Some people might not agree with using science and/or chemicals when it comes to maintaining and improving a pond, but the simple reality is that, if left unchecked, a shallow pond will become overgrown and consumed by out of control vegetation and weeds that will ultimately destroy the pond ecosystem itself. So, like everything else, if used in moderation, modern science can and WILL improve pond life, fish quality, wildlife quality and longevity of a man made farm pond or private rural pond. Jeff will cover everything that he does in today's episode while he does a full pond treament to help us to maintain control over our 2 Southern Illinois farm ponds and to improve the fish quality overall. If we do not keep these ponds under control they will get overrun with pond weeds and aqautic vegetation that will ultimately ruin our ponds. Never got to see the trolling motor go thru the canal grand opening . Bet it’s already packed still in garage Kapper. That canal dig, was epic, enjoying these. Never got the ribbon cutting.
My adopted mom put little catfish in the mid nineties. Her deck goes out over pond and has a big barrel of catfish food she feed them all these years, their huge, not getting any bigger now, but still churn the water. She told me time to dye lake, I thought she was kidding, makes it beautiful. Enjoy Sharon and Joe, days are numbered there. ❤

Just a reminder to get around to repairing the erosion below the pond spillway before leaving for Missouri. Hate to invest all that money and time in the pond management and have heavy rains eventually cause a WASHOUT!!!!

Very informative video. My pond got infested with snapping turtles. I need to figure out how to get rid of them. I think they already ate all my fish.
