Hi Wolf! I think Larian must have something in the works for us, especially if they continue to clear up Act 3, which, as I understand it, needs a bit finishing. I want to hug each & everyone who works & everyone who has worked at & for Larian for their gift to us. I don't think I will feel like that for any other game company again, although the first time I felt strongly about a game was the first Dragon Age & KOTOR. However, my feelings weren't as passionate as the feelings that I have for Larian. They're not perfect by any means, but I think they care about us. (As a side note, I still love Alistair the best. To this day, no one can touch him!)
Awoooooo, Just started my first playthrough on xbox! bought the deluxe version ( I usually don't) just to support Larian. Really happy for Larian on all their awards. Love and best wishes to all the wolfpack have a great weekend everyone, and thanks Wolfheart for all your great continuing content dude.
The way the other leaders stood back and looked at their leader with admiration as he spoke was all I need to know that Larion is in good hands. Wish them many years of health, wealth and success. We the fans, we received this award along with Larion. We didn't shut up, we didn't back down, we voted with not just our dollars but with our hundreds of hours of plays, countless videos of guides and video essay love letters and with our unyielding tenacity towards the other major studios collectively telling them as we held the game to our chest "do better!". Because of Larions game I was introduced to sp many small youtube channels such as yourself, that love the game in many ways. It truly feels like we won, the fatigued to the core fans and customers. Now, the next step is for Larion to finish the game completely and release their asset libraries to the modders and let them do what they do best. Take existing things and make them even better, for free. Because regardless of what the joker said, if you LOVE something, doing it for free feels as rewarding as cashing any check. Let's hope our votes with our wallets send a clear enough message and 2024 will be different for many many studios and not just the ones who's names we all have a bitter taste in our mouths about recently. A new standard has been set and 2024 will either make or break most companies. I don't wanna see any go, just wanna see a company I've supported for 30 years, like Blizzard, to do better. PS, Astarion getting less praise than shadowheart from the beginning truly bothered me, so happy, beyond happy, Neil got his flowers. I married the dommy mommy, but I fell in love with Astarion.
It was really a win for all gamers (even those that are not playing BG3), because it set a signal, that even an independent studio (independent from stock market and big corporations) can make good games and win -- and that quality can win over mediocre games. You need to just play the game, to see how passionate the developers are. You feel it. This price is well earned!
@@GuruChaz I don't know what you are talking about and I guess you do not either. If you would have played the game and not only want to sh*t on it here, you would know. But you just took some rumors that where around two months ago and want to sh*t on the competition. Coping for Bethesda or for Blizzard? I forgot: *Plonk*
@TechnicalTyler They are still independent because they don't have a major publisher backing them and Sven is the majority owner. That's why they are classified stoll as an indie company
I think it’s an absolute travesty that Swen was rushed off the stage in under a minute. The man and his squad just spent the last 6 years of their lives building one of the greatest RPGs ever. Let him speak! If he weren’t being rushed, I’m sure he would have announced that the Xbox version was ready. Meanwhile, ads and 5-minute rambles that were paid for pervaded the show. Priorities, after all…
The cap on speech times was 30s, from what I’m hearing. What’s the point? Why not just throw the trophies to the recipients and get back to the paid ads? Gross.
As a little old lady I can only say that BG3 brought me out of gaming retirement. You said it all, and I can only add: thanks for returning fun in gaming back to me, Larian. I thought I‘d lost it for good. And thanks to you @wolfheartFPS for contributing to this community. 👍🏽💋
@@darthmorbous Heh, yes, even my dark wee heart was moved! He so deserved his award. That‘s one of the scenes I‘ll pull up every time I get into an argument over games being an artform or not. Both in terms of writing and acting, that was exceptional.
I often wonder if BG3 is the best game I've played in the last decade, or the best game I've played in my life. I cannot recall an award more justly given. Congrats, Larian.
