Thanks for sharing. Should I have my entire table and surrounding area cleared? e.g. Does the proctor make you sweep the room with the camera like the LSAT (e.g. under the chair!)? Any benefit to having a 2nd screen? Can you even have the digital version accessible? I've already printed and tabbed it. And can you go to the bathroom during the 2 hours? Thanks!
Hey! I would always recommend having a clear space - set yourself up for success and make sure you’re comfortable with enough room to navigate any hard copy materials. When I took the exam, which was a while ago now (2018/19) there wasn’t a room sweep but the camera was on and software would monitor your computer usage, but things may have changed, so I’d recommend doing the practice assessment to see what the real thing will be like. From memory, we couldn’t leave to use the bathroom so if you need accommodations to be comfortable please do reach out to BOLE! Regarding digital copies, I think some people do use them, but please don’t use the searchable one as this is an character and fitness offence and I know there are some floating around.. my advice is to get super familiar with your hard copy and then you won’t need an online version and you can flick to where you need to be without toggling screens etc. Good luck - I have every confidence in you!!
This is super useful ! If I can ask, I want to take my time with the NYLC (got a full time job whilst doing this). If I start let's say week of 26 august 2024, and sit the NYLE in December 2024 or after. Would that be possible? or is it that if we start the NYLC then you must complete it by the next exam date? I just don't want to feel the time pressure. Just recovering from the UBE. Thanks in advance
Congratulations for writing the UBE! The estimated prep time is the amount of time it takes to do the videos + time to familiarise yourself with the provided materials. If I were you, I’d start by looking at the time you have available and then looking at the volume of material to cover and that should give you the rough amount of time you need to prepare - it’s all bespoke to your situation :-) wishing you every possible success for the remaining exams!!
Thank you for your help! It’s been one year and I’ve now passed both the NYLE and the Bar exam and am officially a licensed attorney. Your video truly made a difference in my success and I’m very grateful!
@@Chanel0825oh my goodness, Congratulations!! I’m so excited for your new chapter 🤩🎉✨ Very much hope to see you in practice one day! Really glad to have helped! Thanks for coming back to update me, you’ve made my day!!🤩😁✨
Are you after the PDF from NY BOLE? If so, here’s the link nybarexam.org/Content/NewYorkCourseMaterials.pdf you can also find it on the NY BOLE website under the NYLC/NYLE tab!☺️💫
Hi there I’ve started watching the video on the NYLE. Say I don’t finish the video before the due date In November and can’t make the Dec exam ; what happens
@@barristerbali8225 Hey! 👋 From memory, you could only get to booking the NYLE once you completed the NYLC course videos. If that’s still the case, then you’d be eligible to write the next available exam after you finish the videos. I don’t think you have to sign up for the immediate exam session after you finish the NYLC, but remember there is a deadline on when you need to have completed it in relation to your UBE score☺️
Hey! Thanks so much for your question! When it comes to other peoples notes, I wouldn’t use them or place priority on them and here’s why - this exam tests your personal knowledge and to do that you need to address your personal ‘blind spots’ which won’t necessarily be reflected in another test takers notes. The way you’ll expose your own blind spots is noting down the questions you get wrong and things that come up in the NYLC that you didn’t know or didn’t have 100% nailed down as you were going through. So imo, it’s a wayyyy better use of your time to focus on that (and for reassurance, everything that you actually need to pass this exam is given to you already by BOLE). Hopefully this makes sense? So in short, you’ve got this and you don’t need anyone’s notes (in my opinion).
Lol I took all questions and videos in October and signed up for September . I forgot everything but all of the material parallels the rules under ube with minor deviations. I’ll try not to fail next week

@@catchupwithkai that is still the case. All the courses have to be completed before you’re allowed to register.
@ thank you, it’s handy to know it hasn’t changed!!🤩✨
This was so helpful! Ethically speaking, do you think it’s ok to ask previous test takers for their NYLC notes?
