@user-ii1pt5vq3e Awesome! I have a 24x:36 framed celebration photo signed by entire team (sadly Herb Brooks) passed before the signing. I also have the tickets from every game the played in Olympics in 1980, including the Miracle on Ice Game. Greatest sports moment of my life. I’ll never forget that weekend, between Soviets and then Finland the next day. I also, obviously, have the actual game, in its entirety, on DVD. The movie is so well done that it chokes me up nearly as much as when the actual events unfolded.
That Mets/Phillies moment was epic. My friend just got back from his 3rd or 4th deployment overseas. He enlisted right after 9/11. We were at the bar watching "the only game on in the world." He hugged me so hard and cried. Never forget that moment.
Max Schmelling was a good man and labelled that way for a fight promotion in the 30's. Read up about him and you will see that after the war he was great friends with Joe Louis and provided for him at a time of need as well. I was shocked when reading about their friendship and how close they were. He also did a few things during the war that could have ended him if found out at that time since he helped some Jewish people.
Checkout the movie about the Olympic Hockey game, called 'Miracle on ice' starring Kurt Russel. It shows the whole story & it's great. I may be partial because one of the players was from my town & we all went crazy over that win! He came back a hometown hero.
One big one from gymnastics was when Kerri Strug's determination to win gold at the 1996 Olympics. It was so scary watching her get injured and keep going. Another big moment was when Baby Jessica fell in and was finally rescued from a well in 1987. I was a senior in high school and at a football game (i was part of the marching band's flag line) when they announced over the speakers that she'd been freed, that she was miraculously still alive and with just a scar to her forehead.
I lived in Atlanta during the 1996 games. NO ONE knew who was going to light the torch. I can't believe they kept it completely secret - but then, the internet wasn't really a thing, so it was harder to share rumors. All was exciting until that moment when Ali took the torch, and then everyone was bawling with pride and a bit of sorrow for his ailment. An incredible moment I'll never forget.
How about reacting to a video about 60's & 70's American super daredevil, Evel Kenievel? He jumped the fountains at the Mirage in Las Vegas on a motorcycle & the Snake River Canyon, using a rocket car!
Olympic wrestling is about the holds and how people do them. There are points for a ring out, the right holds, the right position, and the ability to control the match. They also count pins. There is also a penalty for holding too long as to wait it out. It’s a chess match on the mat.
Even if you dohe Sovn't want to bother with an edit so you can show it online, you guys should watch the movie Miracle. It is about that hockey victory over The Soviets. Really great movie and fit for the entire family.
1999 womens world cup isnt the most watched womens sporting event anymore, now its the Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team playing in the football stadium.
Probably the most iconic US sporting moment not mentioned was that Kurt Angle winning Olympic gold. He had a freaking broken neck when he won Olympic gold! He later won had a massive stint with WWF, later WWE. He did win gold there, as well. Was loved in WWE, too!
For those who don’t like all of the “interruptions” … it’s a reaction video ya ding dongs! If you want to watch the original video without the pauses then watch the original video on it’s own. I don’t care how often they pause the video. Their reaction is the reason I’m watching. Honestly, how hard is it to use your brain for something more than keeping your skull from caving in?
Yeah, it's just cultural. We Americans take being Americans quite seriously. We are the unelected Vanguard against the World's evil. And even in sport. We raise competitive children and sport is a great outlet for meritocracy.
There are a couple of posts that I need to correct. 1st, the United States didn't win gold when they beat Russia in the 1980 Winter Olympics, they won the semi-final against Russia and then won gold by beating Finland two days later. Number 2, Kerri Strug did not break her ankle, she had a 3rd degree lateral sprain with some tendon damage. Number 3, Jesse Owens himself told people at a Republican rally that Hitler didn't snub him but gave him a personalized photo of himself. Owen's said Hitler didn't snub him, my own President snubbed me. The President didn't even send me a telegram.
Garin, you should try a PC for gaming, you can use a PS controller with them, also. You may not be able to play some of the Sony games though. If Lea doesn't like sports, but she gave up plans to watch your hockey tournament, as mentioned in the last video, it shows a lot about her care for her little brother. Great job of the "kid's' video too. It's great to see a close and united family.
Back in the middle 1980s, I trained in Houston Texas with Bela Karolyi (coach for Nadia, Mary Lou). I thought I was pretty good, until I saw what Mary Lou could do. Basically stopped gymnastics afterward and focused on cheerleading (I was a teen, after all). Some people, like Simone Biles, are (and I mean this in the nicest way) freaks of nature. Beyond anything even advanced competitors can do. They come around once a generation.
Knowing how you love cold weather (some of you😀), I thought I'd pass along this video which I just stumbled across just for your viewing pleasure: Dallas Seavey closing on record 6th Iditarod title
10 November the US Marine Corps was born. On that day would you react to, Trace Adkins, “Semper Fi. It would be a gift all Marines such as myself… Thank You.
3:36 we as a country were battered like that flag so we deserve that 5:23 Mary Lou Retton was one of the best gymnast in the world right up with Nadia Comaneci a Kerry Strug let's not forget that champion
Correction, Max Schmeling as not a Nazi. Though he fought for Germany during the Nazi occupation. As a matter of fact, he and Joe Louis became good friends.
Sorry to hear your video was blocked. I have seen other youtubers do it. Maybe watch theirs to see what they did/do different. Why does yours get blocked and not theirs? I requested it several times because I believe your boy would take special interest in it with his knowledge of the sport. Of course, there is still the SR-72 Dark Star being officially declared authentic and in testing by the USAF and NASA. You love the military jets, you like the SR-71 and the B-2, you have to check out the SR-72 (Dark star is NOT it's official name - they don't get an official name until the USAF (or whomever) takes actual custody). The rumors were going around and it was like Area-51, is it real or just stories. Turns out it's real. It was already a movie star (Maverick) - 7350.264/kmh (Mach 6)
Someone had a bad day. Try to grow up next time, and if you don't want to see other people's reactions, then think a moment before clicking on the video. Wow.
Makes me feel old, I remember the Olympics: 1976 Summer & Winter/1980 Winter (can't remember if I watched the Summer one)/ and 1984 Summer (can't remember if I watched the Winter one, lol) 🇺🇲🗺️🥇🥈🥉🇬🇷
you need to watch Olivia Rodrigo and Lilly Allen sing FYou dedicated to US supreme court at Glastonbury 2022 best song ever 70,000 people giving the supreme court the finger
If he’s into hockey you need to see the movie Miracle. True story of the 1980 USA hockey team. Great movie.
I second this! The movie is phenomenal!

