Powder is very young. About 7 or something. I get you not liking her stupid behavior. At the same time. She's a child that was allowed to play with nail bombs instead of toys and was previously traumatized by war, death of her parents etc. It's not her fault.

@@Live-dy8gr in episode one Powder barely does the parkour. In episode five Vi tells Caitlin that Powder could do the parkour when she was seven years old.
I would assume 7-9 is more probable than 12.
I just googled it. There are two versions- 9 or 11-12.
I feel like 9 is much more fitting.

Finally! It's so hard to find reactions by people who know League Lore. Although I get being _so_ mad at Powder for fucking things up, it's straight up cruel to be agreeing with Vi _punching_ her sister. Even Vi was horrified by what she did.
Idk I still feel for powder, she’s still a child and when do children do as they are told lol and we never got to see adult powder and who Knows, adult powder might’ve got shit done and been good.
people have commented this before I'm sure, but, I always think about what if Powder was born in Piltover and not poor in Zaun. With her talents and curiosity she would have been in the academy like Jayce.
@@AndyBestHP Yeah that's the whole point of the parallel between Jayce and Powder. How both geniuses would end up in polar opposite environments.
Also, Vi has already been shown to set an example for Powder in *not* following the rules; Vander told her not to mess with Piltover, yet she went anyway.
Vi is literally doing the "Do as I say, not as I do." thing that adults often do. Also, Vi was the one encouraging Powder to make bombs in the the first place.
Well yes. Vi was also the one who didn't want to tell Vander about the crystals. There would be no bombs if they told him, so there's that too...
EVERYTHING about this show is fantastic, the soundtrack, the story and characters, the animation, and especially the voice acting! If you are familiar with the game, then this show gives you the insight on how and why Powder became Jinx. If you really deep dive into this show, you'll find that there are not any really good or bad guys. It's just how each character is perceived. Yes, Silco is sadistic, but he is adamant in the belief that his actions of advancing his goal of the underground becoming the sovereign nation of Zaun is the right one. Vi also has her downsides as well. In the beginning all she wanted is to have revenge on Topside/Piltover, then after the end of episode three you'll see that all she wants is revenge on Silco in order to set her sister free. Powder is an emotionally traumatized child who has extreme separation anxiety issues but is a brilliant genius inventor. Jayce is a noob, easily manipulated, Mal is a master manipulator, but all of the characters see themselves as the "good" person.

One of the things in this act that always stands out to me is when Vander and Silco are talking, and Vander challenges Silco asking "For what? Pride?" Silco's response of "For _respect_" actually rings very strongly for me, personally. I know what it means to be in an environment where you are shown no respect at all, and how maddening it is. Also, people seem to want to view Powder as innocent because of her age... but, in this act alone, even at her age... she is more than happy to bust out nail bombs as a solution for problems. Innocence was never an option for her.
I'll remind you that Vi was the one who encouraged Powder to make bombs.
@@LadyDoomsinger vi is also a kid herself, she has no idea how to raise her sister, and was raised in a similarly shit environment

@@ragnarian People need to understand, that pointing out how and why certain things went wrong for the sisters, doesn't mean you're "blaming" anyone. Vi did the best she could, nobody in her position could've been expected to do better.
That doesn't change the fact, that Powder made and used bombs because Vi encouraged her to. If Powder is to blame for what went wrong, then Vi bears an equal part of the responsibility... Personally, I wouldn't blame either of them for being kids and messing up... because that's what kids do sometimes.

I mean if you are gonna say that powder just didn't do what Vi told her too and fked everything up just keep in mind Vi did the exact same thing, if she had just done what Vander told her to do one time the whole larger situation they were in would never have happened 🤷♂

@@Dreamm_17 lmao you could argue Vi caused the larger event that not only set about the circumstances where powder killed the people she did on accident, but also Vanders friend and the lead enforcer, because the only reason they were even there is because Vi fked around top side when Vander told her not to. With your logic it's like saying a leader who started a war is not actually responsible because they didn't shoot someone themselves thier soldiers did.....
@@LoyaltL Vi's fault??? Powder disobeyed his sister and killed EVERYONE Vi gave the ORDER NOT to go and she DISOBEYED. Don't come with this idea of defending a character who is horrible, and on top of that he continued killing people innocent as an adult. Jinx deserves a horrible future.

After the loss of her parents Powder really is strongly attached to Vi and (desperately) wants to impress her.
That's why Vi telling her she's "not ready" when she told her otherwise before (episode 1) makes her react as strong as she does.
Powder was probably not going to interfere, but then she finds out about the power of the crystals and she hopes she can be useful with them.
Sure, she totally misjudged how powerful and unpredictable those crystals are, but for me that wasn't completely out of character for a ~10 year old.
Your reaction to Powder's mistake is certainly unique as I haven't seen a lot of reactors that are this hostile towards her.
I fear that you might not enjoy the show as much without a little empathy towards Powder, but I guess we'll find out ...
Something I didn't realize till my second watch - Powder was fractured right at the beginning. You see the same scribbly-scratch over animations right before they show them.
Nah. I never liked Powder or Jinx and never cared about deep mind of her actions, always thought that she’s too far gone like everyone said, and still loved show.
P.s. not everyone have to think the same to enjoy something.
@@DamianLamier You are totally right that not everybody has to think/feel the same while watching the show.
I wasn't trying to tell anybody that they should have empathy towards Powder/Jinx, you can think/feel about her any way you want.
The story however is in 3 acts and the finals of those acts (3-6-9) all hinge around the relation between the 2 sisters (and mostly from Powder/Jinx's perspective).
There is a lot going on in the show besides the 2 sisters of course, I was just wondering if the story of the show is as enjoyable when you're not "rooting" for the sisters.
Good to read you really enjoyed the show without caring that much about Powder/Jinx, maybe Centane/Kamilla will have the same experience...

