I was always told never use silicone on steel it could cause corrosion that's why they don't use it as seam sealer on car bodies
So what can you use to clean surfaces ?
I was told not to use silicone , black tar , or caulk on metal roofs . There are special adhesives to be used on metal .

You can use a caulk gun or a sausage gun if you use our 20oz silicone cartridges
