For less money you can build an lsx that will only rev 800 rpm or so less than the V10. But you will have way more grunt from a lsx..sound is in the ear of the beholder@@MARCO-rq2ph
I hope the company giving you some money to promote them. Without you i wouldn't know half of these kits out. Like vaydor, vale, and this. And much more.
Eh, it’s ok. The issue I have with it is the company touting the Audi v10 as its motor. They aren’t cheap to source, maintain or modify. Why not use the GM LS platform motors as their base engine choice, with the Audi 10 being an option. I feel like a lot more people would be interested in the car. Me, for one, as I have two LS3’s and a LS7, as well as a LM7 (5.3), all just sitting in my garage as I build them for fun. Heck, if you’re willing to do a little work, you can make well over the Audis 500 hp with the 5.3 for less than $1,500! It just seems like they priced themselves out of the market that is most likely to buy their kits. I predict, that without a LS engine option/availability, they will be out of business in less than 4 years. Hopefully, they will see the light. It really is a good looking car!
@@bigczad9869 ah, That makes sense! Thank you for clearing that up. In the E.U. I can understand it then, but in the U.S. the Audi V-10 is a 10-15K motor, if you source a used one…. I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know what it costs new…. Let’s just say: A lot! In the U.S. when we build a kit car, it’s usually so we can have something unique or different for a lot less money than other people pay for a more “average” performance car. Basically, if it costs more than a Corvette, it needs to outperform a corvette by every metric! Otherwise the Corvette just makes more sense… You know you built a truly great car when it costs a LOT less than a Corvette and still outperforms it by most (or ideally ALL metrics) metrics, but it’s pretty hard to out-build the major manufacturers, especially when it comes to things like “fit and finish”.
@@Yueymosthated Yes, but would you then have all the mounts for the V-10 and its associated transaxle? You would be almost dealing with a “swap” situation, I think. It would be sort of like getting an Audi R8-10 that had its motor and transaxle removed and you bought the rolling chassis. Having done more than a few engine swaps (a few of which I would later wish I had never started, once I got partway through!). I can tell you, it’s not always fun putting a motor in a place that it was never designed to be used. Rewarding, yes. Fun? Rarely. Now if the company were to offer a LS engine option (Or other easily sourced engine), I just feel like it would make more sense. And who knows, maybe they already have something like this in the works! Every company has at least one guy that will say “Hey, we could put an LS In that!” Trust me, I know. I’m that guy at my company….
Unlike the Audi v10, the engine from GM, the LS series can still be bought new, they are manufactured, and they are not so expensive, these engines have a large community, they have a very large amount of tuning. And the guys are just short-sighted and just took what was closer and in quite large quantities, due to the fact that the Baltic States until recently was a vacuum cleaner for the European used car market. Or in general, they took what was in the garage, and probably did it for themselves first, starting to build a frame around the Audi engine. And then suddenly a business plan appeared))). Everything is simple.
Very very nice front . As good as anything out there . The rear could use some more styling IMO . Looks a little bit kit car . It's still very nice though . Great work . I think other power plants will make it more accessible. Love these guys
I was waiting for this video to drop after Rhino popped up. That said, the interior could use a lot of work. Hope they offer a GT version at some point.
This thing is pretty cool, but I think they're making a mistake not using LS platform, or at least offering it as an option. As good as the R8 v10 engine is, you can get an LS7 for half the price and that would make it a lot more appealing to anyone seriously interested in building one of these. Otherwise, this puts it in price range of a Factory Five GTM and that's a much better car.
@@StandUpHubBrasil Depends on choice of crankshaft, and how evenly matched your exhaust headers are. $70k, nice kit, but makes me wish factory 5 still made the mid engine 818 for $12k & based on subaru wrx & use an sti built motor & bigger turbo for up to $20k so $35 total for 818kg car with 818hp.. thats koenegseg record fast 1hp/1kg.
I wonder how difficult it is to get this engine with a manual. I know it was offered, but they are rare and much more expensive now. As cool as having an Audi V10 would be, frankly I'd be fine settling for something a little cheaper but still as powerful, like an LS or Coyote build (or Voodoo) with a Tremec Magnum trans.
Its gorgeous for a kit car and the panel fitment looks great in the promos. The price is ridiculous though. You can buy a used Audi R8 V10 for the same price. The Audi R8 will have a nice interior to match its exterior and more safety equipment. The R8 can be daily driven.
"made of T6 aluminum"... T6 is the heat treat, not the alloy. My guess is that it's 6061-T6, but the picture at 0:49 looks like the aluminum portion is welded, rather than bonded which removes the heat treatment from the metal. I suppose it's possible that they anneal and then retreat the entire chassis, but what are the odds that a small start up company has the resources to do that? Nevertheless, looks like a great car! I want one
There is no metal production in this small country. Even I am sure that local universities do not produce specialists familiar with materials science. However, the Balts, when they entered the Soviet Union, always had a very developed motorsport, with an appropriate level of engineering in car teams, they made excellent racing cars out of boring Soviet cars of dubious quality. And in the years after independence, these countries became a source of very cheap European cars for their eastern neighbor, assembled from several broken-down cars. The garage business of assembling "saws" and converting "total"s to a running condition was very developed.
They may start with T6, and end up with a lower effective heat treatment after welding... specific results highly dependent on the alloy, of course. The Rhino Racing website specifies "6061T6", so your guess is correct.
You can drop a Lamborghini Huracan V10, which thats what im gonna do. Add some Italian inspired livery, and away we go!!!!!❤... you had me at A/C & Android Auto. 😮... with this car, and the Lithuanian backed WEC PORSCHE team kicking ass, im starting to appreciate Lithuanian gear heads. 🎉

Looks good, finish fit looks good enough, and the chassis design displayed in the video seemed pretty decent too. But ditch the overpriced V10 for something with lower mass, with off-the-shelf service parts - a Toyota V6 with a pair of turbos and a transaxle,.. or bring the price right down with V6 and FWD transaxle, adding a clutched supercharger, make it easy to drive light throttle around town, then an animal on the open road or at track days.
That price brings it in to Ultima territory as well as a few others, and it certainly won't beat those well established cars. Then, think of all the cars that are built already that can match it and what you're left with is a European pipe dream. I still love seeing them try of course, but I don't think this is gonna gain traction.
