Let’s give a huge shout out to Steve Morris racing for building an absolute bulletproof monster. 2 drag and drive events plus 2 or 3 other events a few thousand miles of driving all with ZERO failures. Unheard of with an engine that makes that kind of power. When he sends that motor back to Steve I hope they do a video of the breakdown of the engine so we can see the internals and the wear before the refresh. 🇺🇸💪🏼
@@NewTrip_NewAdventure you ain’t kidding. My older brother used to say that all the time. He had a ‘67 Camaro with a 454. Then drop the compression and added a 671 blower, dropped a piston in that motor. Then bought a 502 crate motor. This is all like 25 years ago by the way. Then had Reher Morrison racing engine build a high compression 630 something cubic inch big block. That is when I realized there is no substitute for cubic and compression. That motor made like 1200+ hp on pump gas. Sorry so long winded. I haven’t thought about that car in a while and was reminiscing… lol

I was coming to comment this. That is how a real boss acts. He actually had no part with the transmission going back in and pinching the line but he stands in front of his team and takes the blame. What a guy!
Cleet is one of the nicest most respectable automotive UA-camrs out there yet nobody gives him the credit he deserves.

@@vdubluv610 He said they had to remove it again AFTER the guys put it back in and thats when he was helping them RE install it. I was just assuming he was saying that to keep the internet trolls off his guys azzes but my cousin was there and he said they actually DID pull it again for some reason and Garrett was helping then because of the time issues. Either way, he is a good dude!

What are the transmissions called they run?
@@mariusstrothmann4569 liberty 5 speed or a lenco. Basically a pro mod clutch less transmission
Those little suckers are incredible. I had no idea that one in the finals was a rotary and that they'd swapped the engine out in 30 minutes before the race! I know their launches aren't that much different from Mullet's but I guess because the car is so small and tends to pull the front wheels and bounce a little, they look so violent. I don't know whether those Starlet guys were PR or Dominican or where they were from, but they have major huevos driving those little things.
Full motor swap just to break the beam… just in case

That car is also surprisingly fast off the line, definitely has a good team behind him dialling in the suspension etc.

@@camerongreco2146 If any SM engine would be going in Leroy it would be the new SML, but I haven't heard anything about that actually happening.
@@Gobbbbb Mullet really hit its potential when Pete came onboard to tune it. Kevin and Dr. Tune-em-all are good with his LS cars but man, Pete makes that Steve Morris engine really sit up and dance.
Mullet goes from consistently breaking about every 6 passes to consistently running 6es and winning everything. Congrats Cleetus you deserve it all.
That's what it takes. Sh*t happens. You learn. You fix your mistakes. And then more mistakes. You learn more. Then the car starts performing with consistency.
1320 ALWAYS kills it with the footage and it's amazing to see how serious Garrett is taking the McFarland Racing. Started out goofing off now he's able to be goofy when he wants but when it comes to racing & fun with his friends in general the Man is on a mission.

Cleetus has really reignited motor sports. So many people have found interest in it since his YT channel and his cleetus and cars events. You're definitely doing it for Dale brother
It's wild watching all of Cleetus' videos on WFC and then this here. The coverage of these race events from 1320 Video only show snippets, the front stage if you like. But one watches these videos differently when you know ALL of the struggle the whole McFarland Racing team (yes, Cleetus can call his boys easily a racing team!) went through. This makes this win at WCF so much more epic... 😎🤟

Update the red starlet in the final went 6.46 at 212mph during this week. If we t wouldn’t bog in the line that would of been hell of a race

I've been to Cleetus and cars twice in Indy, walked right up to Cleetus while he was packing his chute and talked cars. Asked him if James still had the Sentra. 1320, if you see this let James know I have a stock SE-R to race against his.
Also Mullet has been a champion since day one! Born winner!

This years WC was my 12yo sons first drag race. He had seem me watch plenty on UA-cam and knew who Cletus was. We went Sat/Sun. He hurt his face smiling so much. And now I’m looking for a fox body or a 3rd Gen to build for him. 🤣🤣. Can’t say I’m mad about it
To put this into perspective if my math is correct. Mullet's fastest pass is 6.47 and on this pass if Mullet sat at the line on the 2-step and another car passed him going 139mp and Mullet took off when their noses were equal, they would have equal 1/4mile times.

Sometimes they use multiple engines to get through an event.

dr tunemall did excellent even tho he over shot the beams he was fast enuf to back up and re stage and then he won the race! killer performance and hopefully he gets into running quarter mile, it looks like alot of fun! jackstand jimmy and Cletus are killin it!
