I don't know how I came across this video, but I am glad I did it. The story is simply beautiful. My labrador, Sunny, passed away 2 days ago as he had aggressive skin cancer. He looked almost identical to the one in the video. The video made me cry as I remember the beautiful years spent with him, who was also my best friend. I always tried to imagine what would Sunny tell me if he had a voice. Needless to say, his face expressions helped me understand him so well. Whenever I had to leave the house, I used to tell him: wait for me, I am coming soon, I promise and I love you. He always waited for me so patiently, like the dog in the video. I was his human. A part of me died, when he died. Thank you for this great short film!
@florinacarmen7608 I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand you when you say "a part of me died, when he died". But I'm sure he knew and felt you loved him very much. Think of all the good memories and happy life you lived together, it may help you heal, altough I know we never forget them. 💔😘
Your story made me cry as I also have a dog and I tell the same thing to her “ dad and mum re going out and we will be back soon”. Evry night before we go to bed we whisper in her ears “ Mum and Dad love you the most”
Dogs are protective, funny and really sweet. Sometimes annoying but as soon as you get home it will jump on you with pure excitement. My family had a labrador-azkal dog named Yuki for 11 years. She was so cute when she was little. This is the first Christmas that I will not be with her. Same as with Rikku, another cute little yorky dog. They both died last month (October) which is really sad. Carzy Canine Distemper. They are family already and I missed them both dearly. I guess they are already in a better place with no more pain. I guess I need to find a GF soon, just kiddin aside. Let's just cherish the happy memories of our dogs and look forward to better days. On another note, the scene were the dog run to her owner after getting better from covid is really touching. It almost made me cry.
This is one of finest piece of art I have ever witnessed in a form of a short film. As humans we finally got the chance to experience life from a dog’s perspective.
I was feeling so bad because I thought she had died and the poor dog's fate could be terrible so I loved the happy ending. Good short film to make us reflect in our pets' fate if we disappear.
We recently lost our 13 year old yellow lab, Dallas, to cancer...this film brought him back to me for a beautiful nine minutes. The resemblance to Dallas is uncanny, I'd like to think he's whispering to us through your film. Thank you, sincerely.
Dogs can't tell us how they feel with words. They tell us with their hearts. "Ollie" is a beautiful reminder to us all that dogs miss us just the same, if it's 15 minutes or 15 days that we've been gone. Cherish every minute with that special being who loves you with every breath they take. Thank you for sharing this touching movie with all of us. It brought more than one tear to my eyes for each and every dog who left my life too soon.
We know how animals are so linked to their human that they suffer when things change. Thank God the woman got better and they were reunited bringing joy to both once again!
This was a real tear jerker. Beautifully written and almost believably narrated by a beautiful loving golden Labrador dog named Ollie. The music blended beautifully with the story. I wonder if that was Jane’s friend or someone who ran a business sort of taking care of pets, keeping them caged all the time but at least fed. He sure didn't seem to like the animals. It was a nice touch at the end when he so smiled when he saw Ollie’s Jane’s joy and love at being reunited again.
Always, always, ALWAYS have a plan in place in case you end up in the hospital, or have to leave your animal alone. Don't take the chance that they might be left without any support or taken to a shelter. They depend on you. Don't let them down.
I was so afraid it would have a sad ending! My dog just died yesterday, and as much as I'm hurting right now, I couldn't imagine the fear and confusion for a pet whose person never returns. 😢 Great film. Thanks.
I just want to say I'm sorry, I have a 14 yr old sheltie I cry already .in my life I found the best way to heal that broken heart is giving your love to another pet.
Sorry for your loss. We lost our beloved cat to cancer during the summer of 2020. A few months later, my fellow volunteers found us a new rescue to give our home and love to. We will never forget our girl but opening your home and your heart to another helps the healing.
was PHENOMENAL!!! I literally broke down to tears! The way you portrayed the emotions of Ollie and the ultimate blow with the reunion and the "Fix You" song, got to me real hard and deep. Wish you all the success in Life. This video literally just Healed me. Thank you so much. This
Broke my heart, reminded me of my lovely dog Red who sadly died at the beginning of the year. Dogs are the best companion and should be treated respectfully and with love. What a touching and thought provoking film. Well done!
