Thank you Mike o’Hearn you a artist of bodybuilding and health for the long run ! I am a Diesel mechanic for Dsny in nyc and I love drag racing, everything we do is extremely heavy , I’m 50 years old always trained, with your knowledge of proper movement has helped me tremendously. Your bench press video’s got me in love with pressing again with no pain!! Thanks to my 18-year-old son who loves bodybuilding he’s the one who got me looking at your videos thank you again.

45 years training and this is why I am a student first. Been doing incline wrong for ages. I see now the proper way to do the movement thanks to Mike. Ironically I did incline this morning at 2 a.m. and my shoulders were killing. Once again, thank you, Mike, for showing me proper form.

I love Mike jealous people who are probably obese borderline alcoholics and can’t get in shape hate and throw “ steriods” in desperate need to feel better.
This guy should be celebrating an award for
Teaching people to train safe and no waste there time!
Don’t lift it feel it is what I learned from him. I get far more doing weight I can control and engage my muscles than ego lifting!
I threw 30kg dumbells up on curls but had 14” arms and didn’t get why until I realised that it’s about time under tension form and about giving more over a short period then getting a rest. I got it wrong by ego training and trying to max out each workout! Even if I give the most I can sometimes and occasionally maxing out it works.
All people tend to try to get more and more weight each workout when slow and steady wins the race! Humbled to realise my ego made me train wrong for almost over 20 years. Swinging and bouncing weights does not do anything but set you up to fail . Mike quite often leaves saying he could have done more that is wise!!!

@@cgfitnessandarboriculture lol you are essentially agreeing with me; that is the entire point I was making. be realistic with your expectations when working out - you will literally NEVER look like this guy. it's just strange for mike o'hearn fans to adopt that philosophy when he's literal proof of needing a shit-ton of drugs to exceed natural expectations. it's just ironic to me.
also, the natty or not videos aren't bad at all, they are actually doing their part in setting realistic goals for naive newbie bodybuilders to aspire to, unlike mike o'tren - although I'm not surprised you would disagree with that.

Mike, story to go along with the confidence thing. When I first started lifting with my buddies dad and his friends, I was learning bench press and I remember I couldn’t do 225. Lol. They said we will take some weights off and they did but they put exactly 225 back on with different plates. The two plates, I wasn’t confident but when it was the same weight, different plates, I was able to get it. Mind barrier I learned to over come lol

Damn Mike. I know you get a lot of grief but that observation with the incline bench rep just solved the biggest issue I have in the gym rn besides daily commitment. I am in grad school rn and my time management as been terrible, barely getting in the gym 4 times a week now. My incline max is inferior to my flat bench at 240 and I just thought it was the lift itself, but no. I’ve been doing exactly what you said not to do: Dropping the elbows out and shrugging my shoulders never realizing the limitations its been giving me. Thank you so much man. Only up from here on out.

Good segment. Wish I had the benefit of this type of teaching back in the 70's. Would've been a lot further along and less injured. Shoulders are wrecked because of chronic over training and less than perfect form used in younger days. Mike is so right on point. Be patient. Focus on proper technique. Train for the long haul.

I really struggle with my technique on incline also. I have a tendency to bring my elbows out. My lifting is much lighter than flat bench because of this. I also dont have a partner so have a mental barrier lifting alone. When i can do 6 reps incline with 150 pound dumbells and feel strong, i then feel weak on the barbell, which makes no sense So this video for me is gold. Thanks Mike for all the knowledge!

Ive been watching you for years at this point. Regardless of what you take or don't take (it legitimately doesn't matter to me), the lessons are impressive. Three primary lessons stick out the most. Nutrition. Followed by Technique coming first in the workout and the fact you can't keep what isn't yours. If your Technique is trash then your gains or lack there of will suffer. If you were indeed on gas since age 17 weighing 270, how does one go about sustaining that for 40 years? The icing to the cake is as I apply the lessons from these videos, over the past few years; I have been able to become the biggest I've ever been feeling healthier and lighter then I've ever felt. All accomplished at the age of 36 when apparently my testosterone began to decline about 6 years ago. Go figure. Waiting for the knowledge of the next video.
