    I am 43 yrs old. I have never had children, however, my youngest niece has just blessed us with a new baby girl. I am so excited to try your ideas. I am very crafty, but not a strong sew-er, but you make it look so simple, I am gonna give it a try. I am actually looking forward to Sophia telling her friends with horror how her auntie MADE her clothes, ha ha.

    I saw the video today and made a pair for my 8 month old baby girl and they came out so cute. I did drawstring since I didn't have the elastic and decorated it with padded squares on the knee areas since she is a crawling diva, lol... thanks so much for all your videos tutorials. :)

    Thank you sooooo much ! This has to be the best video tutorial I've seen for simple projects ! I've had a sewing machine (from my mom) since my mid teens, and have barely used it because when I had purchased patterns.. I had trouble visualizing the instructions.. and some videos aren't as easy to follow. I feel like I can definitely tackle this project. You have a talent not only for crafting but for making tutorials !

    @hazeldream1984 A stretch needle is a needle that is specifically designed to be used with stretchy fabrics like the t-shirt material. The stretch stitch is a specific type of stitch that you can select on some sewing machines that will allow you to sew with stretchy fabrics so that when the fabric is stretched the stitches don't pop out. Hope that helps.

  • @TheCraftyGemini

    Yes. But keep in mind that for adults it would be better to use an actual pattern if you really want it to fit correctly. If you are aiming towards more loose fitting pants that will just be used for like pajamas than yea, go for it!

    HI CRAFTY GEMINI, I watch your channel all the time and I love your tutorials. I was hoping that you can make a video for beginner sewer projects on how to make a pair of shorts for a little boy around 4 years old, I would love to make matching shorts for my 4 year old and newborn sons. Thanks a lot for all the work you put into your tutorials, it's because of you that I bought a Janome sewing machine and started learning how to sew.

    Hey Vanessa I absolutely love all your videos. My friend is having a baby and I really wanted to make her a few baby onesies. I found a pattern from simplicity however it's six pieces. I was hoping you could do a baby onesies tutorial that is less complicated.

    @Trayne1837 That is definitely another way of doing it. But for me this way was easier especially to explain on camera. Some of my students often get confused with putting one leg in the other so, I chose this method for my video tutorial.

    @blueforyou2 Absolutely. Pinking shears are often used to help keep the fabric from fraying... which won't make a difference in this project because t-shirt fabric doesn't fray anyway. :o)

    @Rooshanii The machine I'm using in this video will probably run you about $1,000 these days. But if you're on a budget one machine I recommend to all my beginning students is a Janome 11542. Do a google search for it and it will probably pop up on Overstock. Their shipping is only like $2 or $3 so it's the best deal. The machine is refurbished but I haven't had any problems with the 2 I've purchased. It's my little basic go-to machine and it only weighs 11 lbs but its a heavy duty sewer!

  • @TheCraftyGemini
    @TheCraftyGemini  13 років тому

    @blueforyou2 You would have to check on your machine for the number or the image that looks like a zig zag stitch. If you don't see anything like it on the actual machine check your user manual. Hope that helps.

    @devrenee2 For boys and mens pants and shirts you would need to purchase a commercial pattern. Those garments require a lot of steps and precise measurements depending on the boy's or man's size. My videos on UA-cam are only 10 minutes long so, that just wouldn't be possible.
