I own the A7C and the A7RV and while the RV is and incredible camera I enjoy shooting with the A7C much more and at the end of the day that is what matters.
I will Upgrade from my a6000. I will start with the nice APSC lenses that I have. 14,5 MP in Crop Mode is fine anyway for me. AF and Stabilization are what I want.
I just purchased an A7C last week, and am excitedly waiting for it to arrive! I am upgrading from my well loved starter camera, the A6000. I was atracted to the small body and the old menu system. Here me out- I have small hands, and my a6000 was amazingly easy for me to hold. Additionaly, although the old menue is a bit clunky- I am used to it! So not having to learn a new menue is going to be great and make using my old camera as a second shooter even easier. I Also had to give this one a go becaus eof the price- I would have loved to wait untill the A7CII hit the market so that the A7C could come down a bit more in price, but I am in a rut with my old gear and realllyyyy needed to upgrade now rather than later. This was a decent price for getting me out of APSC into FF considering I also needed to puchase a lense.

I excitedly unboxed it yesterday to take some test shots and was absolutly blown away with the quality difference from my old A6000, I was expecting the photos to be better, but not THIS MUCH BETTER. I am actualy really excited to try out the auto mode. I couldnt trust my A6000 with it-everything would come out grainy becuase it would shoot the ISO to high, so I had to use the manual mode. I almost cried tears of joy when I poped my test shots into LR. My only qualm so far? the articulating screen is going to take some getting used to compaired to my old tilt screen. Definatly subscribing or more content as I get to know my new best freind, the A7C!

I value convenience a lot, and this is the most versatile and convenient camera out there, considering how much it costs. I purchased one a month ago brand new upgrading from a sony a6000. It's not about the camera, it's about the person behind the camera, you can do amazing work with any camera if you give yourself the oportunity.
I shoot my A7C more than my A7RV, would love to have a newer version A7C if it has A7RV type of screen. AI autofocus be great but not absolutely necessary for me. Carry two A7C for travel is not only smaller, lighter but also attract less attention. Don’t care about video, that my Insta360’s job. A6700 looks pretty good but full frame still has the advantage of better depth of field.
I bought a7c during the 2021 lockdown. And since that it has become my primary camera for my real estate work. I still have my a7iii but it is mostly stays in my camera bag. That said when the mkii release I am going to either get the mkii or the R version.
I had actually already upgraded when I traded my A7C for a A7IV because I’m primarily a still shooter. That said a rebought another A7C for the smaller size so now I have both. Depending on what the A7C II is I may upgrade eventually but only if the A7C II has 33 Mpixels, improved IBIS, Autofocus (with AI), etc. we will see. Of course my price was not quite as hoot as yours but it was almost brand new.
it really looks like it will have all that. getting the AF stuff like the a6700 and also the 33MP sensor of the A7IV. so how do you feel about upgrading currently?
I have two 7c and I work at National tv for outdoor work, gimbal slider and a lot of travels Two years they work every day almost full time and 2023 full 4K I have 7 lenses 3 of them primes I dint have any problem at all and they don’t make any issue at all For me work horses I have also A7RII for backup camera with no problem at all according the release 2015 and fix the no time limit
I chose the A7 III for its numerous controls and dials. The AF is pretty usable even in 2023. It makes for a great combo along with the Tamron 28-75 G2 Not to mention the Flip Up screen.
A7III still a great camera. The only caviar is the 30 minute limitation. But not a big deal to hit record again. That’s how I shot into the last. We get spoiled fast.

This camera is solid for both photo & video! I’ve gone through several cameras & brands over the last couple of years, but I always seem to want this type of camera. Convenient, portable and great image quality. Definitely still worth buying in 2023!!
I could tell the difference between the cameraa photos in all cases. But the A7C is still the camera I'd recommend. It's the different between good and more good. If you are capturing compelling images, it won't matter either way. And the dynamic range is great in all cases.
Understand why you jumped on this. But for me, not having a front dial and that evf were deal-breakers for me. So I'm sitting tight and hoping they address these.
Go with what suits you man. That’s the best you can do. I personally got used to not having the front dial specially since I’ve been shooting with lenses with aperture rings.

i just ordered an A7C and realized that the mark ii is probably coming up in 3 months. Trying to cancel this order. I really hope mark ii is within my budget. Or mark i will be greatly discounted after mark ii is announced.
No one knows exactly when the A7CII will be out. But I will try to get my hands on a used Sony A7IV instead if you want video and great photos plus more rest and still great low light performance
A7C is so uncomfortable to hold especially with bigger lens. The grip is so small, if you put a bigger lens on it the gap between the grip and a lens is so small, your fingers might not be able to fit in between the grip and the lens... There is no dedicated button to zoom in, so you cant really use the camera with manual focus lenses. You have to assign the zoom option to one of the custumizable buttons, and the only button that would fit the need is the AF lock in button, which is actually not that comfortable to use as a zoom button. So manual lens shooters forget this camera and go for A7III instead.

Don’t Google them. Go to the different market places. Mine was in mint condition and bought it from a seller with tons of reviews and transaction history. Don’t buy from people with no feedback or from new accounts though.
It would be so awesome If there were a a7 c II with 24 MP vor Hybrid and Something Like a a7 rc with the Same size, but 33 MP but more fore taking Photos but casual Video recording for private use ore shorter Videotime ore maybe with a crop. I would Go for that because i Love taking Photos and dont need it for Videos.
in terms of photograhy no big difference... but in terms of video... cmon - 10 bit video, catalyst browse stab etc + h265 codec (havc hs) its a huge difference
My perfect camera would be something like a9iii: 24mpx, body like and speed of a1, screen and AF of the a7rv, ISO similar to a7siii, 4k 120fps 10 bit 4:10:10
Yoo, I was just about to make a video on this! I was mulling over the ZV-E1, but was undecided. I'm a photographer first but wanted something light to vlog with for my main channel besides the big full frames. I tested out the A7c three days ago and thought it was absolutely perfect. Wait for the mark II? What do you think?
I’m gonna get it when it comes out if it doesn’t over heat. I’m planning to keep my two A7C mark one anyway i can also always repurpose it for 2nd angle or over head camera.
To be honest the A7C for the price is great. Or the A7IV if you are into video and editing color a lot. Otherwise the A7C may be good enough for photo and all the video social media needs.
I'm calling BS, I've been looking at a7C's for a year and I haven't seen any used ones for under $1200/1300. (Granted, I haven't been looking every day.)
I got it from a local photographer on OfferUp. You won’t find those prices on eBay where people pay insane fees, not on photography sites as they want that big profit. Try OfferUp and make an Offer. I brought SD card and lens before buying and we met at Starbucks. Something that I cannot do when I shop on eBay.
@@charmerci Gotcha. You may find someone a few minutes or hour drive from you. I'm in Miami so wasn't too hard to find someone wanting to part ways with one. Guy wanted 1200 I had less than 1K to spend, he agreed.

Yeah man. True workhorse with no heat issues. At least you can record for over 2.5 hours

a brand new a7c is less than $1200, if the Lumix s9 isn’t good enough, I will pick it as my camera for sure.

Is the original a7c not better than the 6700 already?
In photos superior. In video the A6700 is ahead with its 10 bit capability faster sensor readout and better AF

If you are patient and negotiate you can. Especially now that the A7CII should be announced any time. Put some time in and you’ll find it.
Sold my a6500 and sigma 1.4 16mm/30mm lens. Got the a7c for 1300. And I got the sigma 35mm and 85mm 1.4 for 1k cash.

Yeah there is a rumor that it could retain a 24mp sensor but I think it’s going to be 33MP. Only one model.
