very true..... but i don't think that every religion comes under as much scrutiny as the Vatican......because as far as i have noticed (personally) , i have never heard people or even the media make a big news of any other religion dealing with exorcism as much as the they focus on the Vatican...... can you even believe that in 2010 someone said that "the devil" was in the Vatican?.....i mean this was actually reported in the ABC News.....which religion gets so much attention on something people fear? i mean, yes there our other religions where possessions can be found but no one looks into those religions and how they deal with Demonic Possession....... but i guess since most of the people are mainly Christians, the fact that exorcism was/ is practiced by the church can sometimes scare people........and to be honest i would like to know more about demonology and how do other religions deal with Demonic Possession, because when you type exorcism the articles that mainly pop up are from exorcisms done by the church.....
I have seen the possessed people in other religions..they are ridicolous compared to people that need a Catholic exorcism. Also other religions don't cast out demons, demons just keep on doing their stuff forever letting people think they are gone.

To prevent the situation..to prevent it you act smart, go to the doctor, get your diagnosis, take your prophylactically in perpetuity. THAT is how you prevent it.
They don't need priest if that's the case. Exorcist are trained to be skeptics. They are not easily swayed by every report of "demonic possession". They will direct these people to medical experts or mental illness practitioners who are not part of the Roman Catholic religion. Some are even atheist. The exorcists rely on these tests to see if it is caused diseases or mental issue. Diving directly into the ritual, without knowing if the cause was natural, could cause more harm than good and could result in a lawsuit. It can also ruin the ritual, if you believe in them. When the results of the medical exam reveal a natural cause then the exorcists will leave the treatment to the experts. But if the experts say that the person in normal and is just faking it, the exorcists doesn't conclude just yet that the issue is demonic possession. The victim need to exhibit certain traits that can be attributed to demonic possession: Superhuman strength (if any); Speaking a language that they never knew, fluently; Knowledge of personal information from the exorcists that is impossible to know by anyone; Aversion to anything Holy (in the Roman Catholic belief). They will also need to know what the person did to attract Demonic possession. Perhaps thru occult practices, or joining satanic cults, or anything that would allow invite the devil. Exorcist tell us that the devil will enter only when we open a crack that they will exploit -- and this crack is spiritual in nature. They need to submit a report to their Bishop and it is the bishop who will allow them to do so if after careful study it is revealed that the person is under demonic possession. The Priest will have to clean himself spiritually, cause the devil will use his sins (cause it knows!) against him during the ritual. Mind you, it is not the priest that exorcise the demon -- it is thru the name of Jesus Christ and his authority that drives out the evil spirit. All these will make no sense if you don't believe in Jesus Christ, who is God the Son, and that's what the devil wants some of us to believe in. Im a Protestant going into Orthodoxy but when it comes to this topic the best people who well versed on the subject is the Catholic church. Through and though. That emphasis is also stated by several Orthodox priests nowadays as they find a need to have "at least one" Priest who is trained in Exorcism in one parish/church.

Yes it would be harmful. I have listened to well respected Catholic priest who are exorcists. There have been mentally ill people who have gone to the Catholic Church for exorcism and have been denied. Why? Because they're looking for a quick fix to a physical/mental problem that exorcism will not fix because there is no demon to expel. Some patients do quite well once they receive the appropriate help while others refuse to believe they have a mental illness and continue in their illness because they refuse to believe they're not possessed. My husband worked on a hospital mental ward for several years. He helped write the treatment protocol that was used to successfully treat patients. He met a patient or two that he said were definitely possessed. He could feel another presence and their behavior was quite different from the other patients including having extreme strength and their voices drastically changed. He has never been one to tell fanciful stories. I'm an ex-Catholic and I must say that the Catholic Church has the best process for determining whether someone is possessed or mentally ill. I find some so-called "exorcists" repulsive. They don't bother to determine whether a person is actually possessed or mentally ill. They perform "exorcisms" and it's easy to manipulate highly suggestible individuals into thinking they're possessed and to get them to act out.
It sure would if you don't know how strong or how many entities you are actually dealing with and you don't have the faith strong enough to deal with such situations.

There has to be something to it the catholic Bible I went to stay with a family that was living through a horrible haunting right out of a movie really worst I saw thing I have never seen in any other haunted house. Yes I agree. I've listened to many excorcists on youtube. They normally don't allow filming it. So I am confused on this also. I heard an exorcist say that if an exorcist is filmed to help us believe that is good. So this is a Church issue. I'm sure most exorcists wouldn't mind filming especially if it helps prove a mental disorder is not the cause

Interesting video... Upon reading the scriptures, whenever Jesus cast out a demon, these did not return. So, how is it that these priests perform these exorcisms several times on the same individual...sometimes for a matter of years?

Because they don't leave fully they only retreat. It takes on average 75 excorcism sessions (i believe) for an individual to be totally free. Also remember the story from the gospel where the disciples couldn't cast out a demon...Jesus responded "this kind only comes out through fasting and prayer".
Actally the bible tells us in Matthew 12:43-45 43:"When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44:Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45:Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation. If the "house" or vessel they leave remains empty, they will come back with more spirits. We have to fill ourselves with the Holy Spirit, the love of God and faith in Jesus to fill us.

