From this subscriber's perspective, I align with and enjoy your love of architectural detail. We also share an indifferent response to cars/car culture. Narrate and create your walks, your sightseeing through *your humanity, lens, sensibilities, Shinichi. This is why the majority of us, I'm sure, watch you. We enjoy along with you.
Everybody needs something to get excited about; for you, architecture is what gets your heart pumping. I love looking at old buildings as well, because it’s like a living piece of history. And I’m like you when it comes to people talking about cars…my husband starts talking to me about cars and my eyes glaze over and whatever he says just changes into ‘blah blah blah’
I always appreciate the comments on architecture because I take notice of it when I visit Japan. There are so many interesting buildings that you never see elsewhere.
In your tours I adore architecture, such as those in Rio de Janeiro (Cristo Redentor). There are various selections of architecture, so buildings have meaning to our lives. It's amazing to see cites of buildings in your videos.
12:54 The building way in the back reminds me of Waterfront Station in my home Province. It looks like the other side of the Station were you can enter to catch the trains. 🙂
Thanks for taking me along on your 20,000 steps. Love when you have the camera facing forward so I can see where we are going, and actually recognize buildings / shops / or just watching the people. Planning on visiting so keep sharing the sites from Hiroshima to Sapporo and more.
Hello from Chicago via Hollywood. As a Chicago native, I appreciate and love architecture. Your view and commentary is MUCH MUCH appreciated. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I love whatever you post! You are just so down to earth and personally I nothing about architecture but every time I visit places I love to look at buildings also. Cars that’s a no for me. LOL Thank you so much for always having such enjoyable content!
I love when you talk about and show the architecture because I work in Historic Preservation which is all about preserving old buildings and archaeological sites 🥰
I love the architecture!!! Honestly I watch these videos for the culture. I want to know the history. It’s kind of cool to see what’s new or modern but I want the culture! Which is often reflected in architecture.
Hi Shinichi missed the premiere catching up now . Always enjoy your walking 🚶♀️ videos . You mentioned watching the videos while being on a treadmill. I use a trainer for my bicycle 🚲 when the weather is bad and usually listen to music 🎵. I will definitely try watching this instead. 😀👍
I am wanting to travel to Japan…. I want to travel in November, Fingers crossed November 2023 I can….. I love when you talk about the beautiful buildings.
Lovely video Shinichi! I love all of you and Satoshi's videos and they have helped me these past couple years very much. I'm hopefully going to be traveling again soon to visit my fiance in Taiwan soon and hopefully they should open up in the summer. Been rough being apart for 2 1/2 years, but would hopefully love to visit Japan again to as when I go to visit my fiance I will be for 2 months, would be a lovely side trip detour and loved my trip to Japan 3 years ago very much. Best wishes and hope you have a safe and wonderful trip to Hawaii!
Before my Ms got worse, I was notorious for walking everywhere. I still sometimes hobble along with my cane, instead of taking easier ways, even if my family sometimes think it is too hard on me. I really enjoyed this video vicariously.
As a frequent visitor to Akihabara, things started looking very familiar for me around 38:54. I've visited Yanagimori shrine several times but I've never seen it when the trees were in bloom like that. And that spot where you turned around and headed back to the bridge was at Chianti Due, part of Hotel Resol, where I stayed on my last trip there.
I do enjoy your talking about architecture. When I'm in town I'm always looking up and around at all the amazing buildings--all the different designs, colors, and styles. Yes to the soft serve! When it comes to plate lunch in Hawaii, age no matter! It's a Hawaii thing! So glad you're gonna come see your family soon. Your mom will be so happy! :D
I love that you talk about the architecture. I, too, have a deep appreciation for the different styles. I live near Seattle & go into the city quite often just to explore the buildings. I hope you continue to point the architecture out for us. Your love of nature is appreciated as well. I live close enough to the mountains & ocean so I try to explore those areas.
Thank you, I like your videos, simple and basic nobody does,so we can see the real area and daily lives of people.Go to Ghent of Belgium instead of Venice,Brussels,Rotterdam ,Oslo is beautiful,I just did those adding a Baltic cruise. Also can do by train in Germany start with Munich, Lipzeck,Hamburg, finish in Frankfurt.very easy to do.Also Spain is my favorite compare to Italy, so dirty, not as much choices of food and very rude servers.base in Madrid, amazing with good food, take train all around, easy to do.
Love your videos. I actually booked a Ramen Tour with Frank after watching your guys eat around Tokyo. I will also visit Wayback Burger (Cheesy Burger CRAVING) Thank you for the awesome content and ideas!
I love it too, so it’s awesome for me! Mahalo for taking me to Japan without leaving the house! I appreciate all your videos! And love you and Satoshi!
My keyboard is bugged today so can't write in live chat, just wanted to say thank you for a nice video and listening to your thoughts. Yes I love buildings , I never understood people walking around looking down and never UP ⬆️ when all the beautiful city opens up , the structures against the sky, the spaces in-between even. YES I would travel to see the world as it opens up, no place in particular , just everywhere. Wish you a good journey to Hawaii once you go 👋
Just do everything you want to do in Hawaii. Life is too short to make choices when it comes to travelling. Jist don't forget to bring us with you and make us drool!
I know u guys are here on Oahu, th3 ending part of this video u was talking about places to eat and u mentioned burgers. In Kaimuki a great burger place called Chubbies burgers is the bomb!!! Don't forget the Chubbies fries. Enjoy your stay with the ohana..
We are from New Zealand. We are going to Fiji for a week in August. Then we are really hoping to get to Japan in April next year. If we can't visit Japan then we will go to Hawaii. I really hope Japan will be open though, and I am really enjoying your videos to help with planning.
I'm not bored, I really like talking about buildings. Interesting, what is the original inspiration. Of the designer. And why he chose. To erect the structure is precisely in that aera.
Hi Shinichi, I was so worried financially when blowing our saving to do literally a trip around world in 46 days around the world one summer, and a few more trips after that included spending 6 weeks in Japan. Then the pandemic happened, I thought waw so glad we did it in such freedom. Yes we don’t know what’s gonna happen next.
You should definitely do plate lunches and other local favorites in Hawaii, maybe collaborate with Amanda and Felix Eats? I would love to see a series with you and them.
so the Katsu sandwiches under the bridge at Akihabara are actually from the shop opposite the vending machines? i never knew that. i wanted to get a sandwich but they were pretty expensive
Hey Shinichi I know this may be a strange request, but could you describe the smells if they stand out please. I think people put too much emphasis on sight alone. Thanks!!
Ich liebe diese Videos einfach. Das schönste für mich wäre, wenn ihr Mal nach Deutschland in meine Stadt die die älteste von Deutschland ist. Nach Trier 🥰🙏🏼🌺
I want to visit Japan so bad the fact that it is cheaper to fly round trip and stay for ten thirteen days cheaper than traveling in the USA to stay in a halfway safe area
Love the architecture!!!❤❤❤

