This is the second of your films that I’ve seen; both with the dog. I’ve rarely seen such a talented movie star. You were pretty good too.
Excellent storyline and cinematography in both films (the other was the Covid film). You have chosen your career path well and are quite talented. I hope a big studio will notice you so we can get better quality in Hollywood (if that’s your goal).

I am sure you pay him generous royalties for his performances.I read your comment that it was sometimes a challenge to get him to do what you wanted…but I thought it was flawless. I am a veteran cat mom and the thought of trying to get any kind of acting out of my fur babies is unimaginable. I love Charlie…I hope you don’t live close by…or I might have to kidnap him.

i didnt know where it was going, so at first when i saw the knife, i thought,'Oh no! he's starving, and he's going to eat the dog!!!" much relief when i saw the onions! LOL
i recently was blessed with TWO [fast- growing] puppies! they are 5 months old today, and i think they would say "food is love".
This made me laugh so hard!🤣

This is so hilarious and genius and great filming/dog training/acting. great idea and love how instead of just being relieved at the end it inspired him to share with his grateful and respectful dog, not just let him stare while he eats the whole time. now he knows how the dog feels! its not just a basic flim, which it could have been, but it has a creative and fun beginning and end. with both this and "ollie" you found a way to make a satisfying and surprising ending.

I have the same realisation. I'll be mid-pee and suddenly realise my food is vulnerable to consumption by my dog! What to do? Finish peeing, risk the food being gone ("What kind of food is it? If it's white rice, I'm OK, he doesn't like white rice, but if it's tuna sushi, I'd better run!"), or take flight, trying to pull my pants up, and enter my room only to see my little boy laying down on the bed, head just lifted because of my commotion, food untouched, him looking sleepy, confused and momentarily baffled. (Most of the time, when it's gone, you only realise after you start to get hungry and remember how you made a sandwich an hour ago... Why are their crumbs, white hairs and little wet smodges on my desk top?).

How did the dog cooperate for so long??
That's always a challenge. My dog loves food, so as long as I hold a treat while I'm filming and then give it to him after the shot is done, he usually stays quiet for a few seconds. So I just have to be ready at the right moment to capture those few seconds. 🙂
