Drew. Put a ring on that woman already. She's wonderful! Oh, and this camera looks WAY better than I originally thought it would. It's a little spendy without knowing how resilient it is to taking hard hits, but I'm excited to see how you turn this one in to dust at some point. I shall learn through your pain. Thank you my friend!
I'm super excited about the idea of getting back down under 650 grams like when I flew a Session. So much of the performance and durability of the quad follows the size of the camera. A bigger camera means you need to carry more battery. Carrying a bigger camera and battery means you have more mass. More mass means more momentum. More momentum means you need more carbon. More carbon means more weight again. I know you can't speak for the durability of the camera yet, but the overall durability of a quad that is 100 grams lighter again will be awesome. But I am disappointed to say that I haven't had a real quad with a GoPro in the air since March. I figure I won't be upgrading/sidegrading until I have to file a claim on a smashed GoPro, and at this rate I am bummed out to say that it will probably take quite a while! :(
@ok go I'm not sure how you know who provides my camera insurance, but I always order my new camera as soon I break the previous one. I don't wait for the check (or Amazon gift card?!) from the insurance company to show up! :)
Something funky is going on with the lens distortion. I can't tell what it is but it feels weirder than superview. Kinda looks like 360 footage, maybe it's the wider angle
OK, so I (Camera Butter) thinking of making some accessories for this camera. What do you think is needed most? ND filters? lens protector? Replacement lens kit?
They could just put 20 grams more of internal battery and we would be all so happy. I don't need a color screen in the back, put it on a external module, I need an SD card slot. Come on DJI you are always giving me almost what I want.
@@PortalFPV The doors can break, the o-rings get damaged or lost and there is no easy way to repace either. DJI could do this and it would propably be ok but I still think the connector is the better solution.

I keep a cable in my bag anyway so I can use Betaflight in the field without a laptop, and could just pop one of my other camera SD cards in.
@@PortalFPV OH, I knew that iOS for iPad couldn't use external drives til recently (or still not?) but I never considered iPhone doesn't allow it either. I was thinking there were lightning USB drives even.
Crazy good backwards flying. Surprised you didn't crash more often. At least with your skills the stabilization is very good. (Much worse in the dark though).
Thanks for another review of this cam. Great flying! :) But these 22GB of internal storage are really a joke for such a high priced cam. Really a no go. And the battery runtime of about 15mins at 4k/60fps is also a pain in the a*s. That means i need to buy another used Session 5 to get a good and durable cam for freestyle.
Could you make a review for caddx peanut on freestyle? There is no videos on UA-cam testing it in extreme conditions like freestyle. Congratulations for your channel!
Well first of all, we need to rally Botgrinder to get a magnetic chin implant to mount this thing. Second, I think the hero quality is better. But last, I still love watching your vlogs and flying dude. Keep up the good work, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on why you went back to the ix12. I recently got the tango II, and still struggling to not go back.
Also- your flying is insane in this. Didn’t really notice until halfway through but damn bro. Still a neck-and-neck race between you and Bubby on who my favorite pilot is lol. I think it’ll always be a tie though tbh
Folks, I have a new frame similar to Drib's. I'm worried using it because I think the carbon part where fpv camera is mounted can break easily. Is my assumption correct when it crashes? Btw, my friend's DJI Action 2 camera specifically the back side broke after a crash :(
Yo Drew, where can I get my hands on that action 2 mount you used for the Skyliner? I need one for my Skyliner. Not a whole lot of mounts available for this camera yet. But Damn! This camera has made me almost a good pilot. Soooo much better performance with a 55g camera. Another bonus is the wind noise cancelation of this camera, which is incredible imho.
When I am I'm a fairly remote situation and need to be light weight that's how I deal with footage I transfer to my phone and carry an ssd to load off everything to from my phone

One thing I don’t get: why is there a screen on the main module? There’s one on the secondary module. I’d MUCH rather have a hot swap battery or SD card than a screen, and I’m sure at least one of those could be added by removing the screen.
DJI sells "modules". $75 for the battery module (which is how you charge the actual camera. You cannot charge the camera without a module as the main camera has no usb input at all). Then they have a $170 battery/screen module that charges, adds battery life, and has the sd card slot. One of the main reasons i'm steering clear of this camera. If you want longer flight times, you need to add the magnetic module which wont fit on a 5" without looking goofy, odd, or unsafe.
The goat of flow can still fly. The price is what will define this one for me. Couple of runcam orange is 200. Rather an SD card plus get some nd filters an a little editing can go a long way in this hobby. Great review look forward for updates....
@@FlyingPenguinDrones yes that is true but can't afford to have 3 go pros. I can afford 3 runcams though. I'll take a little extra editing. Good insight.
I haven't scrolled through all the comments, so maybe someone said this: you don't need a computer to offload the internal memory clips. You can just move the internal memory clips to the sd card in the battery module after attaching. So, while the camera battery is recharging do the transfer too. Leave the computer at home. The sd card can be 256 GB's. That feature was available day one. The battery module with sd card slot is included , it's not an add-on.
oooooh jeez night video is like super bad :P the jello is like on a cheap hd cam from 6 years ago or something. If you don't care about hyper smooth and 120fps, you can get better footage with a caddx orca , lol.

Low light is trash especially with all the jitters in the footage. For drift logistically this doesn’t seem like a good fit but if you are just messing around I think this would be awesome.
