    Great video. Thank you. I replaced my passenger side regulator and motor with fewer steps. Once the bolts were removed from the black inner door panel and the latch there was enough wiggle room to remove the window and damaged parts and install the new regulator and motor then reinstall the window. Pushing down hard on the window to make it lock into the regulator was the solution to my only issue. Thanks again.

    Don't have to unplug harnes. Don't have to put assembly inside shell first and try to bolt in after. Can bolt new on and stick whole thing in door. Sorry to critique but alot of extra work

    Thank you. Just what I needed. Question: would it be easier to put the regulator on the door panel when it’s out of the car? Thank you.

      There's no issue with doing it that way. As long as you can shift the regulator back into the door since it does stick out a little bit beyond the panel.

    Great video......cost me 450 to have it done at the shop. Thanks for showing me not to even attempt it.:)

    Thank you, great explanation of what needed to be done. I paid to have this done once. After watching this video I did it myself the 2nd time it went out. I suggest purchasing a good quality regulator.

    Thank you so much! This video saved me $650 dollars and I learned a new skill. Excellent tutorial. Getting the glass to pop in to place was the worst part of the process. Lining up the regulator also sucked. I ended up attaching it first and then putting everything in place.

    This is not the correct way to do this there is an easier way if you follow this guide you will do more work than is necessary and have more frustration

      Hmmm. Ok, but what *is* the correct way? It doesn't help anyone to just say it is wrong....

      Lots of comments like this, but no solutions for better. It seems the consistent direction is to replace the whole regulator assembly, instead of repairing the cables. I guess there is a point where it isnt time effective to go through the process of how-to assemble the assembly. I have tried, and found nothing on how to put regulator assembly together, only swap-out. So be it, I will just buy one.

    after replacing the regular and the motor I press the bottom to go up automatically, but when it gets to the top the window returns itself. Why is that? And how I can fix it?

      @APDTY  Рік тому

      Hello, All you have to do is reset the limit switch. To do this, press and hold the up button and hold the button for 10 seconds after the window has gone all the way up. Then do the same thing with the down button.

    I called parts store and they ask me if it's a 2 pin or 6 pin .I never herd of that ,could you tell me if it's a 2 or a 6

    • @MiguelReynoso
      @MiguelReynoso Рік тому +1

      They are referring to the connection for the motor. Some have two pins or 6 pins. You got to take off the door and just check the connection on the motor.

      Your model had two options from hte factory for power windows. One option is with the AUTO up down feature, and one is without. THe one with the AUTO feature has a 6-pin window motor and connector. The non-AUTO models have the 2-pin motor and connector. They are not intercahngeable.

    Very helpful! Thank you. Now the only issue after install I have now is when engaging the window to go all the way up it automatically goes down own it’s own. 🤷🏻‍♂️ would you know what would cause that?

    • @StupidRalph
      @StupidRalph Рік тому +1

      Look up resetting power window. Can't remember offhand but the van doesn't know the current position of the window. Try rolling down the window (not auto roll down) holding down the button and wind it back up same way and hold 5 seconds.

    • @phillipshank2392
      @phillipshank2392 Рік тому +3

      Not sure if you got it fixed yet or not, but often the power window needs to be 'reset'. Hold the window up switch to drive the window all the way up, and continue to hold the switch for 2 seconds after the window is fully up (closed). This teaches the module the closed position, and the automatic functions should work normally after this reset.

    • @APDTY
      @APDTY  Рік тому

      You may need to reset the limit switch. ON most models, all you do is press the up button and continue holding it for 10 seconds after the window rolls all the way up. Do the same thing for the down button. You may need to do it a 2nd time but it will relearn the limits.

    What size is the bolts to secure the Regulator and the size of screws to attach the motor to the regulator. For a 2014 dodge caravan .Thank you so much if you can help.

    Why would my window come up crooked?

    • @APDTY
      @APDTY  Рік тому

      Is this after replacement? It could be the window glass attachment points to the regulator are broken or not attached properly if just installed. It could also be the regulator is broken or not bolted in properly.

    8:30 As soon as you get that unit out, SEPARATE The the little wing that the latch assembly mounts to from the inner door panel, give it a little tap and it slide off. It's so much easier to hook the rods to the latch when you can actually see what you're doing.