The last decade fam. I felt the same way after 200 hours and not even to act 2. I just sat back and kinda wept a little bit. I paid money and I got a game. Something I've done for 20 plus years but this year, it felt like I purchased my first game again as a kid. It proves how absolutely fatigued us gamers have been for a decade. This industry fell the moment pre orders became a thing and was pnly further solidified by the ending of physical copies, reinforced by no longer creating split screen multiplayer games. One step after another of corporate greed ruined an industry that's been a passion industry for 50 fucking years. What's most important about BG3 is this though, the kids born after 2005, that has never known the gaming industry before all the monetization, get to experience what a fucking true game is supposed to be and to give you. Larion just hasn't missed. Every award and praise they get has been the most deserved I've seen in over a decade. The BG3 discord alone is the most wholesome discord channel I've ever been apart of, ever. So here's to us, the customers and fans! We deserved this as much as Larion.
BG3 overall is the best thing ive played in a long time. R2d Dead 2 is a second for its story alone. It is compelling to me few games have ever been. After that? I gotta go to the ps2 to get anywhere near the same enjoyment. Sly, rachet, and Jak for the flagship games. Metal Arms as an honorable mention despite it not being as popular.
@@1Dark.Paradise.Lost1 Halo Reach is my number 2, as no other game have I put as much time in, I put OVER a YEAR of playtime into Reach lol. And number one, should be no surprise to any who know me. Zelda Ocarina Of Time remains the king.
I was in Neil's discord while watching the awards and the hype was insane, before and after the event. We're still buzzing about it over there, it's such an accomplishment. I also use the term "we" when talking about them winning, because it genuinely feels like they care about us, their community, alongside their game. Larian represented us last night and I cannot be more thrilled and proud of them, I need them to open a merch store just for BG3 so I can send them more money lol. They swept the Golden Joystick and GOTY awards, what an awesome ride!
Not to detract from Neil for best performance; he did an amazing job and really brought our favorite vampire to life. That said, I feel Amelia Tyler should of been in the mix, as the narrator of the entire game. As the person who help build emotions, provided critical details to help the immersion of the game, and to give direction throughout the game. Players could miss out on a companion just by random party selection, where as the narrator was there the whole way.
@HunterSlaptop__ I don't know if BG3 would have had the massive success that it has enjoyed had they not pulled the game in. A lot of folks were waiting on Starfield and I think would have been too busy with it to give BG3 a chance.
I have been watching everything I can on UA-cam to do with BG3. I am 60 years old and normally play "cosy" games. I was adamant that I didn't want to play BG3 but after watching MadMorph play I really wanted to try it. That was 2 months ago. I now have 8 games on the go and have 450 hours under my belt. It is the most fun I have ever had with a video game and people are so nice. I have left numerous comments (especially when I needed advice) and people are so happy to help me, I would never have finished the Grymforge battle without the absolute ton of advice I got from lovely, lovely people. No-one makes fun of my age or lack of ability and seem genuinely interested in how I feel about the game. I love BG3, I love Larian and I love the BG3 community xxx
Crazy how much joy you can feel about something you weren't even directly a part of. Larian gave us an unexpectedly beautiful gift for no reason other than they wanted to. All the warm stuff to them. And you, Wolf! I'll stick around.😉
If you bought the game, shared a UA-cam video or just talked to someone Irl bout the game game, you're as much apart of this award as Larion themselves. This was a consorted effort by literally everyone involved. WE fans/customers made this possible. We collectively looked at thr entire gaming industry and said "do fucking better!"
@@BoinkrNanis I haven't wanted to talk about any games (except maybe Rimworld) in at least 10 years. There's was little to nothing to share with others. But BG3 brought back that feeling of wanting to discuss and analyze every aspect of the game.
I did in fact cry watching Neil and Swen go up on stage. I’m so happy for Larian, absolutely most goated dev company in the world. They truly care about the fans and are just the most passionate about their craft. I’m so excited to see what they do in the future and throw my money at them.
I was just overwhelmed how Swen's shiny armor caught all the crazy lights going off when he got up - definitely looked like some kind of enchanted armor at that moment.
