Near to where I grew up, a man killed himself in his bathtub with his 3 dogs in the house. No one knew for weeks until someone went to check on him. His dogs were malnourished when discovered and, needless to say, there wasn't much of a body left to identify. A friend of mine bought the house a couple of years later. Pretty gruesome. I'd say she killed hers out of mercy.

So the story goes, (25) yrs ago today my then girlfriend and myself left our hometown in SW Ohio heading for Gatlinburg Tennessee to be married. Both of us were young and in love and scared at the same time and very broke. We had only $300 to our name but nothing was going to stop us. So driving down I 75 South our song at that time was Guys Do It All The Time, we played that song for (4) hrs straight. We finally made it to Lake Cumberland where her dad had a nice place on the lake. We stayed the night there and headed out the next morning to Gatlinburg to get married. We got to the courthouse in Pigeon Forge, paid $36 for our marriage license and then stopped at the Walmart and bought her a ring for $30. The wedding chapel was $100. So on October 1, 1997 we were married before the eyes of GOD, since that time we have had (3) boys and (2) grandsons. So every time we hear this song it takes us back to when we were two young lovers who wanted a life together. So here in a couple of days it will be October 1, 2022 our 25th anniversary 🎉 HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY MY LOVE ❤

I became a fan of Brooks&Dunn, Pam Tillis (loved her music), and my favorite John Michael Montgomery... to name just a scant few of a larger list. (That's okay but I introduced him to Dream Theater and his country butt fell out of his chair when he heard them) And you are right...I kinda kept up with country music for about 10 years. Don't listen to it any more on purpose. It just wasn't appealing as it was in the 90's.