Even if their will is weak a stronger (because of their faith) and charitable soul can assist them, like an assisted eviction with the help of authorities.

If the stories are true then the world isn't well I have seen spirits in houses and some I thought weren't human from what they could do and I can't lie you might get scared but you must stand up and they say it's the words but they don't always work one time a young priest ran from the house and would call us back or come back he didn't even say good bye he did the last room and ran
Most priests I've met are nice. What I like about excorcists is their legal mindset. Fr. Carlos and others have told of levitation. Normally the Catholic Church doesn't film. I think that's changing. For the better. I'm not a very strong Catholic but I pray everyday and keep loved ones close so not to isolate. Many protestant pastors are OK. But I would only prefer a Catholic priest to do an excorcism. Simply because of how rigorous their teaching is

Is not almost unbelievable, in my opinion it is unbelievable…it makes me believe that (if a person is truly possessed and not oppressed) then they don’t actually know what they’re doing. Honestly it seems like a demon would be having some “fun” playing with the Priest and/or the poor person, until they tire of it or get annoyed so to speak and move into someone else - and on and on it goes. The “rituals” of exorcism are not actually necessary - the way Jesus did it and how He taught the disciples and apostles in the New Testament, the Gospels and Acts mostly - was to take the authority He had given them and cast the demon(s) out without rituals, *with faith* in the God whose name they use and whose authority is what allowed them to just get rid of the demons as He did. And now us, we can do that as followers of Christ, believers saved by Grace through faith and filled with the Holy Spirit, who can’t be possessed ourselves because the Holy Spirit certainly isn’t going to share space with a demon! As Jesus said in Matthew 6:24 You can’t serve two masters…a house divided against itself will fall. An interesting passage that speaks volumes is the story of the 7 sons of Sceva in Acts 19:11-20 it’s a good example of what we’re talking about here! An excerpt of it is verses 15-16 “But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know and Paul I recognize but who are you?””😊
The reason is that the power of exorcism resides in the sanctity of the Church through the grace of God. Given the changes to mass and increasing teaching of errors, the grace of God has decreased resulting in longer exorcisms. But all of this has been foretold in Revelations.

well in my case personally i have no clue..... but yes there is a reason why this is a closed practice....because to be honest if everyone thought that the Catholic church did Exorcisms openly, people would thing that we were nuts...... and well, to be honest, you don't need to tell people this by screaming at the top of your lungs, just a neighbour getting to know someone who has gone through this, is more than enough to get that person and their family out and away from you........and also if you remember when it was the year 2012, people though that this world would end.... ....people would go hysterical if they knew that there were demons on our plain.....and also NOT all the people who THINK they are "possessed" are really possessed.....the Vatican has certain questions that person has to answer......and also you need to know that THE PRIEST WHO IS DOING THE EXORCISM HAS TO REMAIN A TOTAL SKEPTIC, that is because there can be people who may think of playing pranks you know.....so to discern if what someone is going through is really a possession or is just mentally unstable, a priest who is a real exorcist is only taught by a real Vatican certified Exorcist and ONLY certain priests can be trained.....and not all priests are trained exorcists.........so, yes it takes a lot to convince the Vatican to actually open up to this publicly..... and i really am very sorry to be so blunt......but that's how i am....i am a Roman Catholic by birth.....and though my mum has a scientific mind and my dad is very religious, i am more of the open minded person and i just like to learn more....but i know that this thirst for knowledge can and will get me into trouble one day.....but i hope that you have an amazingly awesome day where ever you are......stay safe, protected and blessed always....

Demonic possession can take place anywhere. Such a sweeping statement with no understanding. All cases are scrutinised medically and psychologically before they are exorcised.
Demons and the devil are liars. Showing their true form is far too honest for them. Possession is a way they gain power. If they possess a person and ultimately get them to kill themselves, they gain a previously righteous soul for their evil army. Or, if they get them to perform other acts that serve evil, they are furthering their evil cause.
It's not the form of darkness, that the spirit of light is trapped in, that darkness is after -its the soul spirit it wants, to trap and keep it after that spirit is freed through death.
demons are not almighty and have not the same power of God. Exorcism can weaken them and they can go away for a bit. Also they are not omnipresent like God, sure they can go fast to some places but not be at the same times in different places. They don't need priest if that's the case. Exorcist are trained to be skeptics. They are not easily swayed by every report of "demonic possession". They will direct these people to medical experts or mental illness practitioners who are not part of the Roman Catholic religion. Some are even atheist. The exorcists rely on these tests to see if it is caused diseases or mental issue. Diving directly into the ritual, without knowing if the cause was natural, could cause more harm than good and could result in a lawsuit. It can also ruin the ritual, if you believe in them. When the results of the medical exam reveal a natural cause then the exorcists will leave the treatment to the experts. But if the experts say that the person in normal and is just faking it, the exorcists doesn't conclude just yet that the issue is demonic possession. The victim need to exhibit certain traits that can be attributed to demonic possession: Superhuman strength (if any); Speaking a language that they never knew, fluently; Knowledge of personal information from the exorcists that is impossible to know by anyone; Aversion to anything Holy (in the Roman Catholic belief). They will also need to know what the person did to attract Demonic possession. Perhaps thru occult practices, or joining satanic cults, or anything that would allow invite the devil. Exorcist tell us that the devil will enter only when we open a crack that they will exploit -- and this crack is spiritual in nature. They need to submit a report to their Bishop and it is the bishop who will allow them to do so if after careful study it is revealed that the person is under demonic possession. The Priest will have to clean himself spiritually, cause the devil will use his sins (cause it knows!) against him during the ritual. Mind you, it is not the priest that exorcise the demon -- it is thru the name of Jesus Christ and his authority that drives out the evil spirit. All these will make no sense if you don't believe in Jesus Christ, who is God the Son, and that's what the devil wants some of us to believe in. But in the book of James, the devil says this: You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.