@@ItApproaches I'm honestly curious, which category do you think it should be nominated for? Because the only reason I know about that game is its controversies
@@tpbng4259Well obviously you were not a Harry Potter fan lol. But a few categories, right at the top of the list is Game Of The Year, it matches BG3 in terms of being a pure passion project that people have waited 20 freaking years for a game like it. It had that special magical (lol pun not intended) feeling that only Ocarina of Time gave me back on the N64 days. Where you just FEEL the magic of gaming, it is hard to describe. Hell for me Hogwarts Legacy is my 5th favorite game of all time, (made a top 100 list the other week just to see what it would look like, BG3 was my 3rd favorite game of all time btw.) Other categories it would be nominated for is Players Choice, as everyone who played it had nothing but praise for it. (Unless you were some woke nutcase screaming about JK Rowling and trans crap. Best Role Playing Game is another category, for obvious reasons. Best Narrative, though it would lose to BG3, though BG3 lost to Alan Wake... Best Studio/Game Direction is another. Best Action/Adventure, even though it's more Action/Adventure/RPG lol. Lastly Best Score/Music, again for obvious reasons.
You have to love that after what happened with the dev debacle they went on to get so many awards and accolades. And I'm so happy Niel is getting rewarded for his work, the man is a beast in the field and he has done so much already
The song of the fight against Raphael is really outstanding and I can not imagine that there is any better music in a game. Also other songs in the game are just great.
I was hoping for FFXVI personally, as much as I vastly prefer BG3 as a game. Soken is a musical genius, but so is Borislov. This year was insane for games in general, but game music was crazy good. There are a few games (including BG3) that all deserved it this year.
It was, also some of the best battle music in CRPGs ever in my opinion. Haven't played Final Fantasy, so can't say, but Alan Wake 2 had some really really imaginative, outlandish and amazing music as well, even getting a special show in the awards for one. While I love BG3's music, Alan Wake was my choice, but not mad about FFXVI from what I've heard.
@@Shrews85Soken is amazing. Hearing his story of battling cancer while composing FFXIV Shadowbringers was inspiring, especially since he kept it a secret from the entire team.
The weekend BG3 came out I was abroad for a wedding. On the way home I talked to some of my friends about how exited I was for the game. Now we are all playing it together. I didnt spend as much time with these guys since high school. The game definitely braught us back together
This still feels unreal, Waited almost 20 years for this game and ever since I was young I always dreamed of what BG3 could be I lost hope of it ever existing but here we are, not only it exists but it pretty much took the gaming world by storm being one of the most critically acclaimed games ever and going head to head with industry giants and coming out on top, Larian studios did the impossible by not only making a BG game but having it actually living up to the 20+ years of hype.
This is a flat out lie, because every BG1 and BG2 fan knows this game was just a DnD cashcow abusing name recognition, and not an actual Baldurs Gate game.
I know, it's even more bananas that this game exists than psychopaths 2 😂 or final fantasy 15. It's a sequel to a game that came out decades ago and by another studio 😂
@@JohnSmith-rr3jtdude, so many people have no idea this is a D&D game... It's not like people mention this, it's hardly ever mentioned tbh. This is the reason why people who were hoping Spiderman 2 was gonna win kept asking "what is this game!?" In their reaction videos it's genuine... They didn't know. 😅
How do you make a game with choices that can play out so differently? A TON of work. It's nice to see them recognized, there are no shortcuts to this sort of greatness.
Wolf, you are part of this success. I am glad for all the good that comes to you. Thanks for everything! Installing Xbox now. I'll let you know how it compares to PC.
I'm not sure what rock I've been under where I missed the Xbox release!!!! Playing on Steam but also getting on Xbox to support, thanks for pointing out (b-lining to my Xbox now!!!!)
It was an awesome run. Very sad for me that it is coming to an end and now I have to replay BG3 for the next 20 years until the next game that will hold a special place in my heart. Awesome job over the years Wolf. Also a special shout out to the many friends I have made in the wolf pack.
I usually don't care about who won an award but this was more then deserved. The game is astounding. It's the type of game we all expect from next gen games. Visuals, story, depth and more. But we get games like Starfield that are stuck in the past.
Yeah, BG3/Larian actually showed what games could and SHOULD be in the current decade, when made by actually competent and passionate developers who don't compromise for corporate greed and actually make games for the players, not for accountants and shareholders.
Larian made a game they themselves wanted to play and shared it with the rest of us. So happy for them. They deserve every win they received and even more, in my opinion.
