Soundgarden - Non-State Actor Video by Josh Graham - Suspended In Light -- -- -- www.soundgardenworld.com / soundgarden / soundgarden / soundgardenvevo
I agree along with AIC for me its SG,AIC,PJ and nirvana and sometimes its nirvana over PJ but man during that time nirvana was bad ass but seemed like they where also the britney spears of grunge even though britney spears wasnt out yet lol.
I loved it. Not that I ever wanted it to be THE END, but this is a good musical recording to hold up as the last. Should have recieved more media accolades, lol. What a silly thing to think/ say? I realized after I typed it. Great music exists outside of the "filter". Thanks Soundgarden.
This whole album is one of the most underrated rock albums of the last 2 decades. Kicks so much ass, and love the way Adam Kasper and Joe Barresi produced it. Soundgarden were great until their very last beat. One of those bands who NEVER put out a “bad” album.
Thanks to your comment I will take time to listen it. I was listening the first albums again few months ago, and they blow me away. Great band, legendary
They were one of the great bands that came out during the grunge era 1992 it's a shame that others won't recognize either for the talent they're singing they were great band😅
Got to agree on this one. Ben is the reason that the first guitar I ever picked up was a p bass. Mad musicianship and songwriting skills. So miss this band. One of my favorite bands of all time, and a huge influence in my life.
Def bigger than the sum of their parts. Sg could’ve easily have been “Chris Cornell and soundgarden”, but they were a cohesive band in a league of their own in many ways. Bens work on drawing flies, overfloater, and fresh tendrils still blows me away.
Coin in every pocket More mouths to fill So weak in the land Strong in the will (need) I'll be your beast of burden I'll be the seed I bring you the healer Feel your disease I bring dirty water And make it clean (young) And you are the cure I am the drug And we settle for A little bit more than everything We're not elected, but we will speak We're not the chosen, but we believe And we settle for a little bit more than everything Bullets, guns and missiles A stone and a sling A motherless country Of thee I sing (song) You are the tank and rockets I am the bomb I teach you a lesson Sword for a pen Reading turn the pages A history of man (look) You are tabula rasa I am the book And we settle for a little bit more than everything We're not elected, but we will speak We're not the chosen, but we believe And we settle for A little bit more than everything I'm a non-state actor I'm a non-state actor I'm a non-state I'm a non-state actor And we settle for a little bit more than everything We're not elected but we will speak We're not the chosen but we believe And we settle for a little bit more than everything A little bit more A little bit more A little bit more
The Fallen are Smiling Thanks SoundGarden You all have always been in my top favs! This is just another Great Rock song in the Future Box Set!! Love it BE BLESSED EVERYONE!!
The album that got things back to business, as if they had never broke up. Down on the Upside was their most unique turn of events, love that album. Years later we can reflect back to this album just as much. SG was always moving in different directions. Been a fan since they released Badmotorfinger. One of my fav albums was Louder than Love. Soundgarden has always been prolific. The solo album made by Matt Cameron was a great example of musicianship and 1/4 of the band outshined.
I saw him 6 times, 3 solo (include Euphoria Mourning), 2 times with SG and once with Temple of the Dog… Sorry to tell you but you missed out… One of the highlights was seen him do a note perfect version of Beyond the wheel and an acoustic version of “Outshined”
Couldn't listen to Soundgarden after his passing. Because it was so great and saddened by the fact I wouldnt ever hear him belt out the most powerful lyrics I ever heard. Some say grunge but I think they were the tightest rock group that will stand the test of time. My son asked me recently what music influenced me growing up and I went through every genre through the 80's and 90's but gave him badmotorfinger and said nothing. Just listen mate. I don't think he's ever going to change that cd in his room. Turn up it I say.
SoundGarden is one of those bands that with RARELY exceptions ALL the members are top level musicians, just like the Beatles or PinkFloyd, where all the members were talented and multifaceted. The bassist (Ben Shepherd) is a monster, the drummer (Matt Cameron) is a killer, the guitarist (Kim Thayil) is breathtaking in the tuning and complexity of the riffs, and Cornell sings like a God of Olympus, as well as playing very well, it's a band that has everything in terms of music, composition, chords, sonority, it's like a classical music show where the Maestro is rock n roll.
Soundgarden always kicked ass how could they not they had one of the greatest vocalist, one of best guitarist, and one of the best drummer's and bass players?
In due time I believe. Between unreleased/uncirculated pre Screaming Life 4 track demos, to live vault releases to the possible release of the final SG album🙏🏻
Chris Cornell is immortal. His musical brilliance lives on forever.
Yes.
Truly. Both. ❤
Best comment
Agreed.. top band of the time.
Too bad he got lost in his depression he would have made atleast 4 or 5 more albums, SELFISH to leave his kids and fans
Many will say nirvana or Pearl Jam, but these guys were the best to come out of the grunge era, the talent, the musicianship was legendary
AiC says: hold my beer
@@Embarrassed4U thats subjetive..
They all had their bright moments. I had the pleasure of meeting Kim once. Very cool guy.
Useless hierarchical judgment

