I bought the estate a while ago..nice bottle, good box. Price was oke. Like 250 euro. I will order the 12 y old sherry cask as well, It's pretty affordable at the moment. If you can get them. Please try the brugse whisky company bottles..the canastra sherry cask and champagne cask were really nice when i tasted them at a whisky tasting. Didn't expect belgium whisky to be so nice. Problem is these cask were sold out in 13 seconds. Managed to get 1 each..
Wonderful presentation Mark. 🥃 I agree with you in that the 12 year old Sherry Oak expression is the best of the bunch. Here in SoCal, a 750ml bottle can be had for as low as $83 and at 43% ABV.

Very enjoyable review Mark but what on earth was that noise? I like Macallan and I've been drinking it since the 1980s, but the prices are so ridiculous I don't buy it any more with one exception. I have a second home in the mountains north east of Malaga and on my way to it, is a cafe/bar/restaurant a couple of miles inland from the coast. It's a real roadhouse kind of place which is enormously popular with the locals. Tucked away behind their bottles on the bar shelf was (am I seeing things?) a bottle of Macallan 12 bottled at 43%. So I settle down and order a tapa of chicken croquets and ask for a glass of Macallan 12 without ice. (When you order without ice in Spain they fill it up to the same level anyway.) The waitress kills the bottle and I have about 20cl of Macallan 12 in my glass for $6 euros. It worked a treat with the croquets and garlic mayo. On my last visit I saw that they have more Macallan and I'm probably the only person buying it. It's by far the best drink they have and completely out of place in such an establishment but it has reminded me how good Macallan is. Sitting outside a dusty bar in Andalucia with trucks pulling up, enjoying my tapas and Macallan 12 (43%), with it's connection with Andalucia and its sherry industry, was quite thought provoking. Outside of this idyllic spot the general market for Macallan is for rich people in suits hoping to impress. What a shame. Cheers. WT
There is just too many to choose at such steep prices .Would love someone to send you a sample from the 50s or 60s just to see if the age factor is that good . SLANJ SIR.
I have been lucky enough to try a lot of 1940's and 50's bottlings and older 30 yrs and they were stunning. I have not bought a bottle of Macallan for coming on a decade now and I suppose I should revisit the old friend I lost touch with!
No age statement and so much money spent on packaging! Terribly commercialized corporate culture! Save the dumb packaging and drop the prices by $50 then everyone would be happier. Liked the 12 Sherry and the Harmony. Harmony is like a desert in liquid form, but the $290 USD price tag not worth it!!!
the colour is most likely fake since they have the tendency to add colour and chill filter... Macallan like Rolex is ridding on a reputation that has expired as far as I am concerned.

Yeah, sorry about the noise. I only found out in post-production and was unable to fix it... Got me a new mic though. Should be better going forward.