I'm so happy BG3 finally got the recognition it deserved and won big at the TGA's. Now let's keep this train rolling and get more of these when the top 10 of 2023 lists start to roll around. :D
Congrats to everyone at Larian, you deserve all the success you're getting. One can easily see all the work and passion you put (and continue to put) into BG3. I'm really glad they won the player's voice award too cause now the hater's cant say it was rigged 😂 Also big thanks to you Wolf for the awesome coverage of the game throughout the years, and brining the attention of wider audiences to the game
The writing narrative feels like they wrote multiple games because it's got sooo many threads for player choices. It's amazing planning on top of basic story line.
BG3 should have had more of the voice actors nominated but so happy Neil won. Much deserved. Multiplayer was a shock, definitely would have liked to see it have won for Best Score and Music. So happy for what Larian did win especially game of the year!
I started playing BG3 when the early access dropped. I instantly liked it. It's been amazing to see what it became. It's my favorite game right now. Not since Star Wars The Old Republic (not the mmo) , Mass Effect and Dragon Age has there been something so special. Congratulations Larian.
I'd love the figures/percentages for the 'players voice' category to be released! Not just for us to know, but for the game industry in general to see, and get more of an idea of what PLAYERS actually want, and not what they THINK we want, or they should give us.
I'll never forget the weeks leading up to Early Access release September three years ago, trying to fall asleep listening to your speculative class vids but laughing my ass off at the gags. Been a hell of a three years, but the game soared on release and it's been amazing to see. Well done to you for sticking the course and building a great rpg community. Looking forward to the future of the channel dude
I remember when BG3 was announced, I had just finished DOS2 and thought that there was NO WAY they could f*** this up considering how good DOS2 was so I quickly bought the early access. Fast forward now and it makes me so emotional to see they winning these awards, it's so well deserved. I can't wait for their next games!
Dude... I've been waiting for this game to come out for over 20 years. They exceeded my expectations. I've had three playthroughs and I plan on more in the future. Thanks to you Wolfheart. This whole experience wouldn't have been nearly as fun without you. Keep up the great work my man.
Even waaaaaay back at the start of Early Access I knew that BG3 was gonna be a great hit. And I was blown away by Neil's performance as Asterion. You can just hear the joy and soul he put into that character from the very first moment you meet his character. BG3 is the kind of game that I dreamed of way back when I was playing Wizardry on my Apple ][.
Daily REMINDER! Wizards of the Coasts ASKED and BEGGED BioWare to make Baldur's Gate 3, but BioWare REFUSED because it wouldn't be interesting enough...
I didn't see the awards, but I get the impression that the winner were pressed for time by the organizers during their acceptance speech. I wish they gave them more time. That's what the people came for mostly. To celebrate those who were worthy of their awards (and not necessarly to see cinematics of future games).
Pat yourself on the back dude. You've been there since 2018. And the biggest reason why I joined your channel to see your opinions on the game. Now, I eagerly anticipate the next 10/10 game you choose to play. You have good taste.
What a well deserved success for Larian. I’m having a blast with my Drow Bard and I started a couch coop game with my spouse and it’s a very enjoyable experience. He’s not into CRPG so, having me to play along with him makes it a much more enjoyable experience for him.
I watched most of the stream with the wolfpack last night and it really did feel like we were all a part of a community, it was great. I actually cheered out loud everytime Larian won anything, especially GOTY. So happpy for them, they deserve all their success
I've been following you since BG3 was announced, Wolfheart, and you've made this entire ride even more enjoyable for me. Your passion for the game is just as clear as Larian's, and that's made you a joy to watch. I hope your channel continues to thrive, because you deserve it.
The first Game od the year I watched somewhat. The years before I didn't really care who won but I am so happy that Larian took the GOTY award home. Well deserved Larian. Can't wait to see what next they have in store for us!
I was so hyped up watching the game awards with the wolfpack last night once they got GOTY! Such a fun time, and thanks as always for your videos and work on BG3 and everything else!
Larian got what they deserved for such hard, loving work. The awards certainly vindicated all the effort you put into this game; it was worth it. It was a victory for both them and you. I was blessed because I was able to watch this incredible game from start to finish, thanks to you. I am actually still watching/cataching up with the honor/urge run. Thank you so much.
