I get tears in my eyes watching this gentleman. My grandfather was a barber in Atlanta , Georgia before I was born. He gave me my first haircut when I was 6 months old. I spent a lot of time in his barbershop. I watched in awe when he preformed his art. He treated each customer as if they were the most important person in town. Watching him give hot shaves with his straight razor was always a special treat for me. I miss him and that barbershop so much. If I could go back in time, that is exactly where I’d go.

I couldn't wipe the smile off my face the whole time I was there. Happy to say the Guardian Angel of Route 66 is still going strong in 2019!
I live in Arizona and I'd love to see him, but from my location its several hours away. I live more south east of the state. I've only been to one real barber once and the guy mostly worked on men, not females or young children. So my hair cut has not the best. XD I just love this guy's compassion and story telling. You can tell he enjoys what he does and takes his time unlike most places that tend to rush.
One thing I can tell you is to listen to this man. Listen to the “old people” because they will teach you so much about life. Their value is so great and to often it is overlooked. He makes me want to be a better person.
Sadly ... "listening to old people" and to "tales from decades ago" will get you called REGRESSIVE and worse these days, when it is simply "learning from the past".
I think a better way to look at this is to listen to those who deserve to be listened to. Just because someone’s old doesn’t all of a sudden give them all the good values and intentions in the world. Same goes for treating those with respect who deserve respect.
What a marvelous old chap ! He reminds me SO much of my late maternal grandfather, the father of twelve children, whom I used to hear speaking in almost exactly the same manner, holding court at the head of the dinner table,..born in 1915, I used to love listening to his huge reservoir of stories.
My grand parents and parents have taught me well I always leave my phone in my room at dinner or put it away when at a restaurant I value conversation more than anything,I've learned so much from people like angel they are mentors to the young and their more valuable than any teacher
Priceless, thank you very much for preserving history. This is a priceless memory. What a beautiful old gentleman. And sounded vice as well. Thank you for sharing
@7:15 He's talking about Route 66 getting bypassed by I-40. I know exactly what he's talking about. I grew up in Tucumcari, NM. It too, was bypassed by I-40 in the early 80s. The town declined dramatically afterwards. But there is a big interest in the Historic Route 66 tour business. We have a Historic Route 66 like most towns along the old Mother Road
If I could be half the man this guy is I would have a wonderful life. Such a beautiful person, we need more people like this in our world. Words from a very wise man, words we should all listen too. I'm so glad I ran into this video. Thank you.

As a “younger person” (24), I completely agree. People around my age and younger, myself included, spend way to much time staring at a phone instead of conversing. Someone mentioned about going to a restaurant only to see a couple staring at their phones the whole time. Made me self conscious because I did the same thing to. Started being more conscious about it and now do my best to just put it away

Just as my family did for me. I was lucky to have grandparents from the depression who talked to me, and gave me this same wisdom you give your customers and viewers. My parents were of the same school of thought and work ethic. I thank you sir, very much.

Not only does this Barber have a technique to cut hair exquisitely, but his share of life experience and day to day observations is so so true, it reflects our modern society.
His real knowledge isn't just in his stories but in his memories that have taught him how to handle life. We need to cherish and respect the way our elderly think and feel of what transpired while walking through life. Life is a gift of Time to Feel.

When I arrived Angel was giving an inspirational lesson to a group of teens who had stopped by on a tour bus. The kids loved his stories & the gift store staff were extremely friendly too! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face the whole time I was there. Happy to say the Guardian Angel of Route 66 is still going strong in 2019!
That's so awesome to hear! We love Angel ❤️
I wouldn’t have known about this place if not for your videos. Thank you!
If I’m down and out i come and watch him talk about the past he’s just one of those talkers that calms you down
Probably the best one ever. A legend and amazing history. This is Americas greatest generation
Just saw Angel on tv on Hairy Bikers show, looking and sounding good. As soon as I heard them say they were visiting Seligman I knew Angel would be on
tarff26 watched it on IPlayer. Good to see him very alive and well. I think he would have enjoyed giving them a trim.
So much wisdom comes from our elders, we need to slow down enough in our lives to listen and learn from them. Great video. Thanks.
Hello - thanks so much for watching! Glad you liked this!
I could sit for hours and listen to men like this
90 years old?
Damn, i need to book a flight from Denmark to AZ asap..
Before this legend of a man passes away
Glad he gets to be immortalized by videos like this. I hope he makes it to 100
Absolutely agree my friend. Soon there will be nobody left of this caliber of integrity and sheer guts.
@friendly Jew oh no 😢
Uhh guys he’s still alive👍
Mad respect for this man, he's clearly been through so much
I. Agree. And now this world is a mess
This is the American dream with people like this you can make America great again
I hope this fine gem of person is still with us today. I love this guy.
I come back and watch this video every so often and it's exceptionally humbling to see Angel and listen to him speak. What a true treasure.
Same here aron
You want a free haircut? I get to choose the style...No Hair!! Bahahaha i bust out laughing so hard! 😂
Whenever I see this man I get good vibes
"If you wait for an elected official, you'd starve to death!" - Angel Delgadillo
Brilliant!
santoslittlehelper06 very powerful
santoslittlehelper06 thats going up in my office
And yet so many people believe that their problems will be solved by the government and elected officials. Madness.

