i love the fact that instead of taking the easy way and leaving the blue wire out, you took the time to take everything apart and do it the right way
That’s definitely representative of how my mind works in general. Do it right or don’t do it at all!
Can’t get enough of this z build!
Thanks my dude!
Top shelve install, most car stereo stores would not have taken the time to meticulously run the wires and snake cover them. Another quality OEM plus install completed. Time to enjoy some road tunes!
Thank you, I learned from the best!
You're a wizard. Looks great, dude.
Thanks my dude, super stoked on how it turned out!
Super clean. 👍🏾
Thank you!
Damn that was a lot of work, Good job.
Thank you!
REAR BUMPER TUCK!!!!!! will make the single go harder
I actually sold this Z last year and missed it so much I bought another one a few weeks ago haha. But I plan to get the KBD vertex kit I always wanted which has a single exit option on the rear bumper
If your going to do something like this on your z. Remove the seats. It will make things a whole lot easier
Do you have the link for all the speakers you used in this setup?
Hello, I've had my subwoofer for 1 year now. 4 days ago no start no crank, kept blowing 120a fuse on the battery fuse. Starter smelled terrible like chemicals/burnt. Replaced it under warranty, still no start and blow 120a fuse each time trying to crank.
I tried to start car without alternator connected, at all. And the car started!! I went and bought new alternator yesterday. She started right up!
Ran great! The LAST thing I did was re attach my Red amplifier wire to the battery fuse on the right post. My terminal only has 1 post btw. So then everything back together I go to start and boom, Dead. She wouldn't start I checked and she blew the 120a fuse AGAIN.
So I bought another fuse this time it came with 2 post/studs. I left my Amp wire DISCONNECTED.
And she fired up and I drove it around for the night.
Seems like my sub wire is blowing my 120a fuse.
Why? I have been bumping the sub for over I have been bumping the sub for over a year, what could be causing this? I checked under my rear seats and amp connections seem to be good. Today I might remove the amp 12v and inspect it. Also I have a ground NOT to the battery. Ground from amp to a bare metal near the rear seat. Any help??
I figured it all out! I had a loose ground on my amp! Anyways I want to amplify my door speakers(deafbonce 6.5) door speakers that are underpowered. They sound good but absolutely no bass when my sub is turned off.
I will be keeping my 2 channel amp for my subwoofer, my question is how did you power your door speakers thru the factory harness?
Cus I have my 6.5 plugged into the factory speaker harness in the doors.
But I thought amplifying them would require it to be unplugged and powered by an amplifier.
Also 2 RCAs go into my amp from my head unit
Would I need to buy an extra set of RCAs?
Nice.
Thank you!
no sound deadener, especially with the car gutted?? aahhh, the joy of working on a project with endless time...aahhh, the joy of working on a gutted car that doesn't interfere with your daily life/mobility....free time, I miss it.
Haha I had to stop myself somewhere. It was still a drift car, so also didn't want to add too much more weight.
Where did you buy the seat mounts?
How much was everything in total? I want to have better sound and louder and better bass too, but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg.
I saw a few negative points. No backing foam around the door/rear speakers, No sound deadening in the doors and why not use the space for the Sub that is behind the drivers seat, it has space for a shallow Sub. The sound deadening makes so much difference to the sound. Apart from that, a nice setup.
Fair points. It was also a drift car, so I was trying to be semi mindful of weight and opted not to use sound deadening like I have in my other cars. And I didn’t trust the stock sub cavity not to rattle with a bigger, more powerful sub and figured the acoustics of the box used would be better.
You probably should have used speed wire for your speaker wire. Why did you take out the Alpine speakers
I was today years old when I learned about speed wire. 😂 The system that was in the car previously was installed before I bought the car and had some issues and I run Pioneer in all my cars.
Really clean install! Did your Z have the bose system in it? Mine does and the factory amp is just not cutting it. Need to get a 5 channel amp myself. My problem is if yours did have the bose system, how did you do the door speakers? The wiring diagrams I find online are all none bose. Would really appreciate the help if someone could point me to the directions of the wiring for the bose system.
Thank you! Mine unfortunately did not have the Bose system, so I'm not going to be much help here.
@@avengednick all good, I ended up calling Crutchfield and figuring it out luckily.
@@BudgetBuilds3 right on, glad you got it figured out!
Whats the song playing at 8:04? Excellent build!
Sorry, I don't have the original edit file saved to check the name of the song. And thank you!
sick shift knob/ gear shifter where is it from
Thank you, it’s from Raceseng
Hi, what did you do with regards to the factory amp in the boot?
Mine was a base model, so there was no amp
what mouting screws are you using to secure the amp?
I can’t remember the exact size off the top of my head but I just took the amp to my local hardware store and found the largest fine thread metric bolt that fit through the mounting hole
I put a sound system into my ford escape so I wouldn’t buy a nicer car, then realized that while I loved the sound system I still wanted a better car. So I completely removed the sound system and now I have a 4 channel amp, a mono amp, and a head unit with wireless CarPlay. Also bought a 350z and I’m really happy the the purchase. Planning on replacing all factory speakers and installing sub in factory location. I think I want to install the amps behind the sub if possible to maintain glove box practicality. I think the total cost should only be around $600 since I already have the big ticket items. This video is very helpful for planning things out
Nice, congrats on the new 350Z! I actually sold mine and missed it so much I bought another one 6 months later 😂 Now I need to install a stereo in the second Z. Glad you found the video helpful though!
@@avengednick yup! I installed most things already, just working on making a custom sub box that can fit in the stock sub cavity. Got a 10” JL w0v3 which should work perfectly for the box size. One of the perks of buying a cheaper car is you can actually afford to modify and fix it lol. Enjoy your 350z too bro
@@blackbriarmead1966 right on man! I’ll have to look into mounting the sub in the stock location. I was worried about it rattling in their, but I do think that’s the best location.
If you have the Bose stereo when you bought your car it’s going to be a problem. Reason being is that your going to have to splice into the speaker wires by the stock amp to run to the new 4ch amp. The rca’s from the new dash will send the signal. Front door spears while they have a grommet you can’t run new speaker wire to them. You would have to use the front speaker wires near the left rear trunk. Rear speakers are easy to just plug into the amp
@@djlunatikx I ran my own speaker wire, I basically bypassed all the stock stuff. I finished the install and it sounds great
Issues with the amp getting hot in the compartment?
I’ve never had any issues with it
We want more 180 content
Trust me, me too! Waiting on one part that’s preventing me from moving forward with the S13.
My subs are working but my door speakers and rear aren’t working any clue where I went wrong ?
Are the speakers powered by an amp? If so, are they on a 5-channel amp like I used or their own 4-channel?
How much did everything cost
I was fortunate to have a family friend at pioneer who helped out with this project and I never really added it up to be honest
My drift Z needs a sound system... right...
I put sound systems in all of my cars, besides it definitely makes the Z that much more fun to drive on and off the track, so why not?
use your wingspan to measure wires faster...my 2 cents.
I was just trying to pull it all off here, but in hindsight that wasn’t that best move haha