As a student currently taking classes in film - this is a wonderful example that students around the world can and should look up to. The pacing of the film is impeccable and the unique perspective really sets it apart. Excited to check out your other stuff.
Heartbreaking to think what goes through their minds.....when they are loved. I was so worried as I am alone and getting older but now at peace as I have found a wonderful home in case of need.❤
A film to wrench a dog lovers heart. It’s made me think how easily we could allow someone we don’t know well enough to look after our beloved animal in such times.
I LOVE THIS!!!! SHORT. SIMPLE. POWERFUL. AND PROFESSIONALLY DONE! This has the look and feel of a movie from Hollywood. Wow Sadiel you make me want to create!
What I especially love is that the man and woman in the house are doing their best to care for several animals whose owners are apparently ill even tho they obviously are not "animal people". I give THEM a lot of credit and love.💕💕 Don't judge others harshly when they are doing their best.
A true Good Samaritan would have given them freedom to roam around the garage and would have taken the two dogs out for walks and supplied a litter box for the cat.
Beautiful story from the loyal sweet dog’s pov. But it was more hurtful than necessary bc we didn’t get to see the man walk the dog any of the days. And the crate was too small for him to be in all day. I know I’m being nitpicky but we as viewers are supposed to know he’s lonely, sad, worried, confused and honestly bored at this guy’s house without his human mom. The song choice at the end made it even more sad though a happy moment. Thank you for sharing! ❤
I felt very upset about those crates and the co fine meant of all those three pets. I think it would have packed the same punch if they had been at least walked twice a day … and if they had been less confined. I would have been so upset if my friend had “helped” me with my dog by putting him in a tiny crate in a darkened room. I thought that part went overboard and I sure hope it’s not normal treatment for pets in other parts of the world. I’m in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. I do want to commend the filmmaker on how beautifully the film is shot and edited. The story is very sweet as well, and I like that it was voiced from the dog’s perspective. Yes it was very moving, but I found it to be equally disturbing, and in the end I wanted the girl to know her dog had been abused.
I know nothing of saying how great or such a film is, but my heart aches and rejoices. I did not hold back tears at the end. Thank you for allowing me to see this at no cost. I would not otherwise been able to see. I wish all abandoned animals I see on rescue shows could result in such as this. I now think perhaps many do find their loved ones or new loved ones again. Thank you!
Very touching. I think about what my dog is thinking pretty much all day, as I did when I had young children. At 58 years old, I walked away from a corporate managerial position so I could spend time with my aging dog. We do everything together, and I was the best decision I ever made. I know she appreciates it.
This movie was a flashback to the time I , my family and my dog had gone through. I was in the hospital for a whole month during COVID. My poor Bujo ( my dog ) was a pet boarding for a month. Poor Bujo , he must have thought that we had abandoned him.
I hope the second episode had her going back to that place and adopting the other dog and cat... poor things... Great job with the movie and showed a time humanity will never forget...
I cried😢 when the human went away. This film demonstrates the love between an animal companion and their person.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love this short film. Thank you.
Excellent! This short did everything a Oscar winner does. This short made me Laugh, Cry, be Curious & joyful . In my extended family the joke is when newlyweds bring a dog home that he is a starter baby. Meaning if they can raise a happy dog then they can raise a happy little human. Feed them, give them water, deal with poo both letting them go & cleaning it up,take them for health check ups, take them for exercise, have dedicated play time & most of all, give them love, kindness, compassion, patience, and temperance. Now they will be ready to welcome a baby into their home. This short is a reminder that our dogs have so much to offer us. They can draw out the same goodness out of us humans. Bravo Sadie Gomez and cast. Let me know if you’re going to be in the Austin Texas area (SXSW?) so I can shake your hand. If you decide to make your next film project within the central Texas area I would even love to volunteer/ support you in any way I can. This short should run on a loop in every pet shelter & veterinarians office and elementary school. Y’all should have received every award possible. ❤ & continued success.
It made me think what my dog might experience. I’m grateful I never got Covid but realize other illness or accidents could take me away. A reminder to plan for a pet’s care just in case. Thank you for a wonderfully done and touching film.
