My favorite floodgate from Yu-Gi-Oh is Gravity Bind. It used to be really powerful, but since XYZ monsters came out it gradually became easier to bypass it's lockdown. Basically, if a monster doesn't have a level; it can't be restrained by gravity bind. R.I.P. Gravity Bind. Cause of death; power creep.
About Macro and Fissure being at 3 in the OCG. Base on what i've hear, the OCG has a more control-based meta and out-resourcing your opp, so they don't really want their card to be banished either. And considering that one of the best deck over there while VFD ( True King of All Calamity ) is still available, Virtual World, is already about banishing and manipulating banished cards, there really is no point in limiting Macro and Fissure at all. I could be wrong tho, but that's what i've learn so far.
Merry Christmas duellogs! Love ya. Mistake is also a great floodgate that I love to play. Once I played out my first turn, I pasted, than I activated mistake as soon as my opponent tried to search, than they just ended there turn and I won 😂
Really surprised that Deus X Krawler isn’t on here. Level 9, 2000 attack and 3000 defense, can easily be brought out by Krawler Glial or any Krawler’s second effect, has the effect where if any card effect targets it when facedown, you can flip it to faceup defense position, negate the effect and destroy that card, and also if it has been flipped faceup, it negates all of your opponents monster effects. While I’m talking about Krawlers, I’d like to suggest a future video about Krawlers. Been using them for a while, super fun, meta punishing deck that’s massively underrated
Kaiser Colosseum, Great Maju Garzett, Rare Gold Armor, and Wall of Revealing Light on one turn was a great combo in the DM era. Fast forward in time, to when Battle Mania was a thing and Anti-Spell Fragrance/Vanity's Emptiness, and it made this combo almost unstoppable. Add a few beaters, some other synergy cards like Staunch Defender, Indomitable Fighter Lei Lei, Confusion Chaff, and Skill Drain (for Lei Lei), plus the typical removal and battle traps, and I called it "Moths to a Flame." I never played this deck in competitive, I never thought it would top, but the deck never lost yet. I've never played it with too many modern cards yet.

12:00 - I couldn't find official rulings on this, but the previous ruling on this was: "While you have "Kaiser Colosseum" on the field, your opponent can Tribute Summon, if after the Summon they will control less or an equal number of monsters as you do." So, if you both control 1 monster each, you should be able to tribute their monster for a one-tribute Kaiju because after the Summon, you will both control the same number of monsters. If somehow they control 1 and you control 2, you cannot Kaiju at all because you are trying to change the number of monsters on the field, but the result is that you will control more monsters than they would after the Summon.
I'm kinda surprised Dark Law isn't here since he's a one-sided Macro Cosmos that is very easy to put on the field since you don't have to draw him. Maybe because it's harder to keep him on the field with being a monster with no protection effect?
You were wrong at the spell fragrance stuff, it says "until their next turn after setting them" it means quick play spell cards still have to wait for the player who set the turn to be activated
Some errors: Anti spell fragrance does not allow you to activate quick play spells on the opponent’s turn after you set them. Lonefire blossom activates on the field not the graveyard, but dodges skill drain because skill drain only cares if the card is “currently” on the field.
Shout out to Secret Village of the Spellcasters. That field spell card was a vital for my platinum rank in master duel in my Dark Magician/Magician of Chaos deck.
Quick-play spells would actually have to wait two turns as well under an Anti-Spell Fragrance because of the way that trap card is worded "cannot activate them until their next turn after Setting them" so it's actually a little bit better because of that.
I'm pretty sure Majespecter Unicorn got Kaiser Colosseum banned, because it's an unbreakable monster that you can pendulum summon, and also has a quick effect to bounce stuff once per turn, meaning that under Kaiser Colosseum you can't attack it twice.
Ido the Supreme Magical Being gets an honourable mention from me for stopping all of your opponent's summons as long as you give control of it to your opponent.
Wasn’t “Level Limit Area B” constantly used in the Synchro era? I’m kinda remembering it being a staple card in a lot of Cloudian decks. Granted, it kinda went out the window when Xyz Monsters showed up, though it probably was used in some early decks during that era as well.
Getting two ground collapse on opening first turn draw is amazing. Combine a lock down set up with as impenetrable a defense as possibe and burn damage and you have a nasty deck. Ground collapse is a continuous spell that lets you select and seal from use two monster zones. It can be brutally limiting on opposing options as they can only have one non link monster on the field if two ground collapse spells are active. I shut down my last opponent by using ground collapse, morphing jar, a couple of wave motion cannons and finished with a nurse burn influenced gift card
5:08 I could've sworn that in some GBA games, that if one didn't pay the maintenance cost, that the card would automatically be destroyed and sent to the graveyard.
the funniest way i ever got over a skill drain deck was phantom knights, as even tho they're combo based, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon was simply too big for them to get over
Jinzoooooo! He's not comparable to the current top ten but he was easily one of the best floodgates during the gx era when battle traps were a huge problem. He was so powerful he became limited to one copy. Easily one of my favorite cards
I absolutely love Anti-Spell Fragrance. I had a deck on Dueling Network that had ASF, Dark Simorgh, Demise King of Armageddon, and Advanced Ritual Arts as the core. Wind + Dark, ritual focused deck that shuts down S/T and wipes the board. Did incredibly well and had a positive winrate against full powered Spellbooks and 30/70 winrate against Dragon Rulers. I really miss those days of ygo. I know there are better ritual support since then so I kinda wanna make a new deck and see how it holds up nowadays.
