@@homemend I do have a question if u can answer it I'm fixing to buy a house just south of Jonesboro Arkansas and it needs a new fence cause I've got 3 good size dogs one of which is a husky. But the fence it has is no where big enough for them to run if that makes sense. But I also have a learning disability I'm adhd/add and some of things ur talking bout in how to build a fence and gate are jabberish to me I don't understand can u put it in real easy terms to where a 3rd grader can understand? Especially on how to build a gate? The fence that's there now is no where big enough and it's incomplete so I'll have to build a bigger fence around it and take the old fence down as it's a small picket fence and some chain link. Is there lumber and such I need to look out for and good buy for the price that lasts long or cheap that lasts long for a wood fence?

Long enough to save for an upgrade? Thanks so much for all you do!

I'm with you, when a gate sags it sags at the hinges not at the frame, amirite? I put a kickstand on the side opposite the hinge to prevent it from sagging. HD also sells casters on a spring that are a good idea if you have a level surface.

Dont mean to be one of those “brace nuts”and really just trying to offer some good advice, but if you’ll research a little bit on the differences between a “compression brace” (the kind you used here) and a “tension brace” (when the bottom of the brace is on the latch side of the gate), you will understand why a gate brace should be a compression brace, if ya dont like call backs lol