I love your walking monologues. I started listen to them whilst walking myself imagining I’m in the streets of Tokyo checking out all the food 😂
I love architecture! I especially enjoy when you talk a little about the history of a place!
I'm such a introvert but this whole walk looks amazing and would do this everyday 🤗
You're not alone, I too am fascinated by architecture 🙂

I'm not an avid fan of architecture, but it's interesting to hear what attracted your attention to a particular building. And JAPAN of course.
I am wanting to travel to Japan…. I want to travel in November, Fingers crossed November 2023 I can….. I love when you talk about the beautiful buildings.
When you’re able to travel you should go to Prague the architecture of a lot of the buildings are beautiful and just the city in general in amazing 🤩

Walks very enjoyable. More interesting when your camera is facing the way you're walking instead of at yourself.

North Beach is the Italian section in SF
I want to visit Hokkaido!
Love the walking videos. Shinichi do you recommend Google maps to get around Tokyo or do you use a different app? Please share.
North Beach. An architectural paradise. Then you were right next to Chinatown too.
I would want to visit Japan
One of my American friends told me that he likes burgers
at Under The Cascade Restaurant in Tachikawa is good.
North Beach is the Italian district in San Francisco-👍🏼
I walked from Akihabara to Tokyo Station 2 years ago.
日本行きに向かって運動 (treadmill)頑張るぞう!おー!
Can you go to an outer island in Hawaii? Also you should hook up with other chefs or cooks that are from there.
You should definitely do plate lunches and other local favorites in Hawaii, maybe collaborate with Amanda and Felix Eats? I would love to see a series with you and them.
I like your vlogs
so the Katsu sandwiches under the bridge at Akihabara are actually from the shop opposite the vending machines? i never knew that. i wanted to get a sandwich but they were pretty expensive
Your camera is great! Which one do you use?
I think he usually uses a GoPro 10.
come to Australia.
What time did do this walk? The streets are so clean and no one is on the streets.
Hey Shinichi I know this may be a strange request, but could you describe the smells if they stand out please. I think people put too much emphasis on sight alone. Thanks!!
I have a question for you. Is it safe walking alone in Tokyo? I like walking in downtown and seeing the architecture.
One thing about filming things like this, when you ask “what do you guys think, should I get a soft serve?” there’s no one to tell you no 😆
We heard the shout out. ❤️
I'm waiting to visit Japan again ASAP. I'm vaxxed but not boosted because I had some side effects so I hope Japan doesn't require a booster shot.