Just commented basically the same thing! Such a great movie!
There's also a movie called Miracle that I recommend watching. It's just all about that whole thing that happened. One of my favorite sports movies.
Thanks for the reminder! I just re-watched it !!!!
The movie about the USA hockey team called the miracle with Kurt Russell is pretty good
Miracle on Ice is my favorite.
I love how the kids can opt in or out.

I agree 100%! Enjoy!
The Miracle on Ice, I watched live and even this snippet brings tears to my eyes.

That Mets/Phillies moment was epic. My friend just got back from his 3rd or 4th deployment overseas. He enlisted right after 9/11. We were at the bar watching "the only game on in the world." He hugged me so hard and cried. Never forget that moment.

Keri strug for sure my favorite moment ever!
another one you should watch is Sarah Hughes' 9/11 tribute skating encore of 2002 Olympics

I think you would enjoy the movie Miracle. It’s about the hockey team that went to the Olympics.
The player that saved the flag from getting burned, he actually got to keep the flag and still has it
I feel like I’ve seen this family grown
My son wrestled from 1st grade all the way thru high school. It's an amazing sport!
Checkout the movie about the Olympic Hockey game, called 'Miracle on ice' starring Kurt Russel. It shows the whole story & it's great. I may be partial because one of the players was from my town & we all went crazy over that win! He came back a hometown hero.
Great suggestion! Though the movie is simply called "Miracle"

I was amazed that wasn't on her.e My daughter was only 4 but she was Kerri strugg for Halloween that year. A US leotard and a cast 😂
Thanks for the video! I'm not a sports guy but I actually know the wrestler Rulon Gardner's family. Great people from right here in Wyoming!
A great, funny, sports movie is “cool runnings” about the Jamaican bobsled team in the Olympics wonderful movie.
I lived in Atlanta during the 1996 games. NO ONE knew who was going to light the torch. What they forgot to mention is that Hitler did meet Jessie Owens. Jessie himself spoke about how he met Hitler at the Olympic Stadium in secret.
Salt Lake City was just awarded the Winter Olympics again for 2034
Amazing city
11:42 there is a movie about him it’s pretty good watch

