Very interesting.....after a bit of googling, found out we have 3 types of snake here ( which Im sure youll be familiar with ) including one venomous snake, the adder. I didnt know we had venomous snakes, dont tend to hear of any bites, but I guess theres just not that many of them?!!
We've actually got a decent number of adders in Britain and there are usually 50-100 bites reported each year. I think you don't tend to hear about the bites because adders don't generally go after people so a lot of bites happen because someone did something stupid like trying to pick an adder up. I'd assume they wouldn't want to make it publicly known that they thought picking up a venomous snake was a good idea!
