually a good guy. Hell, Roach was good guy too, it's just that Exciton Knight is Roach upgraded and later got upgraded as Stellarknight Zefraxciton.

I had a few funny Yugioh shower thoughts even though I haven't played since early GX era. I blame your videos, so I'm gonna share them here. Funny things to do at a Yugioh tournament: 1. Play vanilla monsters like their flavor text is actually an effect. For example, Flying Fish can instantly win the duel if you summon it because it grants three wishes and you can just wish to win the duel. 2. Dress up as Yugi, Kaiba, etc. and play an appropriate deck. 3. Use miniatures to represent your monsters and throw them at your opponent when you attack directly. 4. While looking for examples for 3, I discovered a rather sizable Exodia toy that has a spring loaded fireball launcher. So like, play an Exodia deck and shoot the fireball at your opponent when you get all five pieces. Also, you have to shout "EXODIA! OBLITERATE!" 5. When you sit down for your first match, just pull out a totally different card game. 6. Dye your hair green, carry a stack of $20s, and blatantly break rules. When called out, say "Screw the rules! I have money!" and show off your $20s or say "Screw the rules! I have green hair!"

Core is obvious, Winda is the crystal this monster holds, appearing in the puppet form of Winda, priestess of Gusto’s staff, but also on Squamata’s back. As for Grysta, its because Core eventually becomes Grysta, possibly by using Carngorgon’s body
Eh, Exciton Knight is actually the good version of Steelswarm Roach - he was evil but he switched the side during the world war. He's even a part of the Zefra gang which are the main heroes of the war against Tierra. About Evilswarm, there are 2 "good" characters so the archetype are not entirely evil. @@Prince_Eva_Huepow he is the metalic version of red-eyes darkness dragon which is the dark counterpart of the og red-eyes and he was broken before the errata so there are no reason to not includ him
About the lore behind why Lapis can become Construct, I’ll give a very brief summary of what happened, because this story is very long and involved many different archetypes. This is called Duel Terminal story. - Sophia and Tierra are 2 gods. Sophia beat Tiera and sealed it into the Tree of Life by using a “core”. This core was then broken into 10 pieces, which became the pyroxene of the Gem Knights. - During a war, many Gem Knights were slained, including Master Diamond and Lapis. Somehow, Master Diamond, with other Gem Knights, were reborned info Caingorgon the Antiluminescent Knight. It captured Evilswarm Kerykeion, use his power and became Shaddoll Core. Shaddoll Core then revive many species that were fallen in the previous war, and turned them into the Shaddoll. There isn’t a real reason why Lapis could become as massive as Construct, but it may due to the fact that Lapis is a Gem Knight that holds a core requires to release Tierra. So Tierra gave it a huge power to help with that goal.
To give the reason as to "why Lapis", because Constellar Sombre exists. Sombre not only holds a piece of Sophia's Energy of Rebirth, but is also, at its Core, just Gem-Knight Lazuli. Lapis, being Lazuli's "Mirror-Image" inherently kind of reflects (no pun intended) that Level of Power, so the Shaddolls just had quite a lot of Energy to work with from the get-go. It even comes into play again later in the Storyline as to how Tierra finally revives itself

Actually, instead of the same boring kid's anime, they should make a fun one with the monsters' worlds; And even Duel Terminal;
Yup.

Pokemon anime might be ending. Maybe this is a sign to make a high budget dual terminal OVA.

(11:45) Huh, makes me wonder if a "Top 10 Fusion Monsters that have been on the Banlist / Restricted" is possible. I think it would be, I mean off the top of my head:
Thousand-Eyes Restrict
Elder Entity Norden
Blazing Fenix the Burning Bombardment Bird
Supreme King Starving Venom Fusion Dragon
Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon
At least 1 "-ritual Beast" monster
At least 1 "Gem Knight" monster
El Shaddoll Construct
Probably at least 1 "HERO" monster
Probably at least 1 "Cyber Dragon" monster
Actually, it would definitely be possible. Maybe an idea for the future?
From what I learned about "evil" counterparts is that they do not hold back which is why their effects are typically better than the originals- just like with Evil HEROs.
Btw not to be that guy but it’s lswarm as elleswarm bc it included steel/evilswarm card too, which in of itself I think is an evil counterpart of itself in some sense too
14:37 small mistake. dark calling lets u fusion summon with material from the hand and gravenyard and not from the field. there is another dark fusion card which can fuse whats on the field and hand i think
You mean Dark Fusion, literally Evil Hero Poly
I'm gonna comment just to bump this up since it's a pretty big oversight
@@PrimeGamator wouldn't the bigger oversight be that he said you can add "a dark fusion monster" from you deck to your hand via adusted gold's effect?

