    Just a tip, never go to a second location with your killer, they’re just going to kill at that second location anyway since they’re taking you to somewhere where they are comfortable and familiar with. The chances of you surviving drop significantly. Fight for survival on the spot, you have the greatest chance of surviving, if you do end up dying on the spot at least the probability of your killer getting caught go up meaning you’ve saved more people from getting killed.

Let alone the sheer physical distance between crimes. He subverted many of the expected tendencies of serial killers, and we're lucky he was caught by chance by a traffic stop. If he had made it home and traded in his car, he likely never would have been tied to the crimes.

      There are murderers who have the capacity for empathy. There are murderers who have an excessively high level of empathy. People need to shut up about a cognitive process that varies from person to person, has multiple different types, and doesn’t increase or decrease your ability to care about people. Empathy is simply reflecting emotion - ‘I feel how you feel’. It does not prevent ‘I don’t understand how you feel, but I’ll support you anyway’. And plenty of people who do feel empathy do horrific shit anyway - by dehumanizing victims, by rationalizing away their actions as reasonable or necessary. Any means needed. Empathy has nothing to do with murder.

    • @simonabaroso5248
      @simonabaroso5248 5 років тому +10

      Ellis Lupin Of course there are murderers that have the capacity for empathy, it gives all kinds of people in all kinds of categories. It depends on the circumstances and reason for the murder. Serial killers don’t though, you can’t be a serial killer and have a conscious or empathy, they might be able to assess how somebody feels, practically seen, however they don’t empathize.

      @Risingofthephoenix Рік тому +1

      It actually seems as though many detectives actually enjoy this deep down inside but don’t want to admit it cause its taboo otherwise most people wouldn’t be in this job. Those of us with large amounts of empathy would not do this line of work as we would continuously run into “compassion fatigue” get weighted down by their emotions feel depressed and even commit suicide and falling into any one of those doesn’t make you “weak” or any less strong because they displayed these kinds of emotions in fact its quite the contrary it takes strength to have empathy and to feel one another's pain and suffering. So that’s why I think many detectives/fbi/crime scene investigators/morgue/crime scene cleaners have got to enjoy this the morbid the evil the dead the suffering playing cat and mouse its like playing a game with these evil criminals getting a thrill off of solving the case being the first one to “crack the case wide open” so they can have their spotlight in the news.

    Some other points Mike left out: He drew 11 skulls and a picture of Baphomet on his cell walls in his own blood. He denounced his Christian faith and went further into Satanism with people saying he developed an "inordinate fascination" with it. He further spoke of his desires to do ritualistic satanic killings. These points make it even more chilling and need to be included either way.

    Someone who lives in Alaska here... there were a couple of spots around the state that alot of people were getting killed at. Mostly homeless people at night in parks or on trails around the Anchorage/Wasilla area. I know the police say they don't think it was him because it "wasn't his thing" but the murders stopped when he was arrested.... these people were just shot in the face and left there. So I get how it doesn't look like him. But again.... they stopped happening after he was arrested and were happening for quite a while before that. Just a rumor that floats around here and people who think they had seen or come across this mysterious person years before what happened to Sam described them to have a similar build and gate as him.
    Also I went to high school with sam and I just want to say thank you for getting her last name right.... I know it seems silly but when people talk about her it's like she was just a piece of that inhuman shitpiles life story. People don't realize she had a life... she had friends and a family. Both in the top 98-99 percentile of intelligence in the entire world and both some of the most successful serial killers in the United States, maybe even the whole world. It is much harder to catch a guy who is calculated for all risk and is constantly on the move and quite frankly just killing to kill. Most people murder with a motive and that’s what, in some cases, help the feds catch them. Sadly he was able to use his wits to prey on the innocent due to his sick and twisted mind.

    I met Israel Keyes back in December 2011. He was doing interior work on my neighbors home in east Anchorage -Muldoon. I didn’t notice anything off about him, he was a little shy I guess, but I remember thinking his truck was odd looking, with those green tool boxes running the length of the bed, and the ‘licensed bonded’ on the side.
    And then right around the time he was captured two police officers knocked on my door and inquired about the neighbor, who had since been transferred to South Korea (USAF). They looked around his backyard, took a peek inside his shed, and left.
    When I saw that truck on the news a few days later I about fell out of my chair.
