Came here to figure out why my fighter plane wasn't working. Turns out I completely forgot to add the "plane" maneuver to the AI. I was almost as confused as the plane was until I saw you doing that. Thanks a bunch!
@@whwhwhhwhhhwhdldkjdsnsjsks6544 yeah not everyone likes to cheese their way through games. Many people actually enjoy playing the game the proper way and to bay abusing weird unplaned mechanics
Technical, you don't want your centre of lift and centre of mass to be that close for aircraft. Rule of thumb, if your lift is higher and further forward than your mass, you'll be more stable but less manoeuvrable, lower and further back is less stable but more manoeuvrable. So, bombers and gunships, high and forward wings, fighter craft, lower and aft wings.
@@GMODISM you'd think so, but from a physics standpoint, it's not really the case, you've got to think of it like a lever, the further from the point of mass a lever is, the more force it exerts for the the same amount of energy.
Is there a way to get the nose of a fighter to stay aimed at an enemy unit? I want my fighter to shoot at enemies without needing a turret for the guns.
Wait, ammo processors were still in the game only a year ago? I felt like they were made useless sooner after when I last stopped playing like 2yrs ago or something lol. Other than that this is still an excellent tutorial, afaik. (I know a lot of ppl have probably corrected this, and I understand it's both a strangely spelled and difficult and uncommon word, but "aileron" is pronounced "a-ler-on" (even that spelling is ambiguous, sorry!) Less ambiguously, it's "A" pronounced just like saying "the letter 'A'" then "ler" pronounced as in "taller" and then "on" pronounced just like the word "on" Hope this helps and also hasn't been said by too many other people!
Great tutorial but I still don't know how to prevent my bomber from doing back flips. I have a few wings and the lift is in the center of the center of mass. :/
@@GMODISM I just made another one which is a decent amount better your tutorial helped a lot after watching it a few times, thanks Edit: my plane was doing good until I started a new campaign and was unlucky enough to encounter many many many many lasers and missile
How do you actually get the AI to behave so good? Mine just keeps losing control of the aircraft and I've followed the tutorial. I know the plane is stable because I've flown it myself manually and it worked fine.
Try decreasing the power of roll, pitch and yaw and it may be more stabile, otherwise your can try adding AI PIDs and stabalize it that way, or try and limit roll for turning in AI settings.
I need help. The plane im currently building is technically finished and working but its tail is always hanging down. Id like it to fly straight though. Is this a lift-mass problem? The fact that I used mostly mental and its to heavy? I just cant figure it out. Please give advice. Thank you
Like in video the center of mass and center of lift should align as exactly as possible, you may try and add lift to the tail, but usually better to move the wings further back so lift aligns mass.
@@GMODISM the thing is I tried everything, of couse including aligning them and moving lift back and forth. Nothing has gotten the tail up yet though. This is also a recurring problem in all of my more heavy planes
Despite me getting both lift and mass identical my plane keeps yawing left and right can I get some help here also added an equal amount of tail planes to
Well I tried again and now it at least stays un the air I'm gonna use someone's else design and make some effective anti air units to supplement my lack of a proper airplane
Came here cause my plane went a little too fast and I ended up in space, at 1400 meters right now but only 2 m/s so I have time before I can play again lmao.
You actually just prevented me from driving myself insane
Glad to hear that! Fly safe mate!

Oh, you actually saved both my time and my sanity!

Glad it helped!
I need a fast plane to transport resources so this came in clutch

would love a helicopter tutorial, thanks for the videos
Great idea! Never made one myself, should be looked into!
@@GMODISM they are actually quite fun to make, they sometimes work well as boarding craft for piracy
Prediction guidance would help with hitting the targeg more central
Great video, but how are you flying the plane while in a third person view? How are you flying without a control wheel?
The AI is flying it, manual control is hard in this game

Hmm, central for both is the best of both worlds, but, your insight makes a very good video so I must simply test it!

Great vid man. Can u please give the numbers of this gold color? Like how much green/blue/red/alpha
Very informative tutorial, thank you.
Taking the barrel ammo magazine to the next level by filling be plane with literal ammo barrels
Ok time to convert all i learned here to build a cargo plane for my resource transport needs
My Ai keeps losing control of my plane even though i set it up like you.. whats wrong ?!

Hello, thanks for the tutorial however my plane is constantly looping in the air and flying away. Do you know a fix? Thank you
Well, try my newest tutorial i maj explain things better there
It's about drag, propulsion and com

coleman bundy is your propulsion in line with CoM as well? Propulsion not being in line with CoM can force the vehicle to flip.
Just one question is the basic about the lifting force still working?
Somewhat, but updated tutorials are coming. But mostly yes. So stay tuned ^^
I tried making a plane… I called it the special seagull because it is clunky and flies at slow speeds before dropping 50 missiles onto the enemy
Hahaha seagulls are not the greatest seaside friends haha

I understand everything otehr than how in gods name you made the wings areodynamic, theres blocks there i just dont see
The Video is quite old and the game had some Updates
He has a new one about Planes thats 4 months old.
You should look a that Video.
Quick Question for you, Would you be able to explain why my dediblades are stuck at 3 rad/s when used horizontally instead of vertically?
No idea actually, try asking some developer in the official discord
RomeGill you might have something that wants to use it idk

You need to adjust the positioning of your wings
Lower the back wings lift factor then fine tune it till your plane can fly in a straight line

my plane keeps going up and down plz help
Too efficient pitch or unbalanced craft, I'd guess
Does this still work?
Probably, best to give it a try
As soon as I add aileron my plane just fly sideways and crash
Maybe set the ai to not roll as hard?
It didn’t work