Top 10 decks that became engines, like how Scrap became the "Send machines from the deck to the graveyard like a boss"
Trickster gotta be there somewhere, invoked and kaiju too if can count (technically a package, not engine)
El Shaddoll Construct is the corrupted version of Gem Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli, a fusion monster made from Gem Knight Lapis, which looks much more like Construct.
I love these kinds of vids. Learning about the lore of the cards with their art is so entertaining and interesting.
just go read the master guide stories they are so worth reading if you got spare time.
Wonderful, I've been waiting for this for so long. And right when my pizza arrived, too.
Oh yeah the good old days where Evil Swarm execiton was a god like card
Two things:
- I though that El Shadoll Construct was an evil counterpart of Gem Knight Lapislázuli (fusion Between Lapis and Lazuli). But also it makes sense.
- From steelswarm Roach on Duel Terminal lore, is supposed to be a steelswarm that was converted and became "Good". Later Roach became corrupted by Evilswarm, but was still at a good side on comparison to other Lswarm monsters. Weird story.
20:33 I almost felt Nickelback here.
I guess construct being based on Lapis makes sense, as Construct looks very similar to Gem-Knight Lapis Lazuli
11:52 I’ve been playing Shaddoll for years and never knew what her counterpart was until today. @TheDuelLogs you should really make videos that explain in depth the lore of some card archetypes, we would surely enjoy watching them.
I think its the evil counterpart of Lapis Lazuli, the fusion, and not the base Lapis.
@@ajbXYZcool It is Lapis, but the pose is that that definitely resembles Lapis Lazuli.
I've been playing Shaddolls for several months now, it has become my new favorite deck, the former being D/D/D
Evilswarm Excited Knight: "WOHOOO, I AM SO PUMPED! I am going to blow 'em all up, let me at them, LET ME AT 'EM!"
For a second I thought he said Cairngorgon required 82 level 4 monsters, instead of Any 2
I take a drink every time this guy says "Dark armed dragon was part of one of the only tier zero decks in the history of the game." I've been drunk since I discovered the channel.
You can add a dark fusion monster from your deck to your hand. “Dark Calling.”
Darklord Zerato is also the second evil counterpart to Archlord Zerato, the first being Mazera Deville who debuted in the same set, Ancient Sanctuary.
If the lore doesn't lie, it's supposed that Roach and Exciton are both in the goodies side, being Exciton an evolution of Roach.
I wonder, are there enough redeemed monsters (monsters that became good) for making a top list?
Roach is one of the evilswarm sentinels
He is getting mad because hercules zap him for no reason. he is already in the alliance side before he turned into roach, his mats also an evidence that he is no longer part of the steelswarm as every deck can summon him.
Lightrays. Metaphys. Gagagigo the Arisen. There's a few.
Love the videos dude!! Ever thought of a top ten cards in a tcg set? That might be hard because it’s probably rare that a set has 10 cards that saw competitive success
Top 10 best monsters who have less attack than defense. Like for example Destrudo (1000 ATK | 3000 DEF)
My favorite is El Shaddoll Shekhinaga(no, it's not because I own the card)
I've been asking for that. AFD is a top contender
I was about to say “YOU DID MAH BOI EXCITON KNIGHT DIRTY!!” when you mentioned Ophion for the extra deck Evilswarm Monster, that is until I got to number one. Very fitting placement.
Big badder better counterparts.

Shaddoll: Control against will
Malefic: Cybernetic corruption
Dark: Unknown corruption method, maybe magic
Evil Hero: Classical fallen hero
Kaiba: "F*** the rules! I have money!"
The DuelLogs: "F*** the rules! I need subscribers!"

I respect the hustle
Exciton knight is actually a good guy in the duel terminal lore. It just happens to be in the "Evilswarm" archtype. another monster that also has the same traits is Evilswarm Kerykeion, though in the case of Kerykeion it became an Evilswarm because it absorbed the power of the corrupted Ice Barrier dragons while Exciton Knight started as Steelswarm Sentinel but is later "redeemed" or something. that's why Exciton Knight and Kerykeion don't have 50 in their atk points(though in Kerykeion's case it's to mirror Constellar Sombre).
Every time I fell like this has to be the last top 10 anyone can make abt yugioh, every time I'm wrong. Salute my guy
I physically cringed at "eye-swarms"
I swarm
You swarm
We all swarm.
Cairngorgon requires 82 lvl 4 monsters? Must be really good then.
"i"-swarm monsters???? Really? Are they part of the Evii-swarm and Steei-swarm archetypes lol?

Evilswarm Thunderbird is an evil form of Mist Valley Thunderbird
Cheating because of number 1. According to the card lore it is the ascended version of steelswarm roach just like gagagigo the risen. Still, good video.
For Construct, I always thought it was the evil counterpart of Lapis Lazuli because they share the same color and same pose on the artwork

It's really impressive your narration. The change of pace, the pauses. It might go unnoticed by most people, but it's the most important skill a good narrator needs to have.
Could you change the title to “Top 10 Evil counterparts to existing monsters” then do a “Top 10 monsters with evil counter parts.” That way you could explore cards like Honest, or a lightsworn; you know good cards that have evil counterparts
I had a few funny Yugioh shower thoughts even though I haven't played since early GX era. I blame your videos, so I'm gonna share them here.
Funny things to do at a Yugioh tournament:
OBLITERATE!"
5. When you sit down for your first match, just pull out a totally different card game.
6. Dye your hair green, carry a stack of $20s, and blatantly break rules. When called out, say "Screw the rules! I have money!" and show off your $20s or say "Screw the rules! I have green hair!"
The newest one: Dis Honest(Dark Honest)

Sooo fun fact, #7’s lore comes from not only the Gem Knights, "Gem-Knight Zirconia" (right arm and left leg), "Gem-Knight Master Diamond" (left arm and right leg), and "Gem-Knight Prismaura" (damaged head) grafted onto its body, but also is partially related to the Shaddolls, Specifically Core, Winda and Grysta.

One is Exciton Knight, another one is Evilswarm Keyrkeion.

Man, i love you. You revived my interest in ygo even if i don't play anymore.
@@agitpolat1061 it shown in the artwork of darktellarknight Batlamyus, it mimics the strongest of tellarknight Ptolemaeus, with construct fused with the body. It shown that Lapis and Lazuli is connected, so Tierra using Lapis for his plan.
TDL: Explains why Shadoll Beast isn't higher on the list.
Also TDL: Proceeds to mention Shadoll Beast again on almost every single higher spot on the list.
....Did you just forget about Lady Lapis Lazuli? You know the adult version of Lapis that is important to the Gem Knight FTK and is the one who transformed into Construct?
You were mostly right on the priority thing during the dark armed dragon part. It's not that they could respond to a card like bottomless. It was that all ignition effects during open game state were allowed to be activated first via turn player priority.
