Sorry for late comment. Slade were my favourite 70's Glam Rock Bands. They made a Feature Film called, Slade in Flame back in their days. They are famous for their Christmas single, 'Merry Christmas, Everybody '. Slade lived not very far me. Give them a whirl - LOL!
No worries Steven! And sorry for MY late answer to this comment LOL. Yeah SLADE were so cool in this song! I need to see more from them! Thanks again for the amazing merch! Cya soon!
Slade and their, 'wall of sound', trademark. Something they used to great effect in their earlier 70's hit in the UK, back when they were one of the stalwarts of Glam Rock.
How have you never heard of them before? That's a pretty good question, HOW? Sometimes it's an advantage to be older, if only to brag about the circumstance, one was there, when the good stuff happened. These guys were ridiculously neglected as songwriters and musicians, they were mostly reduced to their entertaining skills. They are fun of the highest order, yet also with a sublime humor and lyrical capability. For me , the best of her songs is: Myzsterious Mizster Jones
Slade is great; I keep encouraging people to listen to them. They were one of the biggest bands in the 70s in the UK. They were great live. Many songs of theirs are "fun" songs." Try "Get Down and Get With It" next (for another fun song). Or for a different kind of song, "Darling Be Home Soon." They did both their own songs as well as covers. "Born to be Wild" is a great cover of theirs (technically, so is Darling Be Home Soon).
ABBAMAN...was aware of this group back then but never really listened to them. not sure why. they have more songs you can react to. glad you were able to discover them after all this time and it put you into a happy mood. thats what good music can do for you
What a brilliant song. The violin adds so much complexity and what a thumping drum beat. The musical bridge in the middle of the song is so unusual for a rock song, kind of classical based progressions.
Woweeee! OMG! The times l have danced to this song in clubs, l cannot tell you! What a blast from the past! The thing about the 80s is that every artist wrote something completely different from other artists...they were all individuals and fredoncoulaslly cool. Not like nowadays, where with very few exceptions, songs and artists all sound the same..my opinion only, of course. The intro. reminiscent of the intro. to Abbas' " Hey, hey Helen" which is on the album after Waterloo bello.😉 Another thing, the lead singer of Slade always reminded me of Dr. Who. I am a Dr. Who fan soooo... Thankyou for this... Run Run away!...... Ciao bello...see ya soon!🤗😎🎻🥁🎸
Hadn't heard this for ages since I saw it on Top Of The Tops last night & haven't stopped playing it since. It grabbed me back then in 1984 & is still fresh today. You got it spot on when you said IT MAKES YOU HAPPY. Can't say I feel the same about some music today. You're reaction was epic man. Long live the 80s.
Yeah.. Noddy is completely bonkers lmao. That is why I love this band. Jimmy Lea is a man of many possibilities (the guy on violin) and Dave Hills hats are always a treat.
Thank you for so eloquently describing my all-time favorite song. Noddy Holders vocals on this song with the driving percussion and the scorching guitar make it a party.
Quiet Riot became famous with Slades Song Cum on feel the noise and Mama we're all crazy now. They still tour but Ol Noddy is in broadcast and acting. Loved Slade. They still rock.
It's probably fair to say that Slade were past their peak by now... and we can probably blame them for Big Country too. Given all that they were still an absolutely fantastic band.
Slade were a huge part of my childhood before ABBA came along that is ! I love this song and it was fun to see your reaction to it but for me their best hits were in the early seventies - check them out.
Biggest selling singles artist in uk in the 70’s, 6 No.1’s with 3 going straight there…..their Christmas one still makes the chart every year, 50 yr after its release. They have a Huge back catalogue, Cum on Feel the Noize being a popular one. Thanks for reacting as sadly ignored these days
Slade are the greatest U.K. band from the 70’s - 80’s.. they can do headbanging- ballads- stomping- Dancing songs.. so so versatile xx try Squeeze me please me..
