Love it haha, he wanted to go fishing so moves his entire family to Florida. My guy is living the dream.
Also, I grew up in Brandon, Florida and my friends and I ALL used to fish all the time. I caught a 58.5" Mahi Mahi in St Thomas, USVI, I've caught big Spanish mackerel, big red grouper, big barracuda, big red snapper, big redfish, big snook, big tripletail, big sheepshead, big triggerfish, even big spadefish, but I've never had big enough tackle to hook into a marlin. My dream fish is a big sailfish. They're just absolutely beautiful animals.

Man, last time I was in Florida in 2019 my dad and I took his boat out of Hernando Beach and the local bait shop didn't have any live shrimp, so we bought some frozen shrimp and I bought a couple dozen pinfish. We were trying to roam around the shore looking for mangrove snapper, and we did catch a couple, but it wasn't until we went out to the channel marker (in maybe 15 feet of water) that I threw out a pinfish and I caught a really nice cobia and a blacktip shark on some medium action Penn spinning rod with old monofilament line that was 10-12 lb test, but I tied on a steel leader obviously.

So that dredge is pretty much an A-Rig but for blue marlin. That is awesome!

Praying for you buddy. I fortunately haven’t had to deal with cancer but I have hit rock bottom almost to the point of death. It has a way of putting everything into perspective and it drew me closer to Christ. Don’t ever quite, thank the lord everyday for the breath in your lungs and just have faith in him!

I had the chance to go out for a chance at a blue marlin in Dominican Republic and came back with 25 mahi mahi and 1 blue marlin it truly was an experience

I used to work in this industry….and when I did I didn’t understand it to be honest. If you don’t touch a fish as far as I’m concerned it’s not landed. Rushing up to it and breaking the leader seems more like you lost the fish
