You are welcome!
One of the most beautiful songs ever made (and one of my favourites) still not very known...
For sure a beautiful song and one that I hadn't heard in years myself. It was nice to revisit it here. Thanks for the comment. 👌🎶
🙂☮️
Well done. The only thing I thing I thought to change is that the effect decays a little fast. But you did a great job of getting the sound!
Especially good audio quality. Excellent content and presentation.
Thanks Thomas! It was another fun one to do. I had forgotten how good this song was.
Well done Marc!
Thanks Dave!
This is brilliant! I have the course, so I was able to download and get this working in about two minutes! Thanks!
@Tim Johnson Fantastic! So happy to hear this and thanks for being a student Tim!
Love to see a video on how to make "Take My Breath Away" synth bass:)
Hello Noah. Well, I actually did this sound for a student enrolled in the Stage 3 course at one point. You inspired me to release it as a short just now to at least hear how it came out. Here it is (hot off the press): ua-cam.com/video/05SCROU5JcE/v-deo.html However, there isn't enough time to explain it all in the short itself. I may add it to the course along with the "Runaway" sound which is embedded in the same program.
@@MyKeysToMusic Awesome! Love your videos man. Extremely helpful
@@noahforbes8518 Thank you Noah! Let me know if there are questions along the way...
How about that 'gong'-like intro to Beat It? That would be cool.
Interesting idea! That would require some "FM Synthesis" based on the quick research I just did. I'll consider this as a possibility down the road especially if any attempts I make come out well.
The guitar was ran through a Moog synthesiser. The story goes that the guy who owned it brought it to the studio when they were recording and after they’d packed up he said “I hope you are happy with it because we’ll never be able to get that again!”
@Sensory Triggered That's an amazing story!!! Thanks for posting that. I'd be curios to attempt something like that again with a Moog One or something like that haha!
@@MyKeysToMusic Yes, me too! They experimented a few times with Moog synthesisers. You did an amazing job replicating it!
@@sensorytriggered5606 Thanks! Sometimes these things just work out. Other times I could spend an hour or two on something and not even be in the ballpark. The Nord boards are very flexible, however, and we can get close on most things - especially before the 80s when synths were more straightforward in their architecture.
@@MyKeysToMusic I’ve never really ventured into Korg stuff… Maybe I should!
That’s way cool Marc! We had that song at our Wedding in 1976! Question: Could you duplicate that sound on the Nord Electron 6 D?
I just bought one and would love to have that sound! P S…I never knew it was a Guitar that Bread played in the beginning! 💜
@merry384harpwood I like the way you spell your first name! So Merry, first, I think that it's terrific that you had this as your wedding song in 1976. It just goes to show how powerful music can be in our lives, and now whenever you hear this song, you are taken back to that exact day and to those exact moments.
Next, congrats on your Electro 6D - you have a fantastic sounding board that can emulate piano, organ and synth samples.
This sound, however, would be harder to duplicate on the Nord Electro 6 because a big part of what makes that guitar/keyboard intro sound come to life is the fact that we have the stickiness along with the fading filter, the LFO, and the wah effects all coming together in a very specific way. All of these things are built into the full synth engines like what you find on the Nord Stage and Wave series of keyboards. The Electro, on the other hand, can provide basic traditional sounds (piano, organ, and synth samples) but doesn't have all of those necessary features to dial in a sound as you hear in this video. You could potentially sample a starting sound and do it that way for the Electro. But, you'd have to have the sound to begin with and learn how to sample sounds on your own.
This is something someone with the skill could likely do if they had a Stage 3 in about an hour, provided they could reproduce the sound as I've done here or they had access to the sound as an existing student/supporter. They would also have to be very familiar with how to make samples too.
Speaking of learning how to make samples, if this is an area of interest, I provide a free course on how to do that on my main website: www.MyKeysToMusic.com (although I don't have a sample for this song FYI).
*Continue to enjoy your Electro - I have a few videos here that you might find interesting:*

Ah, one of my go-to karaoke songs! Sweet!
Hello Andrie! Yes, they did a really good job with this one actually. In fact, on most of the songs, they do a really good job. Sure, there have been a few "questionable ones" here and there but for the most part, they keep it real. Thanks for your comment.
@@MyKeysToMusic Really? Who did the karaoke version?
@@MyKeysToMusic And, oh boy, I've experienced my fair share of the "questionable" karaoke versions, mostly on karaoke VCDs/DVDs!
@@andriealinsangao613 So, I use the site called Karaoke Version: www.karaoke-version.com/?aff=889 and this is how I did the video. In this example here, I removed the beginning guitar part but left the vocals. However, with the website, you can remove the vocals and leave everything else and download that. In other words, you can create a traditional Karaoke version without vocals or do other things like keep everything except the keyboard part. I do this all the time in my videos and I call it "Keyboard Karaoke". See this video: ua-cam.com/video/GmoI9K9jMCs/v-deo.html
@@andriealinsangao613 Oh Yes! It's interesting when the vocals come out with thick accents from time to time. But all in all, I have very few complaints about their offering (Karaoke version).
Bread one of the first "Supergroups", a band put together by a record company selecting musicians. I remember back in the day Bread had a few hits, but live people weren't that fond of them because they sounded too perfect, exactly like the record live.
Interesting! There are so many fascinating things about the music business. Thanks for sharing this.
I don't have much experience with synths but I'm looking for the synth solo sound on George Harrison's All Those Years Ago. Not the synth strings, just the synth solo.
Hello @Artur lozzi Congratulations! Your idea made it as a full-featured video on UA-cam! Great idea Artur - I had fun doing this one. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/JAJv36GxlG4/v-deo.html