I have a sweet dog who was abused in his former life, and is slowly healing. He follows me everywhere - I have to be careful when I turn around in the kitchen, not to trip over him. Once I had to go out of town for a week, to take care of my dad. Bueno saw me get in the car with my suitcase and knew this was not just a grocery trip. He followed me down the road until the rest of my family called him back. When I got home at the end of the week, my house guest told me that Bueno had spent the whole week, day and night, lying beside my bed, where he sleeps when I'm home. ❤
My mom had four little dogs living with her before she was diagnosed with COVID. These pups kept her company, for she lived alone after my father passed away. They all slept with her in her room on the bed or by her bed in their little dog beds. I moved away from her in December 2020. I invited her to come be with me, but she wanted to stay and take care of those four little dogs because that's what her and my dad did. My mom died from COVID in February 2021. My brother stepped in and gave all four dogs a home with him because he didn't want them separated. Slowly they too have been passing away from old age. I pray they are once again reunited with my parents, and they are all sleeping together in the same room again.
THIS IS WHAT ART IS. This movie moved me to tears. The fear and uncertainty of COVID, but through a dog's eyes, really brought home the horror of what was done by the government to us. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS.
I love it, thanks for this beautiful movie. I lost my Dog one year ago after 15 years. I lost a brother, the biggest love of my life. I love you Matisse, forever.
This year we lost our best friend , Dante ( our golden retriever ) to a very aggressive cancer. We are mourning him, and miss him very much. Some people think that animals don't have feelings , but they give the most pure love and support that anyone can give. Sadiel, your short film is very touching as it focuses in the love an animal feels towards it's owner. Maybe your film can prevent that some people mistreat animals.
This is one of the best short films I've ever seen. When I saw the title, I was a bit hesitant to watch because it sounded very boastful. But, after watching it, it made complete sense of how this film garnered the filmmaker more attention at film festivals. Great work, Sadiel. You deserve much praise for this film. It was so heartwarming and made with love. Thanks for sharing it with us.
You made me cry Sadiel. Not only the dog is the best friend of all humans.. But also we humans are the best friend of dogs. There is so much in common with our pets, that we cannot live without them. When our ancestors left the nature and wild life, to live in cities, we have lost the friendship and vicinities of so many animals especially when they can became tamed animals and pets. We see in Ukraine, Israel, and all kind of catastrophic situation, when people are forced to leave, they always take their pets with them. They are our pets and we are their pets. I have lost my coonhound dog a year ago.. But while dreaming I am always in search of him. That is the way God wanted to follow. Thanks from Hector.
SO SPECIAL. Just hugged my dog. We are so lucky to have them. I used to work in Palliative care...we let patients have their dogs come in. It was such a beautiful time. Sad but beautiful. The dogs knew exactly what was happening.
I dont need a mobile phone, I dont need a laptop, I dont need internet, I dont need an expensive car, I dont need designer clothing I dont need to be famous or popular on social media, I just need food and love, dogs have a lot to teach us.
A beautiful Film, so glad so many film goers were able to see your great take on the perspective of all the confused animals who also had to go through their own journeys during the pandemic. It is a 10 out of 10 for me!
Thank you for the happy ending cause my heart wouldn´t have been able to take it. This hits home because I also had to leave my senior dog behind with my dad when COVID started and we were apart for about half a year. Iit really tough and I still remember the day that we were reunited. She passed a year later at 14 yrs old and I´m just glad that we were able to be together on her last year with me.

I'm a wedding film maker, This is truly exceptional! It shows you don't need the best gear or highest budget to create something truely special.....within 9 minutes. Well done! Also this makes me never want to put my dog in a kennel again haha
A good kennel will offer lots of playtime, exercise, enrichment, treats, etc. The dog will remember and be HAPPY to go there if it's a good place (I used to tell my dog a day or two before I had to drop her off that she was going to doggy camp soon, and she'd always get a little excited with a big smile, as well as happily greet the owner when we did get there, and go off with him with her tail wagging), and, of course, they will still also be very happy to see you again too.
Beautiful, Simple, Real. Imagine how the dog felt those days, imagine how much humans suffered. Today there is a second pandemic: Stress and Anxiety. Take care of yourself. Have some patience, all will be fine soon. Love you all! Thank you Sadiel!

6:15 I am moved and motivated to say that all animals must be sheltered in BIGGER boxes, where they can move a bit around or play themselves, and close to the natural trees or environment, where they can watch sky, grass, trees, and feel free to breathe, and dont feel captured or imprisoned.
