We hope you enjoy this beautiful performance by Beegie Adair. She was a treasure to the Nashville jazz community and the Nashville Jazz Workshop in particular. Let us know in the comments where in the world you're watching from!
We lost this icon yesterday, January 23, 2022. She shone through until her last breath, and now she can play forever. Thanks for the songs, memories, and lovely times you shared with us.
I am 81, and I am listening jazz last almost 70 years. I never heard - until now- about this lady, but I like her playing very much. ( Please, apologie my bad english. Greetings from Prague.)
Hi Antonin I'm 88 in a couple of weeks I've been listening for most all my life great stuff from this lady. When I need a lift I go to UA-cam and play one of the old ones. Just recently found Louis Armstrong 1969 In Berlin it blew me away give it a whirl
I was a young recording engineer in Nashville during the 80s and worked with Beegie and her husband Billy frequently. They were both excellent musicians. More importantly, they were genuinely nice people. They were classy, with a cool and sophisticated edge that made them stand out from the rest of us. Billy called her “Beeg” and I always loved hearing him say “hey Beeg” during our recording sessions. If you love Beegie’s music, I hope that you will love it even more by knowing what a kind, companionate, and wonderful person that she really was.
There is no such thing as 'Late' when it comes to music; you arrive when you arrive; It's a wonderful feeling, to be captured, especially by brilliance such as this; and to be able to share it too; just makes it that much sweeter.

I've been listening to different variations of "Autumn Leaves" for a long long time, but I can say that this is the best live one I've ever listened! Played very softly, filled with emotions. Now whenever I listen to other Autumn Leaves I can't resist coming back for this.
I think it’s the maturity of their age... the older the person the more his brain experiences emotions that in musicians can be expressed like this! I really doubt a really young musician can express such a rich emotional scale in a piece, no matter how good his/hers technique is. I just love this video.
So I'm a 17 year old, just a normal girl but for piano classes I have to play autumn leaves with just chords and melody in front of me. I never had done jazz before or really listened to it. I mostly listen to Kpop, pop, rap, hip hop and r&b music. I am glad they let me play jazz for the first time because now I can finally taste the beauty of Jazz music and get inspiration for my first ever jazz piece!
Yes, jazz is definitely something else. I played classical saxophone through middle school, but playing on the jazz band in high school has been an even better experience.
Go for it. Jazz can let your soul soar to heights maybe more than any other music. It is Freedom, and constant creation. When you start to get a hold on it, you'll never play a single piece twice the same way. It's hard work, but it's worth it. Listen to all the greats. This beautiful lady is an excellent example. Good luck, and bon voyage!
I was about 10 years behind this music, but my Dad introduced me to it when he took me to my first big band concert and I too fell in love with it!!!!!!!!!! And I agree with you the music on the radio today is an extreme crime when you can't even understand the words that they are singing.
@@TheRichsaxman, I live in the Orlando area, and we have access to two public radio stations that play mostly jazz and the obligatory NPR news. I love it, I really love it.
ah every time i listen to this it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, imagining what life would be in some distant village in a wooden house in front of a fireplace with a blanket on, a cup of tea/glass of wine in my hands and snow falling slowly outside. Or in another reality - in some secret restaurant or cafe, wearing a shiny 80-s style dress, sitting in the corner around a tiny table with the man I deeply love, having amazing conversations and then dancing in the middle of the restaurant. Music is what makes us live other lives, truly
Having reached 81 yrs... this piano jazz sound has always been my favorite - my time with a man I deeply love has passed... but this music alone gives me a respite from the hard times we are having in this world. That and my belief in God ...!!!

@@reynaldon1295 Ah yes-I was a teen myself in the mid-60s. I remember it well-that was the time when a beetle changed from being something you stomped on if it got into your bedroom, to a group of 4 lovable mop-tops, who got the name for their group by changing the 2nd e in "beetle" to an a, to reflect the fact that what they were doing was creating music, which as we all know, has a beat. Thus the Beatles were born! That's the group, not literally the lads themselves of course. No, each member of the Beatles entered the world in the early 40s. I wish this style of music would become popular again, especially in cocktail lounges. This music induces you to "level up" and at least try to act elegantly. People have gotten too casual, and to meet someone with "old school" class is rare today.
I watched this video many times and always enjoyed it. I've been thinking I want to listen to Beegie live one day, and I read someone's comment saying "RIP Beegie".... She passed away this past Sunday. I am so sad and heartbroken. Thank you for the wonderful music Beegie. Rest in peace, ma'am.

This Beegie Adair Trio gives me a relaxed and calm feeling in both my body and mind. It's a very Great threesome ! A great pianist, a perfect double bass and a great drummer. All in all, I give a big 10 for this fantastic Jazz concert and also for the many musical numbers they play in the Jazz area. This is certainly a great instrumental trio.