8:05 i think that is simply the magic of dnd at work.despite everyones differences and prejudices when you play dnd or in this case bg3 you can forgo all that for the sanctity of enjoying the game for what it is and it allows people who might never otherwise find common ground and friendship otherwise and i think thats a cool part of these types of games with the community it attracts
CEO with plate armor on stage ! ha ha ! It could'nt be another game. I'm so glad to have been, and be part of the wolf pack ! Such a great journey that continues ;)
Hi Wolfheart, I just want to thank you for your work over the years. I started playing BG3 back when it was still in EA, and that's when I discovered your channel. Love your videos, your passion and dedication to this community really shines through. I'm so glad for Larian for winning all these awards. Well deserved. I'm a long time DND player - I can't describe the joy I felt when I played BG3 for the first time. I remember watching the reveal trailer and thinking, Yeah looks good but IDK. I was sceptical because I've seen what happened to Bioware, my once favourite gaming company. Despite everything, Larian managed to create a real masterpiece. So long story short, thank you once again! Love from Poland :)
To further prove that the people working at Larian Studios are not only great at making games they are also amazing in real life. A couple of years ago (4 or 5- ish) I was walking my dog during an incredible hot summer afternoon, like a real heat wave. All of a sudden, a car pulls over and 2 people step out of the car. One guy, who is wearing a T-Shirt from Baldur's Gate (who you can actually see in the reaction part of Wolfs video wearing a yellow T-Shirt and headphones around his head), and a woman holding a small bottle of water start approaching me. These two unique souls actually pulled over and stopped to give my dog a sip of water ❤. I almost forgot about this, but when i saw the guy again on this video, i suddenly remembered his face. Unbelievable. I even recall asking about BG (i knew something was in the oven, or at least a rumor was already spreading), but he was very hush/hush about it. Be kind to yourself and to the people around you, even if they are complete strangers and good things will come your way! Peace ☮
So happy for everyone at Larian and the community. Well deserved. I kinda wish they got the music score award as well since there are so many excellent pieces of music in there, but oh well (actually my favorite is the one playing after the announcement of Best Game award, "Nine Blades")
RIP Jim Southworth, I hope he knew how many people enjoyed and celebrated this game, particularly the cutsecenes. I hope he was proud of this wonderful game🙏🫡
I've been waiting for a game like BG3 my whole life. This game is just so perfect. Thanks, Larian for enriching our lives with this masterpiece. Also, other game devs like Bethesda and Ubisoft seriously needs to start designing their games and story lines more like what Larian did with BG3.
Confess this brought a Real Life tear to my eye - that roar from the audience - oh my heart. Was so well deserved and for so so many reasons. I've still not finished a game. I'm saving that for the holidays and I'm every bit as excited to play as when it first released. What an astonishing few months, a mere 4 months and BG3 has already taken it's place among the Classics of Gaming. And at risk of sounding sycophantic, thanks so much Wolf for your reporting and support for the game. Your upbeat informative entertaining content sets such a lovely positive tone and just makes the surrounding community greater. Many many thanks.
wasn't able to watch but SO happy for BG3. I did vote...so I had my part in that. You are also right that this game brought so many people together. I know I have found a big group of friends from your Chats. YAY BG3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me personally the last occasion I was this truly happy and proud about a video game is when Code Vein surprised me they added a certain underrated female English dub voice actor. Which is a huge deal to me. Would go as far to put this above and beyond that despite my fanboy nature of this certain underrated voice actor because BG3 is important for the entire gaming industry itself including us the community. Sad though. Didn't realize Larian Studio lost some people along the way.
Yep, I cried. I cried when Neil won the award, I cried when BG3 won Game of the year and I felt so happy for every award they won. It's well deserved. They gave us a world we could get lost in for hours. They gave us some of the greatest video game characters ever. So they deserve every praise and every award to honor this game!
I was so happy that BG3 won so many things. It came into my life while I struggled with a lot in my personal life, and it served as an escape. The characters, especially Astarion and Shadowheart, are so lifelike and felt like genuine friends. Congratulations to everyone!
This is going to have huge implications for RPGs and gaming as a whole. Larian deserves it, I'm very happy for them. I just hope they don't lose touch of who they are with all the success that's coming.
