Definitely recommend trying "QA1 MOD shock" coilovers on one of the drag cars. The company will sponsor you and their shocks currently hold multiple drag records. Basically theyre the most tunable product on the market. Used by many No Prep and 1/8th mile drivers. MOD Shocks are designed with modular/interchangeable valve packs that allow complete revalving without removing the shock from the car. Literally perfect for Drag and Drive events. Aswell as usual compression and rebound adjustments including slow bleed, the shocks also have coarse valving adjustment (high speed) and fine tune valving adjustment (slow speed)

Kyle and the hatch have been through thick and thin together, when you spend that much time with a car you learn what it will do and what it wont do, what it likes to do and what it doesnt like to do. When you take care of a car like Kyle does, the car will take care of you. Kyle and the hatch have a relationship that all car guys can understand. That relationship is what makes us love our cars so much and why we are so dedicated to them. Those taps on the steering wheel before the final pass shows exactly how he feels about his car. Put an AC clutch on the alternator and trigger the command on when braking like modern cars. Or maybe consider a bigger pulley so it’s not being spun too high.

I know you’re probably not gonna read this comment, but it looks like the suspension did nothing. I would definitely recommend to the spring rate on the rear to probably like 1200/1500k springs

i truly fell in love with the hatch when you did the halfmile 1-2-5 shift. sounded insane. it have torgue like a freighttrain and i think a gearing change would fit well.
I see this is an older video but here’s something I learned decades ago. Header collector gaskets. I blow standard ones then used copper ones. They were supposed to be one install and done yet I used the same ones 3 times on different headers and never leaked. Something to consider!
IME a tiny boost leak like that one wouldn't reduce your power significantly. In fact, a common mod on the F150 Ecoboosts is to poke a tiny hole in the intercooler to reduce fluid buildup.

It's cool to see the hatch ripping, especially when it was front wheel drive. It shows all us backyard mechanics that don't have a ton of money that you can build a fast, fun car for "cheap". Compared to your other cars the hatch is a cheap build lol. Super awesome seeing it rip with alot of parts that guys like us run daily
alternator needs an under drive pulley!!!! You could be over reving the alt because of the high rpms. A larger alternator pulley could slow it down on the high end and keep it alive longer.
Ive seen those stock hood latches fail before. I was racing a buddie with my 96 accord. I think he had like a 92 civic coupe. We went over a bump at like 100 right next to each other and his hood came flying open and totalled his car basically. All around his windshield was dented beyond repair. Sad day for him. He lost the race also😂

@@dougn6465 no hate. he talked about changing the exhaust manifold to fit a full hood. And further upgrades for the hatch. He built this thing a while back and his skills have improved. All I’m saying is that with the new skills and paint he could fully overhaul the hatch.

What some guys do is put a bigger pulley on the alternator. Slows them down and helps them live at 9k+ engine speeds.

For alternators look into car audio 230a ones or even 400a if you feel like. They can charge upto 16v w ease especially if you have a lithium battery

#1 thing you should do is clean every ground. Thats what kills Alternators, coils and any controller. Ecu can't work if it's not well grounded.

Change the pulley size on the alternator to slow it down.
Maybe soften the spring in the rear and increase damping for a more smooth weight tranfer
