You are acting like he is going to stick to it obsessively, he is playing it for easy ASS content. Asmon did that for Diablo Immortal, played a shitty ass game he didn't like only for the content. That is 100% in every way different from an average overly obsessed League player and what you are trying to call him out on. It's like me who doesn't eat at fast food, gets a McDouble, day two I just wanted to try the Nuggets even though the food is gross and I"m curious then the person in the car is like "SEE you eat McDonald's too, welcome to the club of eating it on a daily basis" When all I'm doing is making a well informed review on how how shitty and worthless that food is.

I mean he's complaining about the players, stream snipers and game system(match making/smurf acc/etc) more than the actual gameplay of the game. I don't think i saw him complain about the gameplay yet. I could be wrong but i do agree with him. The community feels like shit. Low elo rank queues are all smurfs with bought lvl 30 accounts. Norms are unplayable with randos. The only good time to play League is with rotating game modes, aram or a 5 man.

@@anthonyfaiell3263 The game is designed to be that way. All the toxicity, the general behavior of people, those actually interested in the game are there because the game made as it is. It's a team game where people are forced into groups randomly, and it is hard to determine who's to blame for things, and trolling is very effective. People also get frustrated and vent it into the game. It's also a PvP game, which caters to a certain type of players. I know everyone watching high ranked streamers seems to have adopted the "anything below masters is "low rank"" mentality... but technically, when you look at the actual spread of players, gold is not "low rank".
      .
Also, he chose to go into ranked without understanding the game. The same thing could happen in WoW if you start pvping while you are undergeared and inexperienced, you destroy your mmr and you probably get yelled at a bit. Him queueing up for ranked is the equivalent of an undergeared and inexperienced player queueing up for high level WoW content.
      .
If he chooses to continue playing ranked in league, he will likely find his way to people of similar experience. But he shouldn't complain when people yell at him for having no clue what's going on while queueing up for a ranked game mode.

League is like alcohol. You can have a couple drinks without being an alcoholic but every alcoholic has way more than a couple drinks. If your goal is to climb, don't queue 10 games in a row and get drunk on tilt. Set up a reasonable schedule that works in your favor. Some league coaches talk about "3 blocks" where you play 3 games, review them, and look at what pros/high elo people do in that situation or matchup. Don't play league when you are having a bad day. You can't control the other 4 people on your team and the communication is basically like honking cars in traffic without voice comms being in the game. Don't get mad at what you can't control. Focus on what you can control, that is, YOUR gameplay. You can mute someone if they are being an asshole or just /deafen at the start of the game if you truly know that the asshole will get into your head and tilt you if you see them type even once. There are really good and really bad strategies to climb in this game. Find something that keeps your mental in check or don't play at all and save your mental.

Never get into league without a few friends who either already play the game or want to learn it with you. Never grind ranked unless you are dedicated to impoving, in which case pick about three characters and watch your vods back after a session. Generally I play normals and if I think I can reliably climb I play some ranked. I got to silver when Tahm was reworked and super broken and then I got to gold, then plat, then emerald with various different strategies with Zac. Every time I only played ranked until I could no longer consistently influence a game in my favor and then couldn’t bring myself to play more ranked. After a while, I'd decide I've improved enough to climb. Unfortunately even though I want to improve and think I can and could easily reach diamond with a bit of effort, playing with my friends is already often annoying, since many are hard stuck silver, and needing to carry a lot of games to win is annoying and not fun for my premades.
As it is, I really enjoy this game.

Agreed. I think too many people want to brute force the game and aren't actually focused on improving. Improving at the game means you will climb eventually. Review your games, review pros/high elo matchups or similar situations. Refrain from saying "that champ is broken, there is nothing I can do. This game is doomed FF15!" instead say "alright, this game has gone to shit. Is there a way we can come back?" Don't play ranked when you are having a bad day. I genuinely think he’s not far off the mark when he says everyone is a Smurf. Even players in silver and gold, sometimes even bronze, have been playing league for like 7 years. They’re shit mechanically but they know every champ and ability and item by heart and read the patch notes etc, idk why but the game just attracts and holds those kinds of people.
It was like this years ago so I can’t imagine it being any better now.

I'm a new player to League of legends and I find it impossible to learn all the champions, I try to do my best, most I did was a match were I got 12 / 1 k/d and got told I'm bad at the game and that's nothing, apparently everyone get 15 or more per game as dps, why is this game filled with so many try hard smurfs that don't allow new players to game, it feels there are no new players to the game, just smurf spam even at low rating, I feel like uninstalling the game, hopefully I started to play Black desert online and for 9,99€ I got an MMO with thousands of hours to sink in.