There a movie called Miracle!! It won’t get blocked
In the movie they choreographed all of the skating, taking it from actual footage of the game. Amazing ! You absolutely need to watch “Miracle “ !
Even if you dohe Sovn't want to bother with an edit so you can show it online, you guys should watch the movie Miracle. It is about that hockey victory over The Soviets. Really great movie and fit for the entire family.

There are films about Jessie Owens and The Miracle that are great to watch!
Just finished eating Southern Blackberry Cobbler Ice Cream from Blue Bell Ice Cream & Hello from Texas
They left out Ray Charles sing "America the Beautiful" for game 2 of the World Series in Oct 2001 in New York. One month after 9/11
Probably the most iconic US sporting moment not mentioned was that Kurt Angle winning Olympic gold. He had a freaking broken neck when he won Olympic gold!
He later won had a massive stint with WWF, later WWE. He did win gold there, as well. Was loved in WWE, too!
❤🇺🇸

We have to send this guy some NHL merch!
Great video!
LOL. LOL LOL Don't do that. He made his point though. William s
They didn't even make mention or show the vault with 1 leg from Mary Lou to win gold smh
That wasn’t Mary Lou, lol
I think you mean Kerri Strug
For those who don’t like all of the “interruptions” … it’s a reaction video ya ding dongs! If you want to watch the original video without the pauses then watch the original video on it’s own.

Can't believe they left out the New England Patriots first Super Bowl win months after 9/11 in 2002.
"We are all Patriots. And tonight, the Patriots are World Champions!"
Legendary sh*t from Bob Kraft
Wrestling is popular in the Midwest like Iowa. Big farm boys.

React to “How wolves change rivers” please!
USA got hooked on rugby this year
Really, the fan or air-conditioner noise doesn't bother me. I can't speak for anyone else but I hate to see y'all suffer.

Stipe Miocic is from Slovakia. I forgot my favorite HW 💪
Max Schmelling might have been German, but he was no Nazi!

Joe Lewis and Max Schmeling became friends for life after that fight…. Was a nice story..
President Bush owned a baseball team before becoming president
If that was the 2003 world series where he threw the opening pitch that was not weeks after 9/11
2001
Just a little after 09/11/2001.
Correction, Max Schmeling as not a Nazi. Though he fought for Germany during the Nazi occupation. As a matter of fact, he and Joe Louis became good friends.
Check out Texas A&M fighting Texas Aggie band halftime videos. You'll be impressed.
France. Need I say more.
"Un-alived."
We say "deleted" now. 😏
Daughter wants to go to a University in America
Doesn’t want to watch the most patriotic moments though
Kerri Strug blows away Retton for the most clutch and patriotic moment. She vaulted with a broken ankle to take the gold medal.
Her ankle wasn’t broken, it was a bad sprain.
100%
I’ve never been this early to anything
have you seen the 9/11 story of Gander
Sorry to hear your video was blocked. I have seen other youtubers do it. Maybe watch theirs to see what they did/do different. Why does yours get blocked and not theirs? I requested it several times because I believe your boy would take special interest in it with his knowledge of the sport.

go buckeyes
These are suppose to be beautiful moment, patriotic. You should let them play and not stop them, it takes the feeling out of them!
Y’all gotta relax there’s other channels you don’t gotta be here.
Too much is going on in my country that I'm not very proud of. It makes it disheartening to watch the Olympics this year.
DNC Roll Call
Ali was a coward!
The Olympics has become a joke.
Yeah, USA men's and women's basketball!
I wouldn't have watched this past Olympics even if you paid me
I hear ya, but you should check out Rhythm break dancing if you want to laugh so hard you cry! 😂
Raygun
Good for you.
@@Michellefeltzer-hd4mq Among others
I binged watched it just for basketball tbh.
You show videos just so you can pause and talk on camera. BOO!
Do you understand what a reaction video is? Unreal.