I'm so happy Larian won so many awards for BG3. I've never cared much about the Games Awards, but this year it really mattered to me that Larian got GOTY. No RPG has pulled me in so much since Dragon Age. Just a little bummed that Bobby didn't get best Score & Music. I like the stuff from FF, but Bobby's work is on a different level of genius.
I think the funniest part of watching the awards was seeing the spiderman fans lose their shit for losing to a "random unknown game" as they say it. Lol.
Congrats to Larian, I'm so very happy for them. I would have loved for Borislav getting the award for the music. He will at least my personal winner for making such beautiful music. I literally cried at the Nightsong scene and much of that is because of Borislavs incredible music. I think all actors deserve an award. I was tbh honest most impressed with Devora Wild, who gave Lae'zel this unique voice. ANd the Raphael actor, who never sung before. But of course Neil does it deserve too - I just wish, they just could have nominated the whole ensemble.
Both AW2 and BG3 story and writing are awesome! You should play AW2 to see why they won those awards ;) I remember the BG3 version from 2020 (EA) and compare it to today's version.. Oh boy.. I think Larian's Patch Notes explain it better ^_^ Monumental changes all for the better! I am soo happy for both Larian and Remedy! I remember playing all their games from day 0, as I still do today :) Such a wonderful journey!
sad that the Game Advertisments Awards let Kojima speak for 6 minutes straight without a nomination or anything, just a glorified ad but hurry to get the Game of the Year award winners off stage while they talk about a recently deceased friend. TGA really messed up this year and lost alot of integrity imo. Im still very happy for Swen and the BG3 team that they aced it, could've won even more!
Larian and multiplayer. Larian Studios is the private plaything of Swen Vincke and his wife. The absolute top priority for every game they make is that they can cozy up on the couch and play the game together. All the rest is just additional extras.
Im not a fan of crpg's and had a hard time getting into divinity but baldurs gate 3 is just that great its been years since I spend weeks on 1 game alone
Really happy that BG3 won. It was definitely well deserved. Took kind of a gamble because I bought BG3 when it was first released on early access and never did any previous research on it. I just automatically bought it because I’m a fan of the forgotten realms and I’ve read most of the Drizzt books by Salvatore. Also, I played Baldur’s Gate 1 years ago and loved it so I knew I just had to get the game. Turns out it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played and I’ll probably continue to play for years to come.
Gaming won...gamers won... Larian Studios raised the standard and AAA studios need to look up to them!!! Cherie on the cake and on a site now was Kratos roasting COD... You mention Bethesda and Tom Howards, but don't forget about Phil Spencer 😁😁😁😁😁
@@acolytes-of-cthulhu I recently bought a bunch of ps2 and gamecube games because they had good writing and gameplay elements. The ratio of games released with quality was way higher back then
Wolf, thanks for the game awards overview video! When I saw the 1st BG3 trailer, I knew BG3 was going to be a great addition to the BG series! But its been you and the wolfpack that have made the lead-up to now so much FUN! Many thanks to YOU and to the Wolfpack!!!
Anyone knows what kind of suit Neil is wearing? It looks very interesting. And of course, well deserved! Im sooo happy Larian is rewarded for their incredible work!
Hadn't got to see the award yet, but sheesh this made me cry watching them there. The passion behind them is such a overwhelming feeling. Truly one my best games played right next to Skyrim(to this day) ALL the characters were amazing and extremely relatable in multiple facets. God bless Larian
I hope BG3 sells as many copies as or even more than the Witcher 3. I'd like Larian to become a giant company and make more masterpieces like D:OS 2 and BG3.
Big shout-out to the wolfpack! Easily the biggest BG3 community that's actually a community, and also probably the first ever BG3 community. What a ride it has been. Can't wait for Larian's next game.

Proud to be a part of it 🎉
It was really a win for all gamers (even those that are not playing BG3), because it set a signal, that even an independent studio (independent from stock market and big corporations) can make good games and win -- and that quality can win over mediocre games.
You need to just play the game, to see how passionate the developers are. You feel it. This price is well earned!
Did they fix the mess that was Act 3 though?
