I think his aggression is more against stupidity and blatantly false statements that end up making him extremely frustrated. People love seeing him riled up and he mostly enjoys getting to that level in conversations that are actually of substance. I think the only thing that really upsets him is the dumb statements people pass off as absolute truth that can easily be disproven with minimal effort like reading for a few minutes.
@@MurdocEd I wrote a fucking essay. I used to be a pretty big fan of Destiny's and watch his debates a lot. I still have tremendous respect for him and I tune in occasionally, but over time I've found it more and more difficult to watch his debate content. He clearly cares a great deal about the truth and I think he does a great job of keeping himself open minded while simultaneously identifying when others are making shitty arguments. However, the thing that started to bother me is the degree to which he prioritizes pushing his takes over the feelings of others. I understand that he needs his debates to be entertaining for his viewers and thus there's an even greater incentive for him to make jokes at the expense of his opponent, but I still feel that he tends to be a bit heavy handed. This can be great when his opponents kind of deserve to get shitted on, like when he debated NoBullshit or that time he got 5 v 1'd in a call for hours and gaslit until Asmongold came in lmao. However, sometimes I just end up feeling like he's needlessly antagonizing a completely normal person. I feel like his falling out with Hasan is a prime example of that. If I remember the chronology correctly, it started out with Destiny calling Hasan out for hastily and erroneously reporting on a case about the police shooting a black kid or something. Up to this point Hasan and Destiny seemed to be on pretty good terms and I think it might even be fair to say they were actually friends. At the outset, I think Hasan was a bit defensive but he also seemed eager to agree with Destiny and acknowledged to some degree that he made a mistake. Either that debate between them or the next one ended up devolving into a pretty vicious argument centering in part around police brutality and I just remember literally watching their friendship get nuked almost irreparably in the span of like 2 hours because Destiny couldn't resist aggressively shooting down Hasan's points and making jokes at his expense. I respect Destiny for his commitment to telling people when he disagrees with them, no matter how close they are to him, but I think when dealing with an otherwise decent person you're kind of being a dick if you try to escalate things into making fun of/insulting them. You can make your point without doing that. Any time I hear Hasan talk about politics it makes me cringe. He's very tribalistic/partisan and he makes shitty erroneous arguments. However, I've become a degenerate mizfrog and seen more of Hasan's interactions with people outside of political debates. He seems like a genuinely nice dude and I think he truly believes zealously parroting every liberal talking point is somehow improving the world. If we're being honest most of us know people like Hasan. Good people, likable people who become completely insufferable cringe lords when they talk about politics. It's completely fair to disagree with them and to explain your points, but I don't really think their irrationality on some political issue (assuming they lack malice) justifies antagonizing and shitting on a person. The Hasan thing was also one of the early signs of whole Destiny arc where he ended up falling out with seemingly every leftist influencer in existence almost. By the time all of that reached full force I was already tuned out so I'm not sure, but I get the impression some of those were salvageable relationships Destiny destroyed in a similar manner. I think most people perceive this tendency of Destiny's to shit on people who he believes are wrong about something important in a heavy-handed manner and they find it off-putting/intimidating because they're probably aware of their own fallibility. Anyway, TL;DR I think the perception of Destiny as an antagonistic debate lord is somewhat justified.
I will never understand the genuine fear that non-political streamers have about interacting with Destiny. Well, I get that most are fearful of potential fan backlash through just association with Destiny because of his "hot takes". But like, Destiny knows how to be "normal" if the environment is just chill and cool. I feel like everyone assumes that Destiny is always on his "Political Debate Lord" mode 24/7 so they just tip toe around every little fucking thing they say or about to say to avoid "conflict" or being put on the spot. It annoys me how so many streamers have mythologized Destiny into this "scary Boogeyman" when it's so far from the truth when he steps outside of his typical realm of work lol
It's not because of his hot takes is just his personality and intimidating vibe he can give off. When someone is a bit more sensitive about criticism it can be scary being near Destiny, since at any point in time he can mock you in a clever way

Interesting 🤔 Destiny claims he doesn’t like animals yet everytime i see him near a cat 🐈 he gets so happy and seems to chill out. 👀 I’m on to you Destiny.
If I remember his take correctly, it's not that he doesn't like animals, it's that he doesn't give them moral value, and sees pets as the property of their owner, meaning the owner can morally do whatever they want to with their animal. If you derive pleasure from torturing cats, he doesn't see torturing cats as immoral, however, it seems he derives pleasure from being around cats, and not torturing them. I'd also like to note that he's also said that while he doesn't see it as immoral to torture animals, he wouldn't want to be around anybody who finds pleasure from that, because it indicates psychological problems that are pretty concerning.
@@gotchathespider7850 also, the biggest part of his system is being obligated to not cause other people bad experiences or however you phrase it and the established social contract is that animal torture is bad and causes most people discomfort.
@@gotchathespider7850 I think he probably likes cats better than other animals. Have you saw his old streams when he’s interacting with Aslan the cat? I think meat eaters have to bite the bullet on a lot of yikesy claims that they don’t necessarily want to defend. Vegans moralize everything to the point where if you aren’t vegan they will claim you hate animals. So as a non vegan animal lover I don’t personally judge Destiny for that take. It was the debate against Vegan Gains right?
@@gotchathespider7850 a good example of what I’m trying to say is the Penguinz0 vs Vegan Gains situation. Obviously Charlie doesn’t hate animals he was defending them, but VG claimed that Charlie as a meat eater is a hypocrite for criticizing that Korean UA-camr who ate/tortured living squid 🦑 and various other sea creatures on camera for millions of subscribers to see. This perceived hypocrisy is the reason Destiny just says fuck it and bites the bullet on these things to win the debate, because it’s otherwise impossible to argue against vegans like VG if you don’t.
@@WarningBFG-isHiring I watched the video, I really like the Green brothers a lot. There is one part where he says if you are a speciesist and admit it and don’t feel any shame about it the conversation is over. I think that’s what I am, I care a hell of a lot more about the suffering of humans dogs and cats than I do about cows chickens or pigs. I don’t care 🤷♀️ if that’s hypocritical. Everyone is a hypocrite about something. Vegans are hypocrites about alot of things. Like the fact that alot of animals have to die through agricultural farming because of pesticides etc. Vegans can get fucked.

@@yidavv destiny and miz are also like the only 2 streamers ive watched. If me and this guy have similar experiences maybe there not as far apart as we think lol
I've never laughed so fucking hard omg.
Both Destiny and Melina looked at the same exact time.
32:08 I can NOT be the only who noticed...
When Miz grabs his head and groans "Oh my god", Melina goes from smiling to a surprised look, then a weird look... I can NOT be the only one to notice...
Unless I'm just not caught up on the Destiny relationship lore...
You can see melina staring directly into mizkifs soul cuz she knows hes imtimidated

This is what happens when you put an alpha and a sigma in the same room
Destiny with the gamer posture.

It's like toxic behavior masqueraded as critique towards Miz.
I think he's just like that infront of miz's audience to give them a show.