damn that suck that people already spoil you about season 2 and possible future character. i was so expecting to see your reaction of episode 9. anyways great reaction can't wait to see the rest of the season. also small question i was wondering if you would be interested in reacting to the music video of enemy by imagine dragon. the whole video is animated in the Arcane universe its pretty good and i would love to see your reaction to it.
A little late, but there's no reason to worry about copyright with Arcane. You can basically show the entire series, with the exception for the Imagine Dragons song. Riot Games made a point of not copyright claiming it for streamers with reaction streamers in mind, but they couldn't reach a deal with ID's publisher.
Seems like that copyright is out, I struggled with it at some episodes 😊
@@Centane Ah, mb in that case. Must be something with Netflix, as Riot has said they'll never pursue copyright claims in relation to streamers - at least when it comes to Arcane.
@@yllepluff Could just be the UA-cam copyright system being inconsistent as always - there doesn't seem to be any clear consensus on what is and isn't claimed.
My first time watching I was trying to associate every character to a champion in LoL, I thought: Vander was Graves, Silco was Jhin, Vander with Shimmer was Dr Mundo, Mel was Karma, etc.
I'm noticing a pattern of Scandinavian chicks just not liking children in general lol
let's gooooooooooo! Before I didn't like watching series because it takes time to watch all of them but I tried watching arcane and loved it, that's when I started series because of arcane.
Americans have really different opinions with powder at episode 3, maybe that's why they have a lot of hard headed people.
ep3? I start to test reactors from ep1, they all expect powder to keep up and jump roofs with ease and help with the street fight, like... where has all the common sense gone? she's a skinny little girl of 7 or 8? and reactors watching expect her to compete equally vs people double her age, absolutely make the best possible decision in every scenario, like goddamn just think back when you were her age and the little world knowdledge you had at the time, would you've done any better?

@@EgoJinpachi_ Right... in ep2 when she hits every target in the game, they all say, "well just give her a gun, she is a good marksman" . Like, you realize that you are giving a gun to a child right? But then i remembered, that they get guns over there as soon as they are born xD
@@EgoJinpachi_ To be fair, many other animated series don't care about age, and have children being as capable as adults - it can take people a while to figure out that isn't the situation in Arcane.

Since you're not reading the comments before you're done that means I can freely just comment on the Vander thing.
In a sense people are wrong about Vander coming back. Vander is dead. The thing Vander creates out of his body, Warwick, is nothing like Vander at all. Unless they decide to retcon the lore. Warwick only rememebers one thing from before he became warwick. Directly quoted from his lore page:
*"Warwick struggled to recall a single memory from his past... All he could see was blood. But then he heard a little girl screaming. Screaming something he couldn’t understand. It sounded like a name."*
This of course is referencing Powder (Jinx) screaming for Vi to come back after she left her there.
So story wise, it's pretty wrong for people to say "Is he really dead?" because yes, Vander as we know him is gone.

I like being here because I remember some titles and learn new ones, but whenever there is something new for me, I watch the full version before your film and that's how January passes. I don't work because I have a heart condition and I rarely leave the house, but when I watch your videos I feel like I'm watching with a friend. I know that most people mean well, but it always makes me a bit sad/mad and annoys me when people spoil things in the comments of these reactions... even well intended remarks like "I can't wait for her to see episode [insert number]" can spoil things.

@@Centane that's one way to view it, yes. Another way to view it would be as someone coming down in a very uncharitable and unsympathetic way on a little girl with abandonment issues and developing psychological trauma. If you were to do that to a child like this in real life I'd call it cruel, so that's where my mind went to.
Of course the difference between us is that I never played or cared about League of Legends the game, so I went into this show with no preconceptions at all, and I think I actually had the better experience for it (for one I don't keep trying to guess which game character is going to appear at every other turn). On average movie adaptations of books and games leave much to be desired, so the people who read the books or played the games first have a distinct advantage to judge the movies. However, this show is a rare exception, because it is actually not only superior to it's source material, but it stands as potentially the single best piece of animated storytelling in the last two decades at least. Bold claim, but I'll bite the bullet on that because I don't think I can truly oversell how good this show is, you're bound to enjoy it.
There is actually a phenomenal reaction series to Arcane by a therapist on youtube - Psyculturists - he breaks down the psychology of the characters in a way that's both engaging and educational, though as a result his reactions are incredibly long, hours per episode at times, but it's fairly worth it I would say, once you watch the series yourself first of course.
@@Centane I've seen a lot of reaction to this show by now and you are one of the very rare ones that gets angry at Powder for what she did. By far most get angry at Vi for hitting powder.
@@brabbelbeest that's because people aren't thinking, powder just killed her entire friend group & stopped Vanders rescue with stupidity, Vi just lashed out for 1 second and then almost immediately came to her senses but by then it was too late.

Really good animated series. About the only ones better that are somewhat recent are Castlevania and maybe FMA: Brotherhood
Idk why people take it so personal? You already know the characters and how they turn out. She exploded an entire building and got everyone she cared for killed except for Vi. What are you supposed to do, give her a pat on the back and say good job? 😂