I loved this. Only just discovered her and her trio. Knocked out. Beegie weaves jazz magic from the simplest tune. Never over the top. So tasteful !! Thanks alot.
Unfortunately, I just learn BG past away in January last…she his the most talented pianist I ever heard in my life. She plays standards like anybody else. She is smooth, involved and a master in her class. Most of all, she keeps remembering me, my mother, who has been also a wonderful pianist, and a great lover of music from the 30’ the 40’ the 50’… Cheer’s to these wonderful women who have made me a better man… RF
The greatest performances are those that challenge our biased patterns of recognition and stand out like a complete surprise. Looking at these three you might not expect much, but then you’re treated to this absolute jewel of an interpretation on a classic theme! I loved how she casually looked at that note (an autumn leaf) in the middle of the performance, too. Precious stuff.
10-5-2022 this video keeps repeating so maybe everyone listening to play her songs as a tribute to her. She passed this last Jan.2022. My. parents were musicians and singers and artists, so her music is so special. This song is very sentimental to me because my mother passed in September, 1997 and me and my siblings still play her own composed music. She played piano and organ. My father played every instrument. My siblings, children and grandchildren are all musicians, singers artists so memories are beautiful I truly miss Ms.Adiar and trying to get her albums. Thank you Utube for not forgetting her among the great pianist and musicians. Thank you to my Entire family, who taught me and my siblings to appreciate all. if The Arts and diversity of genres I miss them All this is a beautiful song and very sentimental but happy memories. I would have liked to have metMs.Adair and her husband and band. My parents were concert musicians but played all genres. This song and so many of Ms.Adair keeps my parent's spirits close. Listening to Ms.Adair is as if she is here in my home, along with my parents and their musician friends. What a beautiful way to begin October. Thank You
Beegie gave the world a huge amount of the most beautiful instrumental (piano) music you could ever want. Her style of playing is perfect to have in the background at a party or just for some alone time. She played for so, so many years…right up until her death. There will never be another like her.
This is absolutely the most incredible performance of this piece I have seen. She effortlessly plays the piano. It seems as if her fingers are playfully dancing on the keys, like she is telling them "it's okay, I'm in control here". I know I'll never play like that, but if I could come even close, say half way, I'd be happy! I may have to make a trip to Nashville just to see her play..
She just passed away. The world has lost a great talent! The music literally ooozed from her fingers! And her band!!?? Incredible. Wish I could have heard them live!
Beegie I can’t thank you enough for filling our lives with such beautiful music. When I introduced my parents, who are in their 80s , to your music, they said it was gift from God. Now that gift has returned but the music lives on for generations more to share. RIP.
I have been a jazz enthusiast for years but my love for music spans a variety of genres from classical, to ragtime and early American music to the big band era. Years ago when I was driving I would tune in to NPR, and listen to Marion McPartkand and the array of guests she had on and played with . She had an warmth and kindness , that I found similar to Beggie as I discovered her later in years. I loved the comments by the engineer who worked with both Beggie and her husband about what a class act she was . I am 86 and whenever I want to hear soft relaxing and incredible interpretations, I always tune into Beegie. She was a one of a kind RIP
Now she can meet my father in heaven. He died last october. We played her music in the hospital for him. I was used to hear him playing piano anytime. I miss him so much. He used to say, every human is a living library, full of memories. Now he can't tell me no anymore stories of his childhood in the war, he can't tell me anymore about his life as a musician in the 50ties and 60ties. I hope, someday we'll make music together again.
May she Rest in Eternal Peace, knowing she was truly loved and admired by everyone she ever met. This selection of Autumn Leaves is so beautiful. Love this immensely. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Oh man….I just found out that Beegie passed back in January. I just found her about 2 years ago… I’m going to be sad all day now. I could listen to her play all day long. God be with her family and I hope to meet her one day in heaven.

Tears, my eyes teared up listening to this, they are all gifted, but she is the master. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your comment. Tears to my eyes too.... miss Jenny
My sentiments EXACTLY!!
This is a very sad music, memories of losing the loved one, and she played so beautifully
I agree, bit still beautiful. Brings memories, good bad painful, but still
@@dirklammertse4174 Disagree, beautiful, not sad.
Not sad, beautiful
@@waldemarroman1295 for you. That’s oké. But not for me
Not only a wonderful pianist, but a gracious mentor to many young musicians. Sail On in joy Beegie
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing (and listening)!
Beegie Adair is a musical giant and needs to be heard more often.
RIP Beegie. Thank you for being such a vibrant rennaissance woman.
Can't get enough of this rendition. Such timing and phrasing, so perfect.
We love Beegie! Thank you so much for listening!
I can't get enough either. I have 6 of her CD's that I ordered from Amazon. I just ride 😎 and chill.
Stay safe!
Spot on Ron!

