Thinking about just doing an oil cooler delete
Imagínate lo mismo pero en una dodge ram van seria espectacular😊
How do you fish that line underneath easily back to where it bolts on??
Good video, thanks Marc. Getting ready to do this on my AWD Astro. Done it before on 2WD, but wanted to see any differences for the AWD. Looks like you were able to get to the support bracket bolt without lowering the front axle.
Love ya marc. Thanks for being with me and giving me the opportunities to experience the good things in life. You have forever changed my life and given me the motivation to do the things I have. Rest in peace marc, I will never forget you.
Very Cool! 😎
Good info., Thanks. One thing I learned 'somewhere' on UA-cam and only tried once (on an a Honda) was to drive a nail through the oil filter, creating a small hole and let the oil drip out of that nail hole before removing the filter. That prevents the typical gushing of oil when you pull the filter off. Worked on the Honda quite well and I assume it will work on my Astro Van - where the filter is arranged vertically - even better. Might be worth a try for others to consider.
Good explanation how to, on the hoses. I getting ready to replace the original oil cooler lines on my 1998 Astro AWD. Any other advice you have removing, installing, how the car sits (I'm limited as I am disabled vet) is appreciated. I'm using a jack on the drivers side so as to give me some room. I see too, you were using a 10mm wrench on the bolt that holds the support for both hoses underneath? Okay, glad you got it fixed. Thanks for your efforts and clear and understandable demo.
Just delete these lines and save your time , $ and motor..
Would you recommend that if someone was gonna drive cross country lol
Howdy Mark, approximately how long did it take you to complete this?
Cool video! Thanks! I see no floor stands or wooden blocks to support the vehicle if something was to happen to the jack.....?
I was nervous your lug nuts were going to give out before the axle nut Lol. On mine they are exposed i think id leave the wheel and weight as a back up if mine was that tight. Great video though
really ???
I just bought my 97 Astro with plans to lower it. I was told it needs motor mounts, since I’ve noticed problems with it not wanting to go into gear (automatic) and being sluggish while driving. One can only assume they correlate, thanks for the video
in the process of buying engine mounts of my astro van 04 AWD no lift, etc, i found out that these mounts were installed in a lot of cars and truck, not just astros or safari. so i can easily go to the junk yards and find these vehicle and remove and then install them in my astro van. like s10, c1500, c2500, sonoma, pontiac jimmy, etc.
my lines i took off were stright the new ones are ninties like yours
is there no collars to hold the clips in like on the transmission side im going to use zip ties
Wheres their link? I need some 95 motor mount upgrades
In my Astro i found engine cooling fan that rubs with lower fan shroud, today I was checking my radiator, and I found lower fan shroud severely grinded due to tired engine mounts. I´ve the idea that is not easy to changing engine mounts. Thanks to share.
No description tags geez got do that
This reminded me how much i hate working on cars. I will definitely pay someone to do this job for me.
I know this is a couple years old, but that makes this a better question. How did the motor mounts work out? Mine need replaced and I'm doing a 1/4" spacer as well
I know this is an older video, but hopefully you can answer this. did you break an axle shaft, or C clip?
RIP 🙏
What lift and rear springs ?
I am really sorry to hear about your stage 4. I hope you are doing well sir.
Unreal beautiful scenery- and catching trout- Wow!!
Good luck im stage4 last 5yrs doing it without whitecoat poison.. laetrile is only way to go check it out may be why im still here and active with bone cancer originally prostate cancer spread almost everywhere since but still here on laetrile!!
I just turned 52..
Nice Astro!
like the vid what size boty spacers are on your van i need those mine are flatend and it makes it hard getting to my spark plugs.
wow..!! that was amazing.
why is coolant leaking out of my oil cooler line on my astro??
I just found a small hole on the front side of the radiator that is leaking coolant and from underneath would look like it lines up right where the oil cooler line fittings are.
What he pasted away?
So, this is no picnic....My van is not lifted, therefore, all your suggestions apply? Is it easier on a stock van to perform this replacement? Thanks!!
Basically, there are no rebuilds on a can that will work in a wornout engine. Why would you think they would ?
Sorry, this comment was meant for another video, dang auto play.
i have a 1987 v6 RWD i love my van im working on fixing her up this video helps so much
AMATURE AUDIO JUMPS to so loud it blue a tweeter in my monitor system... THANKS !!!
5:10 exact reason why I have a spare axle nut
Axle nut ? Try " C" clip.
Thank you
Rear locker?
Are those 32 I got 30s and lifted 6 inches journeys and chassis works got me up there nice ride I like the valvoline synthetic myself good ****
great info....i had that annoyng grinding noise and thought it was my steering pump going out on me....loose idler arm that dropped ...im sure my mounts are shot also ..that wll be next project
Good God'' 3 3/4 INCH Galvanized nuts & a sheet of 1/2 inch kitchen nylon cutting board will solve any & All of your mount Problems.. ((( Think Redneck ))) !
el conductor está menso
Where did you source your axles?
That last shot is some CRAZY off camber... Id be scared to death it would flop over!
Its been a year now... how are the Prothane bushings holding up?
Didn't use the plate with the mount?
Nice, looking chevy van. I, own a 93, chevy ASTRO van.
Great video, but why not just pull the brake caliper? Is the line tied through the knuckle? Or was that the wheel speed sensor hanging you up? It was much simpler on my 2001 ZR2 sonoma to replace a CV axle after a mudbog
