    You should list the title "Best Selling". We really want to know the top 5 HP gains for the DE and separately the HR

    The dyno doesnt lie. Stock intake is very good. Put 3" racing intake on 350z. After dyno...1 hp. One! This is on a car with larger thottle body, ported and polished upper and lower plenums, shorty headers, and 4.5 inch exhaust. Only caveat, in CA, so still has oem cats. So took it off, went stock, KN filter.

      exactly stock air box (2006) and up is best and some aftermarket air filter is all you need

    You will not see these crazy hp gains without a tune. For instance, slap on a CAI and you will see 5-6hp gains, but once you tune then you will see that 10-17ish hp gains... I personally dont believe Z1s 30hp claim, not without supporting mods (exhaust, headers or cat delete or something)

      While those numbers are defiantly BS, I like the Z1 intakes as they relocate the filter out of the engine bay and above the grill in theory drawing in more cold air.

      How do you feel about the 4" lmt intake with their tune? Over, say, admins 3.5". I have a revup with a rev up box w a z tube. Heard the stock boxes are good so im just wondering which way to go. I have many many mods. Pretty much everything but headers.

    I have the short ram Z1 motorsports (high flow) intake and my Z's performance went up. They we're much cheaper than these intakes, but it didn't come with heat shield. It was CARB legal, sounds great and didn't need a tune to feel the difference.

  • @K03sport

    ...the one that sucks the most? Sounds backwards, but probably works in this situation. I still can't see every OE intake as bad; and how much more air can you honestly flow with an aftermarket intake? Does a larger pipe equate to lower (intake) air velocity and vice versa (no pun intended). Most seem to make a louder sound as their primary attribute; and not necessary as a power "adder".

      You make a great point. The manufacturer spends so much $ on research, and development, we would be hard pressed to find something that is going to bolt on, and perform that much better. I've personally seen aftermarket intakes slow cars down.

    I hate to ask a dumb question but I might as well go ahead and ask, do you need a stage 2 or 3 tune in order to put on stage 2 or 3 parts? Obviously it’s not needed to put the parts in but if you’re getting those stage 2 or 3 parts is it worse to run it without a tune? Just curious. Wanting to put a stage 2 clutch and air intake on mine just wondering if it’ll actually make a difference with no tune. Thanks 🤘🏼

    • @a_LaLi_LuLe_Lo
      @a_LaLi_LuLe_Lo 10 місяців тому

      There’s no such thing as a stage 2 or stage 3 tune. A tune is a tune and the only deciding factor that changes what you get is the mods your car has your tuners familiarity with the platform and your power goals that’s it. At a certain point some mods change the operating characteristics of your car so much that a tune is *required* for it to operate properly but otherwise staged tuning doesn’t exist. You can change your clutch to whatever style you want the only way it factors is how the pedal operates and how much power it’s rated to hold
      Don’t use video games as a metric to understanding the real world need for speed and gta aren’t realistic and staged tuning isn’t real the same way that flames from the exhaust doesn’t indicate a cars speed

    Eh, I got the Injen Dual CAI, and I'm not impressed in regards to performance. I love the way they look though. I just thought they'd make a difference. That's just my opinion. If you want them just for looks, then Injen is the way to go; polished.

    K&N drop in air filters are the best for the buck. If you really want the best option its the long tubes yhat lead to the front. All the short rams will have heay soak issues. If you live in a hot climate area youre not getting any hp.. maybe on a cold night.

    Yet no mention of the most powerful ie best intake systems for your Z??? 3" dual for HR/VHR & 4" single for DE & Revup both CAI's. They need a tune which should be done to the Z anyway when modifying intake so that's no reason to not include them.

    I have a JWT pop charger intake for my 350z. I’m wanting to upgrade. Is it worth getting an AEM intake to replace the one I already have?

    • @1MADZ
      @1MADZ 2 роки тому

      Pop chargers don't do much because of the stock size of the intake....2.78" going to a small stock throttle body. That pop charger needs at least a 3" intake pipe diameter. For 350z DE ITS BEST TO DO A 3.5" INTAKE NO MORE THAN A 4"... BUT YOU WILL NEED TUNE. THERE ARE GOOD 3" INTAKE SYSTEMS ALSO
