Got mine about 2 weeks ago. The Vintage Cherry satin. Looks great & sounds fantastic. I really like the sound of the 85/15 "S" pickups. Played it through a Marshall half stack JCM 800 yesterday & these pickups can do just about anything. $499 is shocking.
@@JasonTMays yeaaa, when I was buying a guitar and looking at the st Vincent it was between that and a PRS and I got the st Vincent because I found a used one at $364 at the time. The PRS tho it was nice was way more then the st Vincent new for their lineups. The neck was my fav part about that PRS too
That's a bold move by PRS! Other companies are probably sending Paul a bunch of hate mail right now LOL! Hrere's a point I've not seen mentioned elsewhere; the birds on the SE CE24 models (including this one) are a mother-of-pearl type inlay. On the US made CE24 the birds are a solid inlay (same material as the side dots perhaps?). In other words, the SE models have fancier birds than the US version ;) Looking forward to catching your other videos~
I'd imagine other companies are not too keen about PRS making something that folks can afford. Also, I didn't notice that about the birds! good eye!!! And thank you!!! I've got a few videos in the works.
did it need any setup out of box? new to PRS guitars but mine makes a dull sound on bass ead string at first second and third frets, treble side seems ok
@@dasi2383 surprisingly no. Mine arrived perfect out of the box. I think we just tuned it up and it was good to go. However, we did get this from PRS so it could’ve been set up prior to them shipping it out to us.
Some of my favorite guitars are affordable ones. I have a MIM Tele from 2012 that I got for $350 new on sale, put MFD pups in it and it’s perfect. Recently got a MIJ Aerodyne for $699 and put a Ron Ellis Killa in the neck and it’s become a guitar I can’t put down. I have expensive guitars too, so it’s not price. Had plenty of high end guitars leave me cold too. What’s my point? No idea. Cool PRS though! Currently debating taking my bong out of storage but it’s such a pain to clean.
AGREED!!! I love cheap guitars especially when they're good. I still have my 40th anniversary Squier and It stacks pretty favorably against the player series.
Looks nice, but I did not like the sound. Too muffy, not open & clear like the USA CE24. PRS needs to make Pattern Thin necks for the SE models. Chunky wide thin neck is not good for me.
I mean to be fair, the USA CE24 is also 4x the cost of this version. With that in mind, I think it's a close approximation. But, Im just glad we can engage in dialogue on the internet and talk like adults, because the internet is wild. lol

@@JasonTMays yea, for $500 & invest in premium pickups (PRS TCI 85/15 or any Bareknuckle pickups), it will sound better. Good budget option 👍🏻
