Besides the fact that these scene comparisons are really good. I love that there are no narrators talking throughout the videos giving us an explanation.
Jamie Foxx "doing" Ray Charles ? no, he is the rebirth of Ray Charles, Jamie Foxx is an excellent imitator, and his body language is impressive, for a long time I was doubting if this wasn't playback, but no, this is the real thing ! The studio recordings, the life performances, it's as Ray Charles himself was on stage. Watch for yourself in this comparison ....
Jamie Foxx’s portrayal of Ray Charles is hands-down THE BEST PERFORMANCE I’ve ever seen in my entire life. BY FAR. No competition. No debate. He deserves so much credit for his performance. I don’t know any actor alive or dead who portrayed a role better than Jamie did. I’d be willing to fight you to defend that statement
I saw this when it came out in theaters and I thought it was just amazing getting to see and learn about the life of Ray Charles. Ray maybe gone but his spirit lives on!!!
All or almost all of the voice tracks from the movie songs are dubbed with Ray's genuine voice, so the movie songs are equally as canon in Ray's discography as the performances in the clips from the 70s and 80s of him performing those songs on TV, which actually were performed later chronologically from the events in the film, which would've been pre-1960s, before he kicked the habit.
Jamie Foxx worked hard for this role. He face prosthetics( I believe thats what it was) put on so that he couldnt see. Then he had to learn Ray Charles' piano technique. Then to get Rays mannerisms and voice down. He deserved an award! He really loved Ray!
The way Jamie turned into Ray Charles for this movie was amazing. The only other performer I'd argue did as good of a job was Joaquin Phoenix playing Johnny Cash. I mean Joaquin actually managed to drop is voice an entire octave. Listen to him in an interview and then watch a scene from Ring of Fire and it's wild to hear.
It's funny cuz I alwasy considered that film the "white Ray". Like it came out the very next year the plot of the film hit alot of the same points as Ray did, even with the drug use stuff and redemption arc at the end. Good film tho, but I wouldn't say it was as good as Ray.
Jamie Foxx can act. Jamie Foxx can sing. Jamie Foxx is a comedian. Diversely talented entertainers ever. I'd like to add that he's also my birthday twin. December 13th!!
First of all RIP Ray Charles. Long overdue condolences to the family. Second. Jamie Foxx was brilliant. By the way. Great job with the editing and clips sir 😁👍👍
Jamie did an excellent job. But no one ever mentions Taylor Hackford. He hand picked Jamie Foxx for this role. He was the perfect director for this movie.
Jamie Foxx is one of my favorite celebrities and actors!!!! ❤😊❤😊❤😊 His role as Ray Charles is my favorite role by him!!! ❤❤❤😊😊❤😊he played the role so spectacularly well, wonderful and amazing!!!! ❤❤❤😊❤😊❤😊❤ 🤩
Jamie did such a spectacular job as Ray as well Chadwick Boseman as James Brown. When compared to Rami Malek as Mercury, that was a pretty poor performance, a caricature.
The comparisons are amazing, was surprised to see 4 to 5 Raylets doing backup instead of 3, also the point that the younger Ray wasn’t as animated in his shoulders like the film suggests. Great work overall though.
can't wait Bohemian Rhapsody to come out and excited for you to do comparison of that film to real life events of Queen once the digital/home release of that film comes out!
I think that you don’t know that in the movie who was playing and singing was the same Ray Charles not the actor, that’s why the piano and voice is identical 😬😁💯👌🏽
I notice only one issue... young ray was more stiff on the rocking but older ray was more moving and Mr Fox was stiff on older but rocking on the younger but omg it was great movie on a great man.. preformed by another great man.... thank you for doing the movie
God has truly Blessed this young man with a talent that goes beyond, I don't think I've ever seen anything like this and I did read a passage by Ray's son that stated that there were times that even he could not tell the difference between his father and Jamie Foxx.
DOG- Whoever you are that did this y.tube video; You Belong in HOLLYWOOD. I've never seen this before, maybe once, but your timing was "Second-to-None". The Ray movie jumped into my top 2 biopics behind the "Temptations" movie. And you did it to a "T". Congrats of a job well done. I can't begin to imagine how much time it must have taken to not only deal with scenes but also, voice AND rhythm. I was evaluating you the entire video for content and timing and must say "You Nailed It. Thanks for doing this.
The is reminds me of the Chris Rock joke, after Jamie’s performance in Ray, they pulled the plug on the real one like, well we dont need two of these?!” It was hilarious only cause it wS true of Foxx’s performance and tribute to the Legend.
I see where he made the video you were asking for but I don't think it's the same thing because I believe Jamie Foxx was actually using his real voice for the singing pieces in this movie as to where Angela Bassett did not really use her voice to sing any of Tina Turner's songs. I could be wrong though, IDK.
This has to be the greatest biopic made of all time. Jamie did such an excellent job.
*Bohemian Rhapsody has entered the chat*

Will Smith was terrible as Ali.

Denzel embodied Malcolm X. Robbed of his Oscar for that performance.

Rami malek as Freddie Mercury.

@@boston111000 yea he sang one of them and lip sync most of the songs
There hasn't been a biopic yet that came close to what Jamie did with this.
I’ll add denzel in malcom x but ray is definitely number 1

Angela Bassett as Tina Turner
Will smith as ali was good too
Elvis 1979. Kurt Russell. So Good!

thanks! ;)

Jamie Foxx Only one who can !!!!

Jamie is amazing . I bet he studied Ray for months