My heart almost broke when the puppy was inside the carrier thinking it could be a sad ending & I fast forwarded it & paused. something made me watch the end, still I was thinking he might be escaping.
Evry night before we go to bed we whisper in her ears “ Mum and Dad love you the most”
So very sorry for your sad loss
@@diannegoode9010 thank you! It's been 8 months and I still think of him every single day...
Wow! Thank you so much for those words. I really appreciate it! 🙏🏼
I mean, there are a lot of films with similar concepts so it's not a first, but it's still a cute and sweet film nonetheless.
This is the best film about dog I ever seen in my life
😢👍🏻
❤
As a novice filmmaker and dog owner; this hits hard. This is beautiful!
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
This is great! As a novice dog owner and filmmaker; I was very pleased.
here too :) master!
❤From one dog lover to the next, so agree. Beautiful film of unconditional love
Dog gets girl. Dog loses girl................... Dog gets girl back again! Thank God.
and they lived happily ever after. God bless
😢
Dallas is the best dog ever! Always remember that.
Hold on to the love…forever.
My yellow lab, Haru looks so identical with the one in this film and I appreciate the film so much!🐾🐾🦮🦮🥰🥰
I’m sure he is 🌸
Dogs can't tell us how they feel with words.
The best films always make me cry. This made me cry. Thank you for reinforcing the importance of our family members with fur. ❤
Thank you! 🙏🏼
sooooo happy that the dog got his human back. I felt so sorry for him during his sad basement time. This feeling can only be shared with dog owners.
This was a real tear jerker. Beautifully written and almost believably narrated by a beautiful loving golden
Labrador dog named Ollie.
It's a movie !
At 72, it’s my worst fear! I take care of my health and home for my pets. Two dogs and two cats.
Very heartwarming and reality for many pets.
Arrange for someone to take them in case you are not able to.
We are their world. And they are the purest love we will ever know.
Great film.
@@arm_613 Thank you. I do already have 2 cats and a horse. It's just my first time dogless in over 49 years.
Abby, I'm so sorry about your own beloved pet just passed! It is such a painful time. Big hugs to you!!
So sorry for your loss.
You caught our friends being themselves. Any human w/ a dog totally and completely relates. Beautiful.
was PHENOMENAL!!! I literally broke down to tears! The way you portrayed the emotions of Ollie and the ultimate blow with the reunion and the "Fix You" song, got to me real hard and deep. Wish you all the success in Life. This video literally just Healed me. Thank you so much. This
Thank you so much! Nothing makes me happier than seeing my films have such a positive impact on other people. 🙏🏼🙂
I cried too. Such a beautiful film!
💔❤🩹
Broke my heart, reminded me of my lovely dog Red who sadly died at the beginning of the year. Dogs are the best companion and should be treated respectfully and with love. What a touching and thought provoking film. Well done!
Animals and dogs don't know security. They just trust and love. Loved the film.
I was scared at the end... then happy. Captures how animals just don't know why the one they love is suddenly gone. Really good storytelling.
As a student currently taking classes in film - this is a wonderful example that students around the world can and should look up to. The pacing of the film is impeccable and the unique perspective really sets it apart. Excited to check out your other stuff.
Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼
Somehow, I’m 9 minutes this managed to make me cry 😢. I didn’t expect this little film about a dog to touch me so. Wow.
Thank you! 🙂🙏🏼
I did.
The thought of how many people with pets had basically the same story 'without' the happy ending is chilling & extremely depressing.💔
This is the reason why i strive to be healthy. I wanna be able to take care of my dog until her last breath.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
@@vernonfrance2974 Yeah, I was wondering whether the dogs shit in the cage. This was too simplified in the film.
@@vernonfrance2974any person with some sense would have done that…
This was the dog's view!!!
They did NOT do their best. A few words to the animal....a few pats on the head....and not exercising the animal is akin to abuse.
So true. And it’s pure , selfless unadulterated love ❤️. With no expectations!
@@ZumbaShan yes, you expressed what I felt watching this too!
Thank you!
Frankly, I began to cry, the instant I saw his human waiting at the car!
What a sweet thought.
Yes, they didn’t show them getting scritches or walkies & that concerned me greatly.
This is a brilliant movie done by the creator and her dog, Charlie (in description). The cat is Kitty and the dog is Snickers.