@@brucefly3612 you don't face good smurfs, you face smurfs that are bad. They already adjusted the system to such a degree that anybody who is moderately decent will not face new players. You will maybe for the first 20games till your elo adjusts. Then it should get easier with each loss. Esp past 50games. League playerbase is massive it needs awhile to figure out where you belong, but it does it really well.
Most "smurfs" are longtime players who are bad. And ye they will still outperform to any new player since you have thousands of League players with 2k hours in the game who can't even leave silver lol
but yea, league is hard, any competetive game is at the end of the day
I come from League and if you play enough games league tries to give you a 50% wr.

You do realize that MMOs (I haven't played WoW so I can't speak exactly to it) slowly give you metaphorical stairs to climb and teach you basic boss mechanics, then more advanced ones, then even harder ones, etc. right? League doesn't do any of that. The MMO equivalent of the new player onboarding that League has would be if you create an account, level a character to max level and then it instant drops you into the 0.001% of raiders doing peak end game content, the hardest content in the game, and you are expected to understand your role/class perfectly, how to do your rotation perfectly, have min maxed gear, have all the proper addons and anything else you need, etc. Most MMOs slowly onboard new players showing you basic 1 mechanic bosses with a big circle that gives you like 10 seconds to avoid it, etc. and shows you the basics and then builds upon it as you progress up through the catalogue of dungeons and raids. That's how it is in FF14 (it's the only MMO Ive ever played). League is like taking a kid who just won a elementary school baseball championship and dropping them into a professional match vs real pros and expecting him to perform like a pro with years and years of experience and habits and muscle memory built up.

That's the most basic knowledge in order to even play the game. You have to learn. Same shit with World of Tanks. You have to be a walking encyclopedia of all the tanks in the game. Know armor profiles and rules of the pen. All gun calibers and pens of everyone. Knowing what shots you can tank and which not. From which positions you can be shoot at and so on. This kind of games are just like that. Being a walking encyclopedia is a must in order perform at some "useful" lvl.

It's not just league, but any competitive multiplayer games sucks; apex, fortnite, valorant, csgo, warzone (or any cod variant), r6s, or even less competitive games like world of tanks and war thunder to some extent. League, unlike most other FPS games, feels to be more rewarding for time/experience tp learn macro/micro/wave control/mechanics/matchups because it's not just about aim, but that makes it harder for new players to learn as muscle memory from other fps games doesn't transfer over. The result, you get people who've been playing for 10+ years that own multiple accounts -- they peak at whatever, hate playing against people at their own skill level, and smurf to try and find fun in rolling less skilled (but equally veteran) players.
As someone who's played world of tanks for some 13+ years, the same stuff happens. You get people with 150k+ games playing at tiers

(Say you only play Jax top, you can do well enough only learning the 10~20 most picked matchups in the top lane, and you won't need to worry about learning jungle, adc, etc.)

    • @Aisaaax
      @Aisaaax 2 місяці тому +5

@@cynth4941 The thing is even if you focus on PLAYING 1 champion, you still need to KNOW what everyone else does, otherwise you just get cheap-shotted in 1 second and don't know WTF happened and what to watch out for.
There are a lot of abilities that unless you read them up make zero sense. Like Kindred ult. Or Tryndamere immortality. Or the mechanics of Illaoi.
You need to know literally hundreds of champions in detail to be any good at it. Because just like Soda says - 99.9% of players are not new and they will make you have the worst time.

    • @cynth4941
      @cynth4941 2 місяці тому

@@Aisaaax I don't disagree, but I still think that if you limit what you play you can focus more on one area and limit the amount of knowledge you need to learn in order perform decent.
Like top lane for example. You won't need to know the intricacies of jungle pathing, how the bot lane matchups go, how to play against say Ekko or LeBlanc because no one picks those champions top. You won't need to know all the 170(?) champions, if you learn like what the 20 or so most picked champions in top lane do and how to play against them with your 1trick, you'll already be able to perform fairly well at least in the laning phase.
You will need to understand Illaoi, Trynda, and eventually some important abilities from other lanes like Kindred R, but I think some of them are kinda intuitive(Kindred R for example, you try to attack under a certain threshold and it no longer deals damage. I never read her kit, but I know somewhat what her ult does just from facing her. Same for Illaoi, you get hit by her E and it gives you cancer lol). I agree that some kits are very non intuitive though, like I had to read what K'Sante does, because I wasn't understanding why the fuck he was teleporting me all around the map. There are some intuitive abilities with uinintuitive effects too, like for example if Shen slides his blade through you he gains an insane amount of stats that's almost impossible to beat in a fight, so you have to disengage if you get hit by it, Darius Q you also might not notice that the inside does way less damage than the outside part.
Many new players try to play many roles and many champions all at once, and it's way harder to perform if you try to play everything like that. Even I will struggle if I'm not playing the 10 or so champs that I've learned, and there are some roles like ADC and jungle that I won't perform at all, I'm just doing my best to not feed and get dove 10 times if I get autofilled lol
I agree that it's a pain for new players, even for old players it gets annoying with a bunch of reworks, item changes, new champions with abilities that are the length of a Bible, etc. It's easier if you can find a friend to duo to hold your hand. Best of luck to you though!

