So so funny and educational at the same time! One valuable piece of information: About 50% of women on systemic HRT will need vaginal estriol as the vaginal stuff does not get into women's bloodstream! Vaginal estriol has about 1/100th of the potency of one systemic HRT hormone dose!!! So good to know! Best wishes from Germany, Dr Casperson (you have a true supporter, fan and friend here in Bavaria♀️💕)!!!
Gosh you're underrated as a speaker on this topic, so funny and yet engaging academically. Maybe it's your fellow upper Midwestern roots? Lol But seriously you don't understand how much you helped me understand how testosterone/dhea especially is important for my predisposed hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome pelvic floor integrity. Gen X best Urogyn for sure! Thanks Dr. V for getting her to fly in.
But what if you can't use vaginal estrogen? I've tried it, but the systemic (not local) side effects are miserable. I thought I was going crazy at first and it took forever for me to figure out that it had to be the cream that was causing it all. I've been on HRT (an Estradiol patch and Progesterone capsule) for about six months. I'm hoping that will be enough, but I still feel like the body I have now isn't the one I have lived in my whole life.
Vaginal estradiol cream is such a LOW dose…compared to patch. I’m surprised it’s changing anything systemically. I can’t even tell much of a difference locally. I actually use my systemic transdermal cream vaginally (a very small amount) to notice a difference. It has DHEA compounded with the estradiol.
@@laurafuller8528 Right? Which is why I think it took me so long to figure out that I was reacting to the cream. It has to be something else that's in that cream because I'm tolerating the patch just fine. And to be honest, I didn't notice any difference locally with it either. That might've made it at least partially worth dealing with the side effects 😞
I asked my GP for an estriol cream and every time I used it I felt I was getting a urinary infection … I’ve never had a history of this So I stopped using it .. I tried to research the product on line and couldn’t find anything related to it being body identical … I’m deducing that it’s something else in the cream my body is reacting to … The cream is not going to waste though ….I’m using a small amount on my face and so far so good.
Excellent presentation! Thank you for all your work - you ARE saving lives😊😂😊

@@marthaj67 maybe a different formula? Compounded? Or DHEA suppository?

Maybe try the Estring. Perhaps a vaginal ring would work better for you?
Vaginal estrogen w/family genetics of heart disease? Can it be used?
Yes 😊
Can you use vaginal cream and Interosa both?
What a horrible term lol
