I've heard this song a thousand times but I have never listened to it so intently as today nor have I ever really dissected the lyrics before until today. I'm certainly not prudish by any stretch but they are surprisingly bawdy, something I never realized. In the context of the song however they are remarkably beautiful and even spiritual. The love where you lose yourself in that person, connect in a way where you become one entity, absorb every aspect of them body and soul, and celebrate that limitless love in such a way can be such a magical experience. Some people live their whole lives never having the chance to experience love so profoundly. Thank you Kirti, Savio and Priti, for helping me see this (and many other) songs in a whole new way.

      @@88wildcat This one too:
"You ripple like a river when I touch you
When I pluck your body like a string
When I start dancin' inside ya
Oh baby, you make me wanna sing
      Yeah, baby, baby, baby, baby
      Oh yeah, all right
Baby, we're sure doin' it tonight."

I'd be embarrassed to react to a borderline pornographic song like this with my young daughter, but they probably didn't know about the content, or their daughter is mature enough to handle it. This song was very explicit for the time it was written. With Cardi B singing about her WAP, this is very tame.

@@wiz9496 That's not their daughter. She's Kirti's sister...and a grown ass adult, who holds college degrees of her own.

Marty is so passionate with this amazing love song about a guy so blown away by the incredible, sweet experience of loving the woman he loves. All he can do is keep begging her to trust in him, as he believes in the miracle of finding true love. If only she'll believe like he believes in the miracle of love, they will make it. One of my favorite love songs ever.

Hi Enoma, many nights in the 70's lying in bed in the dark with my headphones on, nothing but the green light of my stereo, takes me back, Marty Balin had a big hit with a song called HEARTS, Beautiful song.

Lady on the left got before everyone else did, very deep song with a real meaning, heard it at 10 years old a few months after it came out in 75, it came on the radio a couple after that then a certain girl broke it down one day. A few years later at 13 I found out that the song was inspired in part by the Indian guru Sathya Sai Baba, whose followers believe him to have been a miracle worker. It was also inspired in part by a woman Marty Balin was in love with at the time. It's a song that you may or may not be ready for!! However the lady on the left got it!!!

This song is not beautiful solely due to vocals and lyrics but due to instrumentation of the band members, Craig Chaquico (lead guitar), Bass/Keyboards (Pete Sears), Johny Barbata (drums) and the additional band members, David Freiberg and Papa John Creach. It was a very cooperative band. Also, they had Irv Cox on saxophone on this track. Give 'em all credit.

Marti Balin was a very special and sincere soul. It is interesting to know that he was a friend with Vishnujana Swami, who played with Jefferson Airplane at the very beginning, but later joined the mission of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad. Marti Balin once visited the Temple in L.A. and he played Vishnujana Swami the song "Good Shepard." You see, this kind of idealism is rare in this materialistic world. Marti Balin expressed in his own limited and to some extent ignorant way, but he was searching. Hope he will find it to a greater extent in his next life. Blessings!

In order to secure more radio airplay for the song, the full-length album version of "Miracles" (6 minutes, 52 seconds long) was cut by more than half its length for the single, which was released at a length of 3 minutes, 25 seconds. This edit was done not only for length, but to remove the sexual reference in the line "I had a taste of the real world when I went down on you, girl."

Where did you get that info from ? Marty Balin had this song in mind for a long time, but it never came to full realization until early 1975.The band had already changed its name to Jefferson Starship, and had released the "Dragonfly" album the year before.Paul Kantner had already toyed with the Jefferson Starship name in 1970 with his "Blows Against The Empire" album. But when the "Red Octopus " album came out in 1975,from which "Miracles" was lifted, they were in full steam as Jefferson Starship -not Airplane, and this song was not a Jefferson Airplane recording.

I little trivia about this song: It was inspired in part by the Indian guru Sathya Sai Baba, whose followers believe him to have been a miracle worker. It was also inspired in part by a woman Balin was in love with at the time. According to Jeff Tamarkin's book Got a Revolution! Marty wrote the song right after returning from a spiritual pilgrimage to India to study Vedanta under guru Sathya Sai Baba. He had made the trip with a lover named Barbara and wrote the song upon returning as a ballad to both Baba and Barbara.

The song progression is meant to mirror the climax and orgasm during intercourse. There are quite a few songs, especially from this era, that are written in this progression. This one is a masterpiece! (Chefs kiss!)

Preposterous. How could humans, lovestruck or otherwise, exist on the stars? Even a G2V star such as the Sun has a 'surface' temperature (as measured at the outer limits of the photosphere) of 5500 degrees while the corona reaches at least 1,000,000 degrees! Add to that a surface gas pressure of. 868 mb and surface gravity of 274 m/sec sq. Nothing romantic about that, and the Sun is not even an exceptional star!