@@GuruChazThey've been patching the game since release and adding new content
@@GuruChaz I don't know what you are talking about and I guess you do not either. If you would have played the game and not only want to sh*t on it here, you would know. But you just took some rumors that where around two months ago and want to sh*t on the competition.
Coping for Bethesda or for Blizzard? I forgot: *Plonk*
I mostly agree with your point but they are owned I believe 30% by tencent. I can’t blame em, expensive ass game
@TechnicalTyler They are still independent because they don't have a major publisher backing them and Sven is the majority owner. That's why they are classified stoll as an indie company
How beautiful was Neil Newbon though. So happy for all of Larians success
Priorities, after all…
agreeeed. also its annoying that there's time for muppets and silly things but barely a minute for speeches.
The cap on speech times was 30s, from what I’m hearing. What’s the point? Why not just throw the trophies to the recipients and get back to the paid ads? Gross.
@@alanna5842 Tbf, the muppet skit wasn't that bad. I liked it.
@Karlach_ lol for sure no hate to the muppets it was just an odd thing to prioritize over winner's speeches
@@alanna5842 Agreed. No idea what muppets have to do with gaming tbh.
As a little old lady I can only say that BG3 brought me out of gaming retirement. You said it all, and I can only add: thanks for returning fun in gaming back to me, Larian. I thought I‘d lost it for good. And thanks to you @wolfheartFPS for contributing to this community. 👍🏽💋
I got genuinly emotional when Neil hot this. That cazador scene... man... best writen and acted character in gaming ever.EVER
I decided to make a top 100 games of all time for me, as I've been a gamer since the NES/Sega Genesis days. BG3 made it to my number 3 spot lol.
@ItApproaches
What are the first 2?
She is what I like about the game the most
The line she says when you sit on ketheric's throne is singlehandedly the reason she should ve been nominated
Lets be honest, the whole cast should be there
@@xy-te9db I don't recall being able to sit on his throne and her saying anything?
@@ItApproaches just click on his chair in moonrise next time. She will say something about it not being comfortable
Larian pulling the game in by a month to get a jump on Starfield was the ballsiest and big brained move in gaming launch history haha
Yes yes it was and it was epic to witness
It’s epic how Bethesda AND BioWare ended up with pies on their faces.
The icing on the cake is that Starfield went home with ZERO awards. They got beat to market and shut out at the awards show. Perfect.
As it should be.
Finally this is a true win in gaming for awhile.
I agree. This is one of if not the best VGAs I’ve seen.
Gods, Neil Newborn is such a great voice actor. Literally so hard not to have Astarion in my party, because I always miss Neil's performance.
This is one of those times. When those who deserved the win, got the win. Congratulations Larian🎉
Woulda been a riot if they didn't win. Everybody know they're the best.
8 nominations is, in itself, a great win for BG3. Congratulations to Larian and everyone involved. They deserved all the awards they received.
Though what's a crime is Hogwarts Legacy not getting nominated for ANYTHING!
Hell for me Hogwarts Legacy is my 5th favorite game of all time, (made a top 100 list the other week just to see what it would look like, BG3 was my 3rd favorite game of all time btw.)
Other categories it would be nominated for is Players Choice, as everyone who played it had nothing but praise for it.
Why do i hear boss music ?
Still convinced the the BG3 soundtrack is the best gaming soundtrack ever. At least for me
@@Shrews85Soken is amazing.
The game definitely braught us back together
think now we can start to call Sven the paladin of gaming, he already has the armor
DANG RIGHT!!!!!!
And here I am, it's my first CRPG ever 😂 I think other CRPGs will be spoiled for me...
Except that none of your choices matter in any way, and don't affect the plot at all lol.
Wolf, you are part of this success. I am glad for all the good that comes to you. Thanks for everything! Installing Xbox now. I'll let you know how it compares to PC.
Thanks JW!! Enjoy your xbox run.
🍻 🍻 🍻
I'm really glad they won the player's voice award too cause now the hater's cant say it was rigged 😂
Also big thanks to you Wolf for the awesome coverage of the game throughout the years, and brining the attention of wider audiences to the game
And a huge thank you @WolfheartFPS! You made me not only play, but LOVE this game!
