No me canso de escucharlo...me traen preciosos recuerdos de mi profe el Gato Martinez luciendose en el Nor Tomarsa de la falda o en la colonia de cervezeros. Muy hermosa y sentida su ejecución amigo.
marvellous... love your laid back lines... and as always beautiful tone and recording... you are full of lovely subtle musical ideas... a treat to the ears
Ian........ once again thank you so very much for a delightful few minutes in a hectic day !! Such a wonderful standard that we all know and love and you do it great justice. Also, despite playing this for years....... I did not know the history and origin of the song (shame on me!)..... thanks again!
Thanks Udo. Relaxed? Yes I find it theraputic to improvise, so much fun. I should be relaxed, I've been doing it all my adult life. I'm learning a 'new' song right now. It's called "My Sin". Annette Hanshaw recorded it. It's on UA-cam. Lovely old fashioned melody and chords. Good lyrics too, just a pity I can't sing.
Ya'll saying that he needs to change his setup or practice his mouthpiece, it's just a little bit of spit sound, which can be really amplified by subtone. Chill.
Very nice Ian. Thank You. Was wondering about your equipment. Could you please touch a bit on your set up. Sax, mouthpiece, reed, mic...etc. Thanks again. Best regards.
Phillippe, ce que j'ai fait pendant toute ma vie a été d'écouter le travail de nombreux grands improvisateurs qui utilisent la mélodie comme point de départ plutôt que sur les accords seuls. Zoot Sims, Stan Getz, Ben Webster, Lester Young, Illinois Jaquet, Coleman Hawkins, etc.
Ian Boyter Thanks for the reply so fast! I like Rico plastic reeds too. Been playing them for the last two years. I play a selmer USA 162 made in the early 80s. Great horn I love it. But reeds never seem to cooperate some are good others suck. Just ordered 2 boxes of Rico orange. Some say they play great on a tone master. 2 1/2 and 3s. Hope I like them. Love the way you play Ian. I've been playing 35 years and must say that you have a great way for teaching me how to get to another level
This would sound better in a dampened studio or double bed quilts around you, to many surfaces for the sound to be bouncing around. Nothing on your playing it is terrific, you are not doing yourself the justice you deserve. All the best :)

@@IanBoyterJazzsax I really like the way you play the saxophone. Please practice many more songs to introduce them here.

Autumn leaves is not jazz originally.. it is a pop french song of 1945😊
Most of jazz standards are adopted of other genres.
Stan Getz is back 👌👌👌🎷🎷🌈
If only, Mex.
Bravo 👍👏☺
Thanks Pat
Je rêve de pouvoir improviser comme ça ! Mais comment apprendre ?