I recently quit playing League even tho i'm a Chall/GM player. Been boosting and selling account's for a long time, and i still quit the game just cuz of how unenjoyable it is to play. I wish i learned a valuable real life skill instead of dumping 20-30k hours into the game that i don't even like to play. I used to love the game, but nowdays if you're not a meta slave you're asking for a bad time. I'm so sick of seeing Low Master or Last Season Emerald players in M+/GM. Bad players are so common in higher ranks nowdays that being High Elo means nothing.
Mid in S14 is basically: Ahri,Karma,Hwei,Azir, or whatever is basically the meta at the moment.
Last season it was: Anivia,Ryze,Orianna,Ahri, basically all the champs that could abuse ROA and Archangel's.
Or when Statik just got released and you couldn't see anyone not playing it. Wow it sure was fun playing against Kai'sa or LeBlanc statik rush for 2 months straight.
Or when K'sante just got realesed and he was turbo broken like past 20 champs.
Or when Corki was astro broken and he'd just 1 shot your whole team.
Or when Azir got buffed and any chimp could play him.
Or when Udyr would 1 tap you whilst being unkillable himself.
Or the most recent one where Maokai was 56% WR for months not getting nerfed just so Phreak can peak after being hardstuck D4 adc player for 10+ years, swapped to support and peaked GM. Maokai isn't Z tier anymore (only S), and now he's just playing his decay games negative WR on every champ that's not Maokai.
Just hoping to see the day this game dies.

Actually better analysis than what most people say when they're ranting about League. I say this as someone who was addicted for a few years and who barely plays know, there is zero onboarding or new player experience in this game. Everybody has played thousands of hours and knows too much about the game and there's is no elo where that isn't the case.
Also I basically agree with his assessment of what competitive League is. It's almost exclusively a slot machine for people who need to feel like they accomplish something through gaming and this whole game basically is just a carrot on a stick of that accomplishment being dangled in front of people in the form or a few wins so that they keep chasing it despite how miserable and tiring it becomes. Few people will actually enjoy the moment to moment gameplay enough to climb and become really good and everyone else is in a cycle of thinking they need to achieve something by climbing, getting frustrated at the lack of progress, and then burning out only to start all over again.

Sad part is that most, in lower ranks, aren't necessarily smurfs. Most have been playing for 10+ years but are incredibly bad at the game but otherwise mechanically good, sometimes very good if they are OTP, but so incredibly bad at everything else that they don't go up the ladder. It's the opposite in the pro scene, not that they are bad mechanically at all but sometimes they pick champs which aren't their best and it works because they play everything else extremely well.
Those 10 year otps in the lower ranks are basically a wall, where they won't let you play your lane but won't do anything meaningful besides that, but it's still an issue to new players who also don't know.

    • @spudbencer7179

Lol I am not an OTP but I do fill your category. I am level 250 and I play this game since almost 8 years on and off mostly aram. I am very good mechanically, and I mean VERY good. I am capable of creating an advantage in almost any matchup with pretty much any champ I feel remotely comfortable playing with.
However, I am not good at anything else in the game. I don't know the items, I don't care to go to university to learn all the items, nor do I want to read about all the drakes buffs or tower stats or anything aside from my champion which is fun to play. I just don't give a fuck. I just wanna play and have fun.
The fact that you cannot have fun this way in the game, outside of aram, where you are forced to play a random champion, makes the game bad for me.
And it has been bad in that regard since 10 years+.
New Game modes like Arena I try out and at first I thought it could be fun, but riot makes any gamemode extremely competitive and I have to study all the shit just to be of any use in the gamemoe, which I won't do. So I dropped arena too. It's just an unfun sweatfest, yet another, in which I have to read books of item descriptions to make decisions I didn't wanna make in first place. It's pretty stupid.