This is really 'late' Slade! You should go back 12-14 years to see what they were about, when they were in their prime! To hear Noddy Holder's vocals at their best, check out the live version of 'Get down & get with it'!!
This gets you a new subscriber here. One of my all time top favorite songs. Such an underrated band! The 12" version is even better than this single edit
Hey thank you so much Brian! And welcome to the GivenToe family! =) Have a seat comfortably, pop a cold or why not a cup of tea, and feel right at home! Yeah SLADE is amazing, I really thnik they are totally underrated too! I love em!
Thank's for uploading this famous Party Rock Song by my Childhood Heroes...but if you like this..please listen to their early 70's Stuff ...that makes you 😮...trust me 😅
Slade were huge here in Aus' in the early '70s and they had a habit of deliberately misspelling the song titles..."Coz I Love You" "Look Wot You Done" and "Cum On Feel the Noise" to name a few
En låt man blir glad av att höra och jag har dansat till den när jag var runt 20 Tack tack tack för att du la ut denna nu för är så nervös 😬 inför Shl finalen ikväll så behövde verkligen nått annat att fokusera på
JEZUS So Cool 🆒 Indeed. Honestly never heard of it 😬 Again 😏 SORRY.... But it is a suitable song for a PARTY. And in my Village Volendam can they have such a song use it well...... 🎉🥳 That is quite normal here Oh man you looked so happy and that's a good sign 😍👍
The were big in the UK before attempting to make it in the US. They had a lot of great songs including Cum on feel the Noize and Mama Weer all Crazee Now which were covered by the band Quiet Riot. My oh my was another hit they had in the US but not as well known as Run Runaway. Look into some of there older hits. You can find a lot on UA-cam. Really good stuff. Check out Radio Wall of Sound or Far far away to name a couple.
Naturally that 80s 'one hit wonder' (🤣) (oh, and let's not forget their other '80s hit, My Oh My) was after all their hits in the '70s. Do your homework next time, dude
Im sorry but I can not do that because UA-cam does not allow it. It will block the video worldwide, this is why I need to pause now and then in order not to get copyrighted. =)
This was my favorite song off the radio in 83/84. The album version with the extended intro is totally worth it.
Cool! :D
YES! The extended intro is GREAT!
the 12" version is even longer and better!!
Slade were absolutely brilliant in the 70s and 80s, one of their great songs is "my oh my"
Not a Slade fan, but I've always loved this song. So many amazing songs were written in the 80s.
Yeah the 80s is a legendary era for music!
They were better in the 70’s with loads of hits
OMG, I haven't heard this song in ages. Never seen the video tho. The singer looks so happy, that I had to smile. Great song after rotten day.😄🤠🎶🇵🇱
Such an uplifting song and video right? Love it! 😍😁
They been around since the 70's. Check out their Merry Christmas song. To me its not Christmas till I hear it
Slade is GLAMROCK and cult for sure. They have a epic Christmas hit song. Nice to hear and see your reaction. Love it..
Glam is awesome! Oh really? Sounds interesting! Thank you! 😁

@@GivenToe Yeah, the Christmas song is a worldwide Christmas hit that gets played non-stop during the period.
The sound of my childhood right there.
My Dad was and is a massive Slade fan. I did inherit a lot of my parents music taste but…not Slade. Ha!
Your dad is a great judge of music
They were by far the best live band i ever saw, and i have seen them all since the late 60s, and in Noddy they had the greatest rock singer ever.
One of best according to Ozzy Osbourne

You look so happy! Funny reaction.
Slade's song is cult!
Remember it from My teenage.
Haha I am! 🤣😂😁Cool!
Their 80' albums are rare.
Slade and their, 'wall of sound', trademark. Something they used to great effect in their earlier 70's hit in the UK, back when they were one of the stalwarts of Glam Rock.
I loved this song so much when I first heard it. I had to special order it from my local music store because NOBODY carried it in Michigan.
Respect

If this song doesn't make you get up and dance, then you are dead.
This was the early version of stadium rock that paved the way for Bon Jovi, Poison, etc.

Noddy Holder the lead singer was asked to join AC/DC after Bon Scott died but he turned it down. Was committed to his band Slade.
That is awesome! Both the fact he was asked AND turned it down!
