Hey Daniel! I’m currently working for the forest service in Montana and teach bear safety and just wanted to say something real quick! Bear bells are not the most effective bear deterrent. Since you’re a solo hiker with your pups, I recommend shouting. Shout every 5 minutes into the woods. If a bear can hear a bear bell, it’s too close. Your voice is a much better deterrent and can travel much further! You don’t have to take my advice of course, to each their own, but I just wanted to let you know. Keep carrying that bear spray though! :)
Oh for sure, it’s mostly for the pups when they run off :)

Thank you for talking about e-collars! It’s a common misconception that all e-collars shock and are abusive to dogs, and while they can if used incorrectly, they can be an amazing training tool/back-up for recall training when used right.

Everyone always tells me to get a bear bell so I don’t scare the bears. If they can’t hear me stomping and wheezing up a trail, I don’t know what to tell them. Plus I feel like the bear bell is a dinner bell for mountain lions. I would make a delicious meal for them. So I’m not sure if I should get it. 🤷🏻♀️

Living in Traverse City Michigan which is pretty far north, it’s a huge tourist destination and can confirm that people REALLY do no respect their environment. They fail to realize people do live here year round and have to deal with their damage.

I have never heard of Bear bells before! On my way to purchase some as I live in the middle of the woods in Pennsylvania and have bears everywhere! My pups are my kids, so anything to keep them safe.

Daniel, you have more product than any female I've ever known, I used to work for Chanel and Orlane and we received gratis,lol, I'd say if you are experiencing any breakouts it's probably due to too much product not cheese. You are gorgeous darling and less is more, but if it lifts your spirit, forget what I said above,lol.
