The Karate Kid FILMING LOCATIONS Then and Now
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 лют 2021
- In this video you will see some of the movie locations used for the 1984 coming-of-age classic. Starting with the apartment building Daniel and his mother move to in Reseda, Ca. This is also where Mr Miyagi had his office and saved his soon to be student from the Cobra Kai. Leo Carrillo Beach will be on display, where the beach bbq and first fight over Ali took place. The school will be up next, a place seen multiple times throughout the film. Then the Mills House located in Encino, Ca will be seen. I didn't get to all the locations for this one but I couldn't miss Golf N' Stuff, where they have their first date. The dojo will be seen briefly as well. This tour will wrap up with the All Valley Under 18 Tournament location, at Cal State University, Northridge. Stay tuned to the end of this video for a scene from The Karate Kid Part 2. I plan on making a complete video for the 40th Anniversary in 2024. Enjoy

The footage in this video is now over a year old, and was not filmed with my 4K camera. I tried to salvage it the best I could to make it a good viewing experience. I plan on doing a complete tour in the future.
This is great, man, no worries. Best Karate Kid location video ever.
@@jd0604 Good point lol.. Thanks a lot
@@ksavage681 Greatly appreciated!
Bro who gives a damn what u filmed this footage on or when u did. For a Karate Kid Junkie like me this is AMAZING!!!!! #salute
@@davonjackson240 Thanks a lot!
That was one of the best KK filming location documentaries I’ve ever seen. The double shot moments were extraordinary and well done.
Thanks a lot, greatly appreciated.
Just came here to say the same thing! Awesome! You managed to “line up” each shot at just about the same exact angle! How did you do that? Must have been difficult! Thanks for posting this!
Brilliant. Growing up in Scotland, California looked like a different planet. Seeing the locations now brings on nostalgia tingles.
I can imagine... I’m sure I’ll get to your homeland one day. I’ve heard it’s a sight to see. Glad it brought back those good feelings bud, thanks a lot!
I remember watching back in the day "two movies for the price of one" ...The Karate Kid and Back to the Future. U're my hero for tonight bringing back some great 80's memories.
Haha I’m flattered. .. You brought it back for me with that two for one as well. Glad this took you back to the ...past lol. Btw My two favorite movies. Thanks a lot!
Great work I always wanted to go and do a location video for karate kid I went there a long time ago when the field was still empty good job
Thanks a lot German.. I was also there when it was still the empty field lol, shocker. I love it
I rewatched the whole trilogy before I just started binge watching Cobra Kai and I LOVE it! I was 13 when The Karate Kid came out and I’m blown away at the depth of the fan-love. This video is amazing!!! Thank you for posting this! Looking forward to more like this. Fan from Toronto, Canada
I’m a big fan of Cobra Kai myself! I binged shortly after shooting these locations. So cool... Glad you enjoyed the video. I really appreciate it!!
You’re welcome! I haven’t been to an LA-area beach since.......1985. I can’t believe the film is almost 40 😩. Carillo Beach coast looks beautiful and knowing that’s where 2 of the most important scenes were filmed, I hope to visit there too when we can travel again. ..I don’t blame you for not wanting to leave! God I hope they find a way to feature it again on Cobra Kai ❤️
I’ve seen other Karate Kid filming location videos and yours is empty hands down the best! The angles and attention to detail took us right inside the movie. Stellar work man!
Wow! Thanks a lot for that awesome compliment, and I see what you did there with “empty hands”... Nicely done!!
Great job, how nostalgic. Karate Kid marked our childhood. Thanks from Argentina
Aguanta karate kid y el rojo jaja terrible laburo hizo. saludos
The high school literally looks like it’s been in frozen in time... Wow.
It is pretty amazing.
This movie never gets old.
Great work, Nick!
Agreed.
Thanks!
The best filming locations on UA-cam. So detailed, the way you layer the movie clips with the current location. It makes it so easy to see it
Many thanks!!!
You got the best videos around, they won't keep your subscribers down 😉
Hahaha Thanks a lot!
Always welcome lol 🙂
As I’m sitting here literally wearing my MR. Miyagi tee shirt, I’m in awe over this one! You nailed it from start to finish. I’m blown away that you found his locker half way thru! Still the same dang color and all! What a moment my friend! All I gotta say is “Your the best around” 🎶🎤.... Stay well, stay cool 😎
Thanks a lot my classy friend! I’ve been so busy but I got some news for you. I’m currently at the woods hole terminal in Massachusetts. Waiting to take the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. I can’t wait 🦈
@@NickP absolutely beautiful area your going too. My friend, you enjoy yourself fully... Cheers 🥂
@@MickeyNixonFilms Thanks again my dude, greatly appreciated!!

Thanks a lot my friends!! I'm happy to hear you are enjoying them!! Please do the same!
Yes, indeed, its such an awesome film. Whenever I feel isolated, I rewatch this movie and just makes me feel happy at the end. This is a classic movie that everybody should watch. I've seen this movie countless times and just never gets old.
If you can make a sequel to "Karate Kid Part II" in Hawaii, then your a Legend.
Haha thanks a lot! I’ll get there one day.
i love filming locations
Best one I’ve seen! Absolutely awesome detailed video of my favourite ever movie
I’m a sucker for 80s nostalgia. Great video!! Amazing work!
Same here lol.. thanks a lot!
Dude this is probably one of the best on location footage I have seen man. I love how you compared the movie to today in top/bottom pictures etc., very very good. I am seriously impressed and tyvm for putting this out there so we can watch this. Thumbs up all day.
That’s great to hear, thanks a lot!
That was perfect. Makes the hair on your back stand. I was in highschool when this was on the big screen. 80's definitely rocked. Awesome job! Funny the word "Awesome" is from.the 80's, still used today...lol
Hey, thanks a lot for the awesome feedback! The 80s were very special... And that is awesome lol.....Totally!...LOL
@@NickP Totally Dude!!
@@GucciGambino1967 LOL
Always get chills at the Crane kick!😊🤘
Likewise! From when Pat Johnson says ready… chills!!
@@NickP Absolutely!💯
Wow alot of stuff stil around structure wise but change into something else with age of course lockers still even thier wow and the arcade place such 80s style memories here nice bonus feature so to speak at the end here of part 2
Thanks a lot Nathan!
This is brilliant! Thank you!
very detailed thanks for doing this for all the fans!
This was terrific. The 5th Cobra Kai is Jimmy, and he does have a line in the film, but it’s said pretty much off camera in the intro scene of them on their bikes just before they ride down to the beach and approach Ali and Daniel. He says - “I thought they broke up.”
Thanks a lot Matt!
perfect sharing, I got back to my childhood. Everything is almost the same and this is incredibly beautiful. Loves from Turkey
Thanks a lot!!

Really amazing video Nick - really appreciate all the effort to line up the shots. Always seemed like a world away watching this in the 80's here in the UK Something a little bit sad how places change over time.
Thanks a lot! Yes, it can be a little bitter sweet at times.