Oh my God! What a marvellous ensamble and harmonious music sounds . It’s a wonder
It s so wonderfull
What a beautiful rendition of Autumn Leaves 💖.
Actually, the best out there, I'd say...
Thank you UA-cam for letting me hear this lady play some of the coolest jazz I've heard in a long time. (Dave Brubeck excepted :) )
Fantastic playing. I can't count how many times I've been replaying this. This is so good. I am 32 yo maybe I am just an old soul 😂.
The most beautiful Autumn Leaves of my entire life. Im almost 82. Next January. Beegie is great.
Wasn't Beegie just amazing? Thank you so much for watching!
In 2022, I never heard about them since now! A simple great trio. Thanks guys!
The best jazz piano performance of Autumn Leaves on the internet.
Here is the second one ua-cam.com/video/8yc4Tv9ma5g/v-deo.html
Since I first heard Her about 5 years ago she has been and still is my Favorite! R.I.P. BEEGIE.
I could spend every day of my life just listening and feeling
Go to eBay and buy som BeeGee. She has recorded just about everything worth recording.
I can't imagine such effortless perfection.
Peter Hyatt Why we listen, simply sublime
Beegie can't live whitout playing piano. Just like people can't live whitout breathing. She always plays, that why it's easy for her.
Emotional, talented, timeless 🎶🎵❤️
Hi Vita, greetings from Ireland ☘️. It’s lovely music 🎼 🎶 . Best wishes for a lovely week 😊🙏 Michael

this video keeps repeating so maybe everyone listening to play her songs as a tribute to her.
She passed this last Jan.2022.
My. parents were musicians and singers and artists, so her music is so special. This song is very sentimental to me because my mother passed in September, 1997 and me and my siblings still play her own composed music. She played piano and organ. My father played every instrument. My siblings, children and grandchildren are all musicians, singers artists so memories are beautiful
I truly miss Ms.Adiar and trying to get her albums.
Thank you Utube for not forgetting her among the great pianist and musicians.
Thank you to my Entire family, who taught me and my siblings to appreciate all. if The Arts and diversity of genres I miss them All
this is a beautiful song and very sentimental but happy memories.
Thank You
I am addicted to this lady’s fantastic musical style. I listen to her on Spotify on my headphones.
Me too, but on My Ipod.
Beegie is simply awesome. Dick Tynan Dublin Ireland 2020
This lady has a way of making you feel the love she's playing with, She plays with love and it doesn't get any better than that!
Beegie gave the world a huge amount of the most beautiful instrumental (piano) music you could ever want. Her style of playing is perfect to have in the background at a party or just for some alone time. She played for so, so many years…right up until her death. There will never be another like her.
Absolutely! She is so dearly missed, but we're so fortunate that she gave the world so much music. Thank you for sharing.
This lady has soul and talent.
Sorry to have discovered her so late - thankfully her legacy of great arrangements have been preserved
People have no age 、no race, no nationality no jender no class to enjoy any excellent music, l feel,Thanks♥️
Listening to your music makes life beautiful again. Thank you!
Tout à fait!
I may have to make a trip to Nashville just to see her play..
come on down @mcalb clan ! Beegie's next performance is Sept. 24!

That lady knows her stuff, she sounds amazing 😍
She just passed away. The world has lost a great talent! The music literally ooozed from her fingers! And her band!!?? Incredible. Wish I could have heard them live!

The most emotional "Autumn Leaves" I believe.Fantastic!
I've had the pleasure of hearing the Beegie Adair Trio live three times in London. Such artistry and such a wonderful sound.
They murdered this! An instant classic when they recorded it
A lovely harmonious arrangement masterfully played by a very talented lady.
Harmonious
incomparable, classy, genius. Long lives.
Absolutely Absolutely Brilliant and Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏
Never had the pleasure of hearing this sensational trio before. Shame on me! Fantastic tight sound. Love it!
I also think so. How fantastic! From Japan.
Grandma is an artist at work on that piano, those old fingers sing pure experienced jazz.
Oh man….I just found out that Beegie passed back in January. I just found her about 2 years ago… I’m going to be sad all day now. I could listen to her play all day long. God be with her family and I hope to meet her one day in heaven.
Marvelous version, what a pianist! thank you! Hope you are all safe and we will soon stand for our rights to go back to these wonderful places!
Beautiful rendition of a true classic. This trio is immaculate! All three players show immense command of their craft. My compliments to the Beegie Adair Trio.

I only discovered her a few years ago but I listen to Beegie a lot. Love her ........
It's hard not to fall in love with Beegie Adair.
1:30 that transition from just piano and bass to all of them together playing the main melody is just amazing
Took me by suprise but gave me chills!
She lives FOREVER!!! all those amazing recordings and video we have to treasure forever! Playing some lovely tunes in Heaven - RIP Beegie we will miss you. xx