I'll be honest here, I've not played since then but after seeing ASF I kinda want to get back into YGO and make meme decks again. I really wanna summon Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth and see my opponent lose their shit again. With all the negates and tryhards nowadays, I don't think I can do it but the spark is back (Kinda wanna get YGO on Switch but idk if it's good or not)
I used to run a deck that combod anti-spell fragrance with dark simorgh completely making the back row unusable. It didn't get alot of wins because there was no answer for boss monsters
An answer for boss monsters could be flip effects that let you take control of opponents monsters or destroying them. That or having a way to make them hurt their user like if you use one of the time lords to make a boss monsters attack points become direct life point damage to its controller
Mystic Mine (Mashoudo) is at 1 because compared to the other floodgates it doesn't carry 1 deck entirely on its back. Chain Burn if I can remember won a (YCS tier event and it was getting free wins left and right hence Mine single handedly carrying an entire deck) cause in decks like Chain Burn wherein HFD or Twin Twister would do absolutely nothing cause they will just chain to it unlike if it was skill drain or macro where if its met with HFD or Twin it just dies.
Djinn Releaser Of Rituals was a floodgate, as was Nekroz Of Unicore. Them combined is perhaps one of the most infamous floodgate plays in the game's history. Also enjoy that you used Yamato as an example for Kaiser. Still recommending top 10 Earth Machines.
One video idea that might be different from the Top 10's but definitely everyone converting off Master Duel to IRL would want to see: Best cards to occupy Side Deck, as well as a video analyzing which staples are best for Siding out in games 2 and 3.
I once played against a guy who used mystic mine and like 3 copies of every solemn card possible, final countdown and spell protection for mystic mine, he didn't use any monster except for handtraps and didn't do anything for 13 turns, I counted it
Really wish they'd errata Mystic Mine to either allow attacks or allow Graveyard activations. Either of those would stop people from playing solitaire.
@@1krani I would give it some hard restriction to be activated, like this card can only be activated when you control more monsters than your opponent and then paying 1000 life points each standby phase to mantain it
@@benjaminbarraza8972 But then no one would play it. A lifepoint cost I could see, but turning its effect on yourself, giving your opponent free reign to do one- or two-monster combos? Ehhh, not too sure about that.
@@benjaminbarraza8972 I'd settle for an errata of "(except in the Graveyard)". With that, Ice Hand, Fabled Catsith, Danger! Bigfoot!, and so many other backrow and face-up destroyers become viable, not to mention on-destruction summons like Giant Rat or the Shaddoll Fusion monsters.

A perfect way to celebrate Christmas... Lock your opponent out.
A suggestion for a future Top: Top 10 Best Equip Spells
Inspector Boarder is why I stock my decks with Spell and Trap effects to special summon or destroy.
They could fix that coliseum by adding "when that monster would be on the field" so it would be less confusing.
Great video ! Merry Christmas duellogs
Screw Christmas, Get me dem back to back vids!
5:08 I could've sworn that in some GBA games, that if one didn't pay the maintenance cost, that the card would automatically be destroyed and sent to the graveyard.
They changed the card that it is mandatory to pay and every standby phase instead of only yours.
Christmas miracle two vids back to back
For an instantly outdated video, top 10 differences between TCG and OCG banlists XD.
Or may be any differences that's been around for a while.
the funniest way i ever got over a skill drain deck was phantom knights, as even tho they're combo based, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon was simply too big for them to get over
With all the negates and tryhards nowadays, I don't think I can do it but the spark is back (Kinda wanna get YGO on Switch but idk if it's good or not)
...aaaand DL mentioned the Simorgh combo right after I wrote this ^^"
All I want for Christmas is for every card on this list to be banned
Noooooo
Fuck no lol.
I hope you only get coal
I was expecting him to say “Floodgates are cards that prevent your opponent from playing in some way, and are no fun whatsoever.”
As a speedrunning games fan, Nibiru ALWAYS made me chuckle, because it reminded me of Nobori, the current Super Mario 64 blindfolded MASTER........
A Highlander reference in Yu-Gi-Oh. Nice.
In the tcg is the polar opposite, Sky striker, mineburn, and sacky otk decks are carried entirely by mystic mine.
Master duel got me back in the game since 2016 but royal decree is a great flood gate excpecially for the trap heavy decks
I just subbed but that's a terrible way to ask lol. You rock man good video . Stop showing me banned this though I'm trying to learn
One video idea that might be different from the Top 10's but definitely everyone converting off Master Duel to IRL would want to see: Best cards to occupy Side Deck, as well as a video analyzing which staples are best for Siding out in games 2 and 3.
Please do a top 10 best monsters when their effects are negated (ala skill drain, axe of fools, etc.)
@@1krani I would give it some hard restriction to be activated, like this card can only be activated when you control more monsters than your opponent and then paying 1000 life points each standby phase to mantain it
@@benjaminbarraza8972
But then no one would play it. A lifepoint cost I could see, but turning its effect on yourself, giving your opponent free reign to do one- or two-monster combos? Ehhh, not too sure about that.
@@1krani The less play this card sees the better, more chance to get a balanced retrain of the card
@@benjaminbarraza8972
I'd settle for an errata of "(except in the Graveyard)". With that, Ice Hand, Fabled Catsith, Danger! Bigfoot!, and so many other backrow and face-up destroyers become viable, not to mention on-destruction summons like Giant Rat or the Shaddoll Fusion monsters.
Mistake can be annoying
Happy Holidays to the 5th best card reviewer 🎄🎉
Neat video! Thanks for uploading!
The best thing to combo with Royal Oppression was Cold Wave. You just shut off your own Oppression for 2 turns and then Summon all you want.