Priceless, thank you very much for preserving history. This is a priceless memory. What a beautiful old gentleman. And sounded vice as well. Thank you for sharing
@7:15
He's talking about Route 66 getting bypassed by I-40.
One of the nicest gentleman I have ever had the honour & pleasure of watching and listening to The world 🌎 needs more Angel’s 🙏❤️🙏
If I could be half the man this guy is I would have a wonderful life. Such a beautiful person, we need more people like this in our world. Words from a very wise man, words we should all listen too. I'm so glad I ran into this video. Thank you.
I’m with you brother. I hope even our children will learn from this wisdom

This man is brilliant. Im a 28 year old barber and this gentleman is awesome. I would love to a have a barberchair right next to him.
His blend technique with the flatop is perfect
I can listen to this old man forever
Bicause of old ppl like this guy you can go anywere in the world and not feel alone they are always ready to share their history and make you feel welcome to a new country. Love this vedio.
Could listen to this bloke talk all day and so much respect for him, legend!!
Damn he remember all those timeline precisely. I can't even remember what I had for dinner yesterday😅
Just goes to show how wise people back then were. Im 20 years old and i hate to sound like "one of THOSE guys" but i honestly dont believe the young generation will be able to hold down society in the future
@@bigmarv5656 that what our leaders want us to be unstable for a reason i was raised by old school father and He is 53 years old i am fed up i heard my generation zoomers is most conservatives little more than boomers.
@VANESSA ADEE hahhaahha omg me too
😂😂😂
@@bigmarv5656 memory retention does not beat problem solving.
When he talked about the younger people with their mobiles and they've lost the mood to talk normal to each other .. he was so right.
It was done on purposes...
Angel is such a wonderful soul❤️ he is one of those people who need to be protected at all cost
Jocelyn Reyes yes absolutely. I'm kind of emotional when it comes to seeing people being hurt. The older I'm getting the more I Love people I don't even know.

I very much enjoy listening to your wisdom of history. I also enjoy how effortless you make a perfect haircut and shave appear.
I talk to my daughters like adults, not children. Just as my family did for me. I was lucky to have grandparents from the depression who talked to me, and gave me this same wisdom you give your customers and viewers. My parents were of the same school of thought and work ethic. I thank you sir, very much.
I can listen to Angel talk about his life and the history of route 66 all day. Everything he says is interesting and how he truly thinks, a great storyteller indeed
Lol when he vacuumed your head....Bless him.
Quaverflava
Flowbee?
QuaverFlava I wish they still did that today I always leave itchy then heck
Dude I would love for then to dat instead of those annoying hot towel
My barber still does that.
An old Asian immigrant lady who cuts my hair vacuums my head after lol
wow! i live in AZ and passed by Seligman hundreds of time going to NV and never knew this treasure was right here in my home state! next time i'm going to stop by and get a shave from him!
MrFreddy61 did you?
Did you stop by, I hope so.
Did you stop and get the shave?
MrFreddy61 did you get it ?
Did u ?
I have watched this video several times. Most times I ignore it and use it just to nod off. Watched it now, actually paying attention to it, I absolutely love his dry, but good natured humor in the beginning. It just flows.
This man is completely right, alot of valid points made. I wish nothing but health and wealth for him and his family for years to come.
I am an indian studing in ASU ...
When I came here, I thought wow America is so different, until I met this person..He talks just like my grandfather back in India.. stories are similar, country is different.. these people are building blocks .. RESPECT
Hello - thanks so much for watching and commenting! The best part of our travels is meeting so many great people around the world, and we have found so many more similarities than differences. Good luck with your studies at ASU :)
@Bobbi Floss dude. Stop
@Bobbi Floss rude
Not only does this Barber have a technique to cut hair exquisitely, but his share of life experience and day to day observations is so so true, it reflects our modern society.
“Sir??”. I love this guy. Could hang out with him all day
Everytime i watch the videos of Mr. Delgado i get the chill bumps
His real knowledge isn't just in his stories but in his memories that have taught him how to handle life. We need to cherish and respect the way our elderly think and feel of what transpired while walking through life. Life is a gift of Time to Feel.
That man is a national treasure.
When you tune in for the asmr but end up sat up right listening to the wisdom
He can crack better jokes than many youngsters
Well he's had about 91 years to practice!
I just want to sit there and talk to this gentleman and listen to all his stories of what life was like before America went wrong! Makes me miss my grandfather and his stories
Everything about this guy is great. He’s the spirit of America!
The single greatest barber video of alltime. It truly captures the homey, friendly, small town dynamic Better than anything ever before on UA-cam
Hello - thanks so much for your comment! Great to hear you liked this! We had a lot of fun seeing Angel again :)
I love that part. Nobody owes you anything. A lot of people need to get that through their thick skulls.
AMEN!!!!!
He's a quality old school dude no doubts there. I love sitting and talking with my elders and I'm no spring chicken..it's basically respect..
Boy you get around Harry.. another one to the list pal..
Few things in life are as satisfying as watching someone who takes pride in their work.
