    How do you prevent rodents from getting in the shed through gaps in the door? I have a similar style door and with the changes in temperature the gaps expand or contract

      Metal plating on the threshold/sill usually helps. At least down at the bottom where they're most likely to try and slip in. Metal is much harder for their little claws to grab onto in order to climb up and in. It also serves as an edge protector!

    Great video!!! I have a question about the spacers. If you use 1/2" spacers, wouldn't the doors bang into each other? b/c if I measure the width minus 1/2" (divided x2) to build the doors, wouldn't I need 1/4" spacers? I'm just checking b/c I'm about to build my doors and I want to make sure I double check these measurements. Thanks!!!!

    Very nice, well-done video. Love those hinges... and clamps are so helpful. I am building my 8x12 shed. I framed for a standard pre-hung 3' door, then I shopped and checked the prices. Maybe I buy one for $300 or just build one like you did. I'm already going over budget ( I don't even have a budget). Do you hate cutting plywood with a skill saw? I sure do. I think before I start building my house next year, I will build a radial arm saw that spans at least 8'. Then just throw the plywood on the table and let the motorized saw do the rest while I stand back and watch.

    • @EverydayShed
      @EverydayShed  11 днів тому

      It’s not easy to cut plywood with circular saw, but if you use clamps and a straight edge it’s okay… now, the important tip is to have a new blade. Good luck on your build.

    @roycox4415 Місяць тому

    So 3/4 less than opening height and 1/2 less than opening width and then divide the remaining width distance by two to get each doors width measurements?

    Half lap joints would make it even stronger, but your design should work fine with the panels sandwiching the framing.
    Also, with that style latch you need to drill a hole and thread some string/cordage through and tie it to the top of the latch to prevent getting locked in. I've typically seen people use a barrel latch on the top of the left side door to attach it to the top of the door frame for added stability.
