Hello, Joe! Thank you so much for what you're doing! I wanted to ask whether you check statements for graduate course. If you do, how can I reach out to you for reviewing? I have mine written and rewritten more than a few times, but with applying for Oxford comes with doubts and some anxiety, so I really need an outside and honest perspective.
hey joe, I am an indian student and need some major counselling for my personal statement, please drop a way i can connect to you, it would be the biggest blessing.
Do you have any advice on cutting characters? I’ve written two economics sections, extra curricular and conclusion, planning on intro and two more econ sections and at This rate my finished one will be like 5500 characters 😂
5500 characters is absolutely fine to cut down from! Honestly there's no secrets: you just have to take several passes and cut non-essential words and phrases. As I said in the video, it's okay to jump around a bit in the personal statement, don't worry about being super fluid.
@@constantinoplepasha5332 no I was rejected pre interview, most likely because I didn’t do well enough in the TSA. I’d known that timing was tight, but time disappeared when I did mine 😂
Hi I just came across this video and this has really helped my application on how to structure and write my personal statement. I was wondering if I was able to send my Economics personal statement into you so I could get corrections ?
Thanks this was really helpful. Currently in the process of writing mine. I am looking for a book to read that contrasts the idea of free and open trade. Therefore, what books would you suggest that argue for protectionist policies, ideally the book would be old as I haven’t read a historic economic text yet. It’s just I’ve been unable to find one that meets this criteria.
Hi, Can I send a letter to the admission officer of a specific college of Oxford University even though it's not a personal statement but just a letter where I explain why I want to do PPE ?
Hey Joe, thanks for the video! Quick questions, I had re-written several ‘first’ paragraphs based on development and behavioural economics but I am not really sure about how to just write something, is there any advice I could receive from you and also is behavioural development economics actually a real field (I saw it online but I don’t know if I can fully trust the websites)?
Hey! Behavioural economics and Development economics are definitely 'real' standalone fields. Merging the two is definitely interesting and valid, but there'll understandably be fewer people at the intersection of the two
Should I still apply to Oxford Economics and Management without further maths?. I do economics, maths , psychology at a level and a finance course that's worth half an A level?
I'd actually recommend a fair chunk be allocated to the management section. It can be up to 70% of the degree and needs to have its fair share of character count. 2:1 ratio of Econ: Management would be fine I think.
Hi Joe! Thanks for making this video. May I ask about the format of the personal statement? Like font, size, margins, single or double space, etc? Thank you in advance!!!
Hi Oliver - you don't have to worry about any of that as I believe when you submit to UCAS you copy paste into a text box. The only limit is the 4000 character count
this is the first personal statement video that gives actually useful advice. thank you!
Thank you so much for this! I'm writing mine currently but I'm just so unsure how to structure it. This really helped me!
Glad it helps! Best of luck
I am a fan,currently writing a personal statement for college,learn’t a lot from you👏👏

Thank you! I’ve just found your channel and it’s been so helpful.

You can submit them at different times, provided they're both before the deadline!
I need a sop about the political science
Do I need to add an appreciation text at the end of my personal statement
hey, do you still review personal statements?
Hi! I’m applying for a science based degree, but am an Oxford aspirant? Would it still be suitable for you to review my personal statement?
Yes! I've got a few contacts that I can forward you on to.

Hi Nicole, yes it is!
@@JoeMead hi Joe, okay thank you! also thank you for making this video because my PS sounds way better now I have used your advice!
Please answer me, is it necessary to pass the mathematics exam for the master's degree?
What would you suggest differenlty for a PPE essay
How to Apply For Undergraduate scholarships?
Hello, do you think you could read my current personal statement draft?
Ive heard that oxbridge don't actually read your personal statement and they rely on the admission tests. Is this true?
Admission tests are a (much) more important component of the application, but personal statements often come up in the interview at Oxbridge!
funnily enough one of my tutors who I did the interview with admitted she did not actually read it
Thank You so much !

Hello, did you get in if you don’t mind me asking?
Should I still apply to Oxford Economics and Management without further maths?. I do economics, maths , psychology at a level and a finance course that's worth half an A level?
It definitely helps but unlike Cambridge, they aren’t very strict on it. But make sure to secure an A* in maths!
so a small paragraph about management is enough? something short and concise?
I'd actually recommend a fair chunk be allocated to the management section. It can be up to 70% of the degree and needs to have its fair share of character count. 2:1 ratio of Econ: Management would be fine I think.
Great Content.