Keep up your vids man! love them too!
SKAL
He didn't forget... they got kicked off the stage with a wrap it up sign before he could
The reason why I say forgot is because this is what Sven himself said on Twitter
There were numbers for one of the rounds, and BG3 had about 41000 votes, and CP77PL following second had about 34k votes AFAIR.
The fact that he forgot about the XBox launch shows what is really important to Sven: Making good games and his co-workers and their families.
Or that he was told to hurry up and wrap up the speech. Time is money, after all. /eyeroll
I really wish Borislav got more recognition, but I'm so happy for the team, such well deserved wins in each category :')
Dude... I've been waiting for this game to come out for over 20 years. They exceeded my expectations. I've had three playthroughs and I plan on more in the future. Thanks to you Wolfheart. This whole experience wouldn't have been nearly as fun without you. Keep up the great work my man.
Did anyone else notice the one employee back at Larian who just immediately went back to work?? 😂😂😂😂
This studio deserves every single bit of praise and more.
That's the leader writer crying? I'd be crying too! It was a masterpiece.
I agree! Geoff is going to have to find a nice balance. Last year was too long. This year is too short.
Thanks much
The first Game od the year I watched somewhat. The years before I didn't really care who won but I am so happy that Larian took the GOTY award home. Well deserved Larian. Can't wait to see what next they have in store for us!
So Larian has won a total of 13 awards between the Golden Joystick Awards and The Game Awards. Amazing!
B/c we all tested the early access and voted for BG3!!!! ❤ That's why "we" indeed 😊
🍻
We won it indeed!! I cried.... I am so happy!! Great to see it with the Wolfpack!!
Neil's speech was really beautiful.
Honestly was shocked Karlachs actor didn't get a nomination. Universally loved by all she is.
Yes all true, but Astarion has flamboyant flair.
Hell yeah! I'm so happy for Larian Studios. They deserve it!
I like to imagine that this news caused the CEO of square enix to fall off his giraffe.
Neil's vlogging efforts. And including cast mates, deserves its own reward!

"Ayt fun is over, time to grind"
Neal's speech legitimately almost brought me to tears
A game so good I bought it twice. Once for myself again for my friend when I saw how good it was first hand.
wasn't able to watch but SO happy for BG3. I did vote...so I had my part in that. You are also right that this game brought so many people together. I know I have found a big group of friends from your Chats. YAY BG3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy you found us Dragon!!!
I don't think I've ever been happier for a company than I am for Larian
40 years gaming and BG3 is ALL OF IT!!! for me Please give us DLC Larian I have 1000+ hour in this game and could only bare to finish it once 😀
lead writer shedding tears.., he deserved best narrative just as much as Alan 2 did.., great year 2023!
No studio has ever deserved it more since VGA became a thing in 2014. The best game for atleast 20 years
The way they sprayed the booze all over that tiny room LOL XD I can feel the sticky from here...
Stop licking the damn thing!
You should play AW2 to see why they won those awards ;)
I remember the BG3 version from 2020 (EA) and compare it to today's version.. Oh boy.. I think Larian's Patch Notes explain it better ^_^ Monumental changes all for the better!
I am soo happy for both Larian and Remedy! I remember playing all their games from day 0, as I still do today :) Such a wonderful journey!
BG3 soundtrack absolutely slaps I even learned a few songs on the ukulele and they are my favorite songs to play, I will never tire of it
Even the crowd, filled with other teams hoping to win goty, cheered for this deserved win, gratz larian and thank you!
Rekindled myself as well. It's good to have someone to root for in the game industry
Let's go we did it. Thank you Lauren 🎉🎉
Awesome! Thanks for the coverage. Who's the old dude just carrying on while getting sprayed with champagne during the Larian celebration? Crazy.
Lol I wanna know too!
sad that the Game Advertisments Awards let Kojima speak for 6 minutes straight without a nomination or anything, just a glorified ad but hurry to get the Game of the Year award winners off stage while they talk about a recently deceased friend.
Absolutely
You mention Bethesda and Tom Howards, but don't forget about Phil Spencer 😁😁😁😁😁
they less so raised the standard as they made a return to the old standard where games were actually good.