I cried😢 when the human went away. This film demonstrates the love between an animal companion and their person.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love this short film. Thank you.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🙂

I have to be healthy and alive for them. I need to guide them through in this world. I always pray that i will be here for them all the way.
It made me think what my dog might experience. I’m grateful I never got Covid but realize other illness or accidents could take me away. A reminder to plan for a pet’s care just in case. Thank you for a wonderfully done and touching film.
A lovely little film about a dog’s needs from a dog’s perspective❤🐕 just adorable!
Thank you! 🙏🏼🙂
I love it! Had me crying at the end haha. Fantastic story. Congrats on all your festival success!
Thanks bud! It means a lot! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Lovely story. I love how the doggy was so perceptive and knew the lady who fed him was unhappy. Just like a dog!
A “bravo” exclamation and warm applause for you. A great touching peace of art❤
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
I'm a doggo mom of two yellow Labradors and I teared up for most of this film! Beautifully done!!
omg bawling my eyes out. Beautiful story. So glad Ollie got his Mom back. That is why we all need a plan in place for our pets.
Wow! Love this. So many pets lost their human(s) worldwide. I'm glad this one showed a happy ending. Congrats on your success! Well done.😊
On the verge of tears, I kept saying, "Jane, pls don't die, pls".
I love it, thanks for this beautiful movie. I lost my Dog one year ago after 15 years. I lost a brother, the biggest love of my life. I love you Matisse, forever.
The reunion of owners and pets makes me cry with joy!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
This has changed how I will see dogs for the rest of my life and I sincerely thankyou for that
Thank you so much! 🐶🙏🏼
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words. I really appreciate it! 🙏🏼
When we leave our dog at the vet’s dog hotel for 3 days. our dog ran to us just like the dog in the short. Very touching!
Yes, so true....❤
A beautiful Film, so glad so many film goers were able to see your great take on the perspective of all the confused animals who also had to go through their own journeys during the pandemic. It is a 10 out of 10 for me!
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
The DOG deserves an Oscar! - lovely film. Made me cry. So pleased it all ended well. Phew.
As a dog lover, this is pure love and innocence of the dog. Thank you for sharing this movie
Like the camera work and the following shot of the dog. BUT my favorite scene was the scene when the dog was getting picked up by the guy and it felt very professional and creative.
Thank you! I was the guy. Haha! 😎🙏🏼
As a dog trainer, This one got my tears flowing.
Love this short film. I can see why it was in 10 film festivals, great work.

I was so glad they reunited and happily ending. Lived through NYC Covid crisis, here, it was a painful reality for many. Love the dog and his sensitivity. Thank you for this story, life has its ups and downs and sadnesses. Animals are The Best, loving loyal and give a remarkably unconditional loving and closeness people do not provide.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
So glad it had a happy ending. The impact was made even still. Those of us who love our dogs like our own flesh and blood get it. Well done!
I’m out of words- The way that you made such an engaging story that made me feel so invested in what was going on just shows how good of a storyteller you are. Even as a student, you really did pull it off. Props to you and your team! I’m glad it got into film festivals, this deserves to be seen by many! I'm a wedding film maker, This is truly exceptional! It shows you don't need the best gear or highest budget to create something truely special.....within 9 minutes. Well done! Also this makes me never want to put my dog in a kennel again haha
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🙂

Loved it, a beautiful and emotional film. The context brought to my mind a lot of sad memories and the feeling of loneliness that we all experienced a few time ago. To see and to hear these emotions from the perspective of Ollie, this cute and wonderful dog, was really incredible ❤

6:15 I am moved and motivated to say that all animals must be sheltered in BIGGER boxes, where they can move a bit around or play themselves, and close to the natural trees or environment, where they can watch sky, grass, trees, and feel free to breathe, and dont feel captured or imprisoned.
A simple story told beautifully 👌
Thank you! 🙏🏼🙂
Brought tears to my eyes.
My heart almost broke when the puppy was inside the carrier thinking it could be a sad ending & I fast forwarded it & paused. something made me watch the end, still I was thinking he might be escaping. The moment I saw the lady, I cried feeling overwhelmed. I have pets at home & they're my everything. My day starts & ends with them. They have helped me live each day by giving me so much hope, love abundantly. Beautiful film. I always pray that no pets shouldn't be deserted.
