That novel is excellent. A great read. Blatty uses the word tractable. I’d only heard of intractable up to time of his audiobook. Blatty is a very definitive, recognizable audiobook narrator. ;).
I picked it one year for our October book club read. It was interesting because it didn’t seem nearly as scary as we expected. We concluded that our generation has been so exposed to over the top horror movies, and novels, that it simply didn’t have the affect on us it did 1970s readers or movie goers. The similarities to this case though are undeniable. I believe he actually had access to the daily diary kept by Father Bishop, two copies of which rest in the Vatican archives in Rome.
@@MMorbid thanks for your thoughtful reply. Yes, since the Friedkin film came out (it was kind of a watershed/dam breaking moment) filmdom had its head and has constantly tried to one-up. Leading of course to desensitization. ;(. Btw, thanks for your channel. It is sensational in a good, exceptional way.
Thank you so much, Ruth! I’m glad you enjoyed it! This one was pretty fun to make, though I’m sure it wasn’t great for the people who lived through it!
Fantastic..!! took me years to go see the movie.. poor kid.. I’ve never heard this story..I’m Lutheran, but I can see why it took a couple seasoned Priests to wrangle those demons..Interesting about the tiers of saints.. you don’t mess with Saint Michael. You look great.. your a good witch.. Happy Halloween 🎃 👻
Loved this video. It was the first time I had heard the true story of this and what the movie was based on and you did an amazing job. Love your channel and all the videos. Keep up the good work because you are doing awesome.

The story of Ronald Edwin Hunkeler, the boy The Exorcist is based on, has since been debunked. According to Hunkeler’s partner, the man himself never believed that he was the victim of satanic possession and he shunned religion. “He said he wasn’t possessed, it was all concocted,” said the companion. “He said, ‘I was just a bad boy.'”
@@bekindrewind335 I wouldn’t consider hearsay evidence from someone who wasn’t there to be definitively debunking anything. My research showed he certainly lived in terror of being identified and distanced himself from being associated with the story. This presentation was made largely using the diary of the priests who documented every single day. While not allowed to discuss it in detail Father Bowden would only say that in his opinion it was absolutely real. Numerous priests were involved and reported experiencing things they could not logically explain. That’s all I’m prepared to say, as I also was not there. So if it was fake the priests had to be in on it, and I just don’t believe that. Someone would have talked. That many people don’t keep secrets that long without someone spilling the beans. So basically the only thing I disagree with is the notion that the case has been definitely debunked. My research did not show that, and it would require much stronger evidence than hearsay to do so.
Wow, I couldn't turn away after I started watching the video that was a terrifying and interesting story. Thank God the devil was forced out of him, and he was able to go on and have somewhat a normal and successful life with a few great achievements. Great job my sista!❤👍🏽
If you didn’t know, when the Devil went into the Priest that staircase he jumped out the window and fell down is in Georgetown. Thanks Madam I haven’t seen you cross my feed in awhile, Happy Halloween
One of my fave scenes is when they send for Merrin (the ultimate exorcist). A young, brother priest runs through the gorgeous fall scenery of Woodstock to fetch him. And of course, every scene with the intense Jason Miller is fab. That chiseled face! Those searing eyes. Father Damien’s guilt over his mother! Heart wrenching. “Demi, Demi”.
@@chrishintz1077 that was crazy !. To this day the only Horror movie to scare me. My mom brought us kids to the theater to see it. I was 8. And two years later Jaws scared me outa the ocean

You should do a video on the Amityville horror house , I was raised in Huntington Long Island which was right next to Amityville. The owners of the house redid the Windows ,, but the locals know where on Ocean ave. The house is . I have lots of pictures of that place.. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.....
You know what's interesting about the story that you're telling Madden morbid is that they said hey Aunt Tillie is that you? You want to know something everybody including Madame morbid the Bible makes it clear that when you die first comes death the next will come the judgment Hebrews 9:27. But the Bible also says that there are familiar spirits a familiar Spirit takes the shape of a person who died a long time ago. The Bible calls them demons a familiar spirit is a demon, so when you see ghosts like on Ghost adventures and you think they're talking to ghosts those aren't ghosts. A ghost is something like from Scooby-Doo or something like that what you think say boo which boo's not inherently scary. Anyway to make a long story short as a Christian man I'm going to tell you, the Bible is the authoritative word of God and let me just say this if you believe that God is your savior today please repent and give your life to Christ. And as a Christian man if I sat in a place that was haunted, I know that I would be okay I know that I would be okay because as a Christian man who puts his faith in Christ jesus. I would most likely sit down on the bed. And I would have said I command you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ whom you fear get back to hell where you belong.
I definitely agree that wasn’t Aunt Tillie they were interacting with, but I don’t agree that every spirit is a demon. I have personally had paranormal experiences and they were very positive. One literally turned the lights on for me when I couldn’t find the light switch. This was at Hotel Andaluz in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I didn’t even know it was haunted until that happened to me and I looked it up. I appreciated the help. I felt no negative energy whatsoever.
You look very sexy with the hat and lipstick and mask. I saw the movie and it was kind of Skokie ! To say the least . you picked the PERFECT day for this. Video . just glad it wasn't at night . THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.......
When I saw the film in first run release I was so scared I didn’t take my coat off and I slept with the lights on for two weeks. Director Friedkin died recently. His list of wives reads like a who’s who: Jeanne Moreau, Kelly Lange, Lesley Anne Downe and Sherry Lansing.

What a great grace that he became a Catholic and received the Last Rites!
Another great video! Very enjoyable and appropriate for Halloween.