this is such an underrated album in the rock world, its a fucking masterpiece and so fitting as their final album
Such a great album, start to finish.

It’s my fave too. Incredible songwriting and performances.
A thousand years definitely my favorite
I love Soundgarden but this is definitely their weakest album
Matt Cameron one of the Best drummers ever.
In Soundgarden, yes, in Pearl Jam…. nah
LOL!
@@SG-nd9bf in pearl jam as well
John Bonham, Neil Peart, Bill Ward, Vinnie Paul, Shannon Larkin I could go on but everyone has their personal favorites!
@@Faks.09 you must be thinking of Dave Abbruzzese 😉

Totally agree
Thanks to your comment I will take time to listen it. I was listening the first albums again few months ago, and they blow me away. Great band, legendary
isn't it something how every album was like a fine tuned guitar? Always blows me away, and who can forget songs from Louder than Love?
They were one of the great bands that came out during the grunge era 1992 it's a shame that others won't recognize either for the talent they're singing they were great band😅
Ben Sheppard is a genius like all 3 members. He wrote this song. Long live the Gardens of the Sound.
Ben is sg’s secret weapon. Brilliant bassist
He’s Soundgarden’s John Paul Jones
Thayil and (little help from) Cornell wrote the lyrics. They are all amazing - so much more than the sum of their parts.
Got to agree on this one. Ben is the reason that the first guitar I ever picked up was a p bass. Mad musicianship and songwriting skills.
So miss this band. One of my favorite bands of all time, and a huge influence in my life.

Soundgarden writes the most badass fucking riffs istg
It's true
RIP Chris Cornell,
Such a terrible loss to this world.
But such a positive souls' impact. I am happy to have heard him, and long to hear him once more... X
@@clivewells7090 , I absolutely agree.
I totaly agree
What would you do if I told you he'll be back in less than 2 years? They will all be back soon shortly after.
@@infinitinifni7057 are you saying he faked his death
For me the best band, ever
Right next to AIC
Coin in every pocket
More mouths to fill
So weak in the land
Strong in the will (need)
I'll be your beast of burden
I'll be the seed
I bring you the healer
Feel your disease
I bring dirty water
And make it clean (young)
And you are the cure
I am the drug
And we settle for
A little bit more than everything
We're not elected, but we will speak
We're not the chosen, but we believe
And we settle for a little bit more than everything
Bullets, guns and missiles
A stone and a sling
A motherless country
Of thee I sing (song)
You are the tank and rockets
I am the bomb
I teach you a lesson
Sword for a pen
Reading turn the pages
A history of man (look)
You are tabula rasa
I am the book
And we settle for a little bit more than everything
We're not elected, but we will speak
We're not the chosen, but we believe
And we settle for
A little bit more than everything
I'm a non-state actor
I'm a non-state actor
I'm a non-state
I'm a non-state actor
And we settle for a little bit more than everything
We're not elected but we will speak
We're not the chosen but we believe
And we settle for a little bit more than everything
A little bit more
A little bit more

Deep deep lyrics. MISS YOU CHRIS.
@Neil This was my main go to song while deployed to Afghanistan.
The 12 people who disliked this need to have their hearts spoon fed to them...
if they had hearts they would never have disliked this out of simple respect if not anything else
They can, are able to and allowed to, if you prefer...
@@jnb756 Respect has nothing to do with musical tastes

Seems incredibly relevant in our current times.
I always thought that with blow up the outside world.
True masterpieces are timeless. As relevant of our past, & relevant to the present & forever future.
Soundgarden need to be inducted in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame

Awesome song. I love Soundgarden and Audioslave so much
Absolutely rocks!
Love Soundgarden from the first.
If you played it like 20 times, then you can really start to feel that breakdown and play along pretty well
That's exactly what I did one day a few months ago. I spent like all day trying to get it down.
We need more rock in these times you know?