Im a Protestant going into Orthodoxy but when it comes to this topic the best people who well versed on the subject is the Catholic church. Through and though. Yes it would be harmful. I have listened to well respected Catholic priest who are exorcists. There have been mentally ill people who have gone to the Catholic Church for exorcism and have been denied. Why? Because they're looking for a quick fix to a physical/mental problem that exorcism will not fix because there is no demon to expel. Some patients do quite well once they receive the appropriate help while others refuse to believe they have a mental illness and continue in their illness because they refuse to believe they're not possessed. My husband worked on a hospital mental ward for several years. He helped write the treatment protocol that was used to successfully treat patients. He met a patient or two that he said were definitely possessed. He could feel another presence and their behavior was quite different from the other patients including having extreme strength and their voices drastically changed. He has never been one to tell fanciful stories.
I'm an ex-Catholic and I must say that the Catholic Church has the best process for determining whether someone is possessed or mentally ill.
I find some so-called "exorcists" repulsive. They don't bother to determine whether a person is actually possessed or mentally ill. They perform "exorcisms" and it's easy to manipulate highly suggestible individuals into thinking they're possessed and to get them to act out.
It sure would if you don't know how strong or how many entities you are actually dealing with and you don't have the faith strong enough to deal with such situations.

I heard an exorcist say that if an exorcist is filmed to help us believe that is good. So this is a Church issue. Because they don't leave fully they only retreat. It takes on average 75 excorcism sessions (i believe) for an individual to be totally free. Also remember the story from the gospel where the disciples couldn't cast out a demon...Jesus responded "this kind only comes out through fasting and prayer".

44:Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.

If the "house" or vessel they leave remains empty, they will come back with more spirits. We have to fill ourselves with the Holy Spirit, the love of God and faith in Jesus to fill us.

Even if their will is weak a stronger (because of their faith) and charitable soul can assist them, like an assisted eviction with the help of authorities.

Most priests I've met are nice. What I like about excorcists is their legal mindset. Fr. Carlos and others have told of levitation. Normally the Catholic Church doesn't film. I think that's changing. For the better. I'm not a very strong Catholic but I pray everyday and keep loved ones close so not to isolate. Many protestant pastors are OK. But I would only prefer a Catholic priest to do an excorcism. Simply because of how rigorous their teaching is

Is not almost unbelievable, in my opinion it is unbelievable…it makes me believe that (if a person is truly possessed and not oppressed) then they don’t actually know what they’re doing. Honestly it seems like a demon would be having some “fun” playing with the Priest and/or the poor person, until they tire of it or get annoyed so to speak and move into someone else - and on and on it goes. The “rituals” of exorcism are not actually necessary - the way Jesus did it and how He taught the disciples and apostles in the New Testament, the Gospels and Acts mostly - was to take the authority He had given them and cast the demon(s) out without rituals, *with faith* in the God whose name they use and whose authority is what allowed them to just get rid of the demons as He did.
And now us, we can do that as followers of Christ, believers saved by Grace through faith and filled with the Holy Spirit, who can’t be possessed ourselves because the Holy Spirit certainly isn’t going to share space with a demon! As Jesus said in Matthew 6:24 You can’t serve two masters…a house divided against itself will fall. An interesting passage that speaks volumes is the story of the 7 sons of Sceva in Acts 19:11-20 it’s a good example of what we’re talking about here! An excerpt of it is verses 15-16 “But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know and Paul I recognize but who are you?””😊
The reason is that the power of exorcism resides in the sanctity of the Church through the grace of God. Given the changes to mass and increasing teaching of errors, the grace of God has decreased resulting in longer exorcisms. But all of this has been foretold in Revelations.

If demons are real, why would they bother possessing humans? Why wouldn't they just show up in their regular form.
Demons and the devil are liars. Showing their true form is far too honest for them. Possession is a way they gain power. If they possess a person and ultimately get them to kill themselves, they gain a previously righteous soul for their evil army. Or, if they get them to perform other acts that serve evil, they are furthering their evil cause.
It's not the form of darkness, that the spirit of light is trapped in, that darkness is after -its the soul spirit it wants, to trap and keep it after that spirit is freed through death.
