Normally we woke up 4am to do preparations for breakfast, so it remain fresh and warm, as well to do our obligation and morning prayer. That part of life. Some even woke up earlier if the food centre is quite a distant.

D Malay food culture has so many rice dishes, nasi lemak, nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, nasi ulam, nasi tomato, nasi minyak, nasi biryani, nasi ayam, nasi kukus, nasi goreng, nasi campur etc. Which is your fav?
Nasi dagang is one of my all time fav, it's so delicious, aromatics with a lovely fragrant n taste. D rice that is steamed with coconut milk, fenugreek, shredded shallots n ginger, screwpine leaf n a tiny pinch of salt is really wonderful.
1:55 Doesn't sound like a prayer to me, but more like a ceramah agama, or in English it's religious talk/lecture. Usually some mosque would hold this talk/lecture after the pray time. And yes, eating rice using spoon is much easier than using fork. More practical. You don't use pitchfork to shovel up dirt, right? Same concept. Eating rice using fork is similar like eating pasta using spoon. 🤣🤣🤣 Atas Tol literally translate as Above Toll.

We eat rice with spoon/hand. Your husband is very nice guy hhkk. Im from Kuala Terengganu. Fyi nasi lemak in my home town is difference compare in kuala lumpur.
As a young Terengganu boy our family normally have nasi dagang for breakfast and keropok lekor fish cake for afternoon tea with some kuih. Living abroad I am missing those days. Terengganu and Kelantan are the sweet tooth states of Malaysia. Everything we cook will have higher sugar content comparatively to other states. Along with full course rice dish our older generation were fishermen and needed high energy for the long day in the seas. The excess fish that we caught will be turned into food products so that it won’t spoil or go to waste so that’s how dishes like keropok lekor, keropok keping ( fish crackers) dried seafood and other delicacies came about.
Another superb video from you guys. Wow, I like eating keropok lekor too. I would not mind having rice or bread as my breakfast. Glad you like the nasi dagang, keropok lekor. Cheers !

Nasi Dagang is a mixture of normal rice and sticky (glutinous) rice added with fenugreek and boiled in coconut milk. The sausage like thing you ate was keropok lekor. Keropok means crackers. It is made of mixture of flours with a generous portion of fish paste. The taste is depending on how and who prepared it and the type of fish used.
